PhD programmes

Phd Programmes of Sant’Anna School aim to link basic and applied research in dynamic fashion, with a strong focus demands for innovation by industry and public institutions. Sant’Anna’s PhD programmes last three or four years: they are designed for bright young graduates, from Italy and abroad, who are admitted after a selective examination which values candidates’ educational background and their attitude for scientific research and interdisciplinary approach. All positions are fully-funded : the PhD student scholarship is renewed annually following a successful assessment. There are no tuition fees for the enrolment to the PhD.

How to apply

Calls open every year in January and close by June. Applications must be submitted on-line. Some programmes follow a different scheduling: please check timing and deadlines in every programme. The admission requirements are  Master Degree (M.Sc. or M.A.) or equivalent title Undergraduate students may also apply if they will graduate within 30 september.

99 PhD Funded Positions in All Research Fields at University of Pisa in Italy; About the University of Pisa: The University of Pisa is a public institution with twenty departments, and high level research centres in the agriculture, astrophysics, computer science, engineering, medicine and veterinary medicine sectors. Important : before registering for one of the competitions you must carefully read the competition notice available at APPLY NOW link in the bottom of the page. Failure to upload the aforementioned documents is not a reason for exclusion. The candidate is required to submit separate CVs for each selection for which he competes. Simply sending your CV does not constitute registration for the competition.  (only for holders of a qualification obtained abroad) the qualification accompanied by the documents indicated in article 3 of the competition notice.any names and related contacts (email addresses and telephone numbers) of teachers or scholars available to provide references must be indicated.

Online registration for the competition is divided into the following phases:

• registration of your data on the web, by connecting to the address www.studenti.unipi.it .  Those who have obtained a degree from the University of Pisa (or have, in any case, used the web services in the past) do not have to register, but go directly to the next phase 2 relating to registration for the competition.
• online registration for the competition by always connecting to the address www.studenti.unipi.it , by entering the data requested during the online procedure. it will have to be loaded, via upload:  the complete CV of the documentation deemed useful and duly signed. a research project (only if indicated in the attachment of the specific competition available at the bottom of the page) the self-certification relating to the degree obtained or to be obtained (Annex 1)
