డిమాండ్ లేకపోయినా వారం వారం ప్రేమ సినిమాలు కుప్పలా వచ్చి పడుతున్నాయి. యూత్ కోసం తీస్తున్న ఈ ప్రేమ సినిమాల్ని యూతే చూడడం లేదు. ఇన్ని ప్రేమ సినిమాలు ఫ్లాపవుతున్నా ప్రేమ సినిమాల్ని ఎలా తీసి నిలబెట్టుకోవాలో తెలుసుకునే ఆసక్తి గానీ, తీయగల నైపుణ్యంగానీ వుండడం లేదు. అసలు ప్రేమంటే ఏమిటో తెలియని పాత్రల చేత ప్రేమలో ఎదురయ్యే సమస్యలపై సందేశాలిస్తూ సినిమాలు తీసేయడం. కాలం మారిపోయినా ఇంకా పాతకాలపు ఫార్ములాలనే నమ్మి ఈ కాలపు ప్రేక్షకుల మీద రుద్దడం. ఆ సమస్యలు కూడా రెండో మూడో వుంటాయి. వాటిలో కుల సమస్య ఒకటి. కుల సమస్యతో మొట్టమొదటి 'మాలపల్లి' నుంచీ అడపాదడపా సినిమాలు వస్తూనే వున్నాయి. ఆ సినిమాలు వేరు, దాన్ని సక్సెస్ ఫార్ములాగా నమ్మి ఇప్పుడు తీస్తున్నవి వేరు. 1980 లలో కోడిరామకృష్ణ తీసిన 'అదిగో అల్లదిగో' లాంటి చెంపపెట్టు లాంటి సినిమాలు తీయాలంటే ఇప్పుడు భయం. అందుకని డిబేట్ జోలికిపోకుండా సులభంగా తప్పించుకునే మార్గంగా హింసని చూపించడం. హింసాత్మక కులాంతర ప్రేమలు తీసి బయటపడాలనుకోవడం. ఇలా అనుకుని తీసిందే 'మది' అనే మరో కులాంతర ప్రేమ సినిమా. ఇదెలా వుందో చూద్దాం...

రాజమండ్రిలో అభిమన్యు(శ్రీరామ్ నిమ్మల), మధు (రిచా జోషీ) ఇద్దరూ గాఢంగా ప్రేమించుకుంటారు. చదువు పూర్తి చేసి వైజాగ్ లో ఉద్యోగం వస్తే మధుని వదిలి అయిష్టంగా వైజాగ్ వెళ్తాడు అభిమన్యు. ఈ దూరం వాళ్ళ ప్రేమని ఇంకా పెంచుతుంది. ఇక పెళ్ళి చేసుకోవాలనుకుంటారు. కులాలు వేరని మధు తండ్రి వీళ్ళ పెళ్ళిని తిరస్కరిస్తాడు. మధుకి బలవంతంగా వేరే సంబంధం చూసి పెళ్ళి చేసేస్తాడు. ఇది తట్టుకోలేక పోతారు అభిమన్యు, మధు. ఇక ఏమయితే అయిందని తమ ప్రేమ సంబంధాన్ని కొనసాగించాలని నిర్ణయాని కొస్తారు. అలా పెళ్ళయిన మధు, మధుని పెళ్ళాడ లేకపోయిన అభిమన్యూ యథావిధిగా ప్రేమించుకోవడం మొదలెడతారు. ఇదెలాటి ప్రేమ? దీని పరిణామాలేమిటి? భవిష్యత్తేమిటి? ఇది ఏ ముగింపుకి దారి తీసింది? వీటిని తెలియజేసేదే ఈ కథ.

ఎలావుంది కథ

టైటిల్ ట్యాగ్ లైన్ లోనే 'ప్రేమ- విరహం- ప్రళయం' అని ట్రాజడీ వుంది. దీన్ని 'ప్రేమ- విరహం- ప్రణయం' గా యూత్ మార్చుకోలేరనే నెగెటివ్ మెసేజ్ వుంది. ఇలాటి ప్రేమల జోలికి పోకుండా యూత్ ని భయపెట్టించే కుల వాదంతోనే ఈ కథ వుందని కొత్త దర్శకుడు గ్రహించినట్టు లేదు. మానవ సంబంధాలపై కుల ప్రభావాన్ని చూపిస్తూ, మారుతున్న కాలంతో బాటు ఆలోచనలు మారాలని చెబుతూనే, ట్రాజడీగా ముగించి ఏం చెప్పాలనుకు

న్నాడో అర్ధంగాకుండా చేశాడు.

పాత కాలపు ఆలోచనల వల్ల అభిమన్యు, మధులు ఎన్ని సమస్యలు ఎదుర్కొన్నారో చూపించడమే, చూపించి ఆ సమస్యల్ని గెలవలేక పోవడమే ముగింపుగా సరిపెట్టేశాడు. పెద్దల పాత కాలపు ఆలోచనలకి తమ కొత్త కాలపు ఆలోచనలలేమిటో వాటితో చెక్ పెట్టి గెలిచే విజేతల కథ గాకుండా పరాజితుల కథ చేశాడు. చెక్ పెట్టాలంటే డిబేట్ అవసరం. కానీ డిబేట్ కన్నా హింసే సులభమనీ, సినిమాటిక్ గా వుంటుందనీ భావించాడు.

అభిమన్యు, మధులకి సమస్యని గెలిచే భావజాలం లేదు. ఉన్నదల్లా ప్రేమే. ఇంత బలంగా ప్రేమించుకుంటున్నాం, మా ప్రేమని ఆమోదించమనే ఆక్రందనే. తమకేం కావాలో ఆ స్వార్ధమే తప్ప, అవతలి వాళ్ళకేమిస్తే సాల్వ్ అవుతుందన్న -విన్ విన్ సిట్యుయేషన్ వుండాలన్న ఆలోచనలేదు.

అభిమన్యు- మధుల సమస్య మొదలైనప్పట్నుంచీ ట్రాజడీ కథనంతో ప్రేక్షకుల్ని టార్చర్ పెట్టడమే ధ్యేయంగా పెట్టుకున్నాడు. సీన్లు, డైలాగులు పాత కాలానికి చెందినవి. వీటితో పిచ్చెత్తుతుంది. ఇది ఈ కాలపు సినిమా అన్పించడానికి గట్టిగా లిప్ లాకులు, వొత్తుగా హగ్గులు. ఇవి చూసి యూత్ పడిపోతారనా? ఈ సినిమాకి వాళ్ళు వుంటేగా? ఇలా ఎన్ని ప్రేమ సినిమాలు తీసినా యూత్ వుండనే వుండరు. వీటి సంగతి వాళ్ళకి బాగా తెలుసు. ముందు యూత్ 'మది' తెలుసుకుని 'మది' ని తీయాలి.

నటనలు -సాంకేతికాలు

ఉన్న కథాకథనాలైనా వేగంగా లేకపోతే నటనలేముంటాయి. ఉస్సూరన్పించే నటనలు. ఈ డల్ నెస్ ని లిప్ లాక్స్ తో, హగ్స్ తో తీర్చే ప్రయత్నం. ఇంకా పెద్ద బడ్జెట్ 'ఊర్వశివో రాక్షసివో' లో కూడా లిప్ లాక్సే, హగ్సే కాకుండా సెక్స్ ని కూడా కేర్ చేయలేదు ప్రేక్షకులు. ముందు అర్ధవంతమైన బలవంతమైన కథ- అది కూడా ఎంటర్ టైన్ చేస్తూ కావాలి. హీరో శ్రీరామ్ నిమ్మల పెళ్ళయిపోయిన హీరోయిన్ని ఎలా పొందాలనుకుం

టున్నాడో ఆ వ్యూహం లేకుండా, భగ్న ప్రేమికుడిగా ఎంత బాధ నటిస్తే ఎవరిక్కావాలి. అవతల హీరోయిన్ రిచా కూడా ఎంత ఏడుస్తూ వుంటే ప్రేక్షకులేం చేయగలరు.

ఇక ఇలాటి సమస్య వస్తే చంపాలనే అనుకోవడం. హీరోయిన్ తండ్రి హీరోని లేపేయాలనుకునే క్రూరత్వంతో విలన్ నటన. ఇలా నటీనటులు విఫలమయ్యాక, సంగీతం సెకండాఫ్ లో వచ్చే ఒక ఎమోషనల్ సాంగ్ తో మాత్రం బావుంది. విజయ్ టాగూర్ కెమెరా వర్క్ రాజమండ్రి, వైజాగ్ పరిసరాలతో బావుంది. మందకొడిగా సాగే ఈ సినిమా వేగం పెంచడానికి ఎడిటింగ్ కి అవకాశం లేదు. ఎందుకంటే ఎడిట్ చేస్తే మిగిలేదేమీ వుండదు. కొత్త దర్శకుడు నాగ ధనుష్ ముందు సినిమా రచన మీద పట్టు సాధించి, ఆ తర్వాత దర్శకత్వానికి పూనుకుంటే బావుంటుందేమో ఆలోచించుకోవాలి.

Madhi telugu movie review.

One of the notable features for Madhi is the BGM scored by PVR Raja not to mention the camera work by Vijay Tagore, who has beautifully captured the scenic locales of Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry. The editor too has done his job. However, the story had the potential of becoming a good plot, but for a few cliched parts. However, Madhi has all the ingredients of a filmy drama into which the lead actors have breathed life.

Madhi is a one time watch.

A small film titled, Madhi under the direction of Naga Dhanush has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Abhi( Sreeram Nimmala) falls for his neighbor Madhu( Richa Joshi). After being in love for four years, Abhi and Madhu reveal their matter to their parents but Madhu’s father rejects Abhi as he is not from their cast. Later, Madhu will be forced to get married to a person named Srikanth ( Srikanth). What kind of incidents happen in Madhu’s life after the marriage? Will she continue her relationship with Abhi? What is the role of Sneha( Sneha Madhuri Sharma), a common friend to Abhi and Madhu? To know that, you have to watch the film in the theatres.

Performances: Though Madhi is his debut, hero Sreeram Nimmala gave a good performance. Looks-wise, he is impressive and brings depth to a few key scenes with his acting.

Heroine Richa Joshi is cute on screen. The chemistry between the lead pair is an advantage for the film. Acting-wise, Richa gave a decent performance in her purposeful role.

Sneha Madhuri Sharam gets a meaty role as a common friend. Other artists such as Srikanth, Yogi Khatri are fine in their respective roles. Padding artists who played parent roles are apt as middle-class family members.

Technicalities: The cinematography by Vijay Tagore is nice as he showcased the entire film on a colorful note. Pradeep Jambiga’s editing is okay.

The music composed by pvr Raja is decent. While all the songs are placed well, the background score for crucial scenes in the second half register.

Costume designer Haneela did a good job. The production values for this limited-budget movie by Ram Kishan are okay.

Analysis: Written and directed by Naga Dhanush, Madhu is a youthful love story that addresses the hurdles in love and what kind of problems will the individual face after marriage. The director tried to explore a fresh point in the regular love story and succeed to an extent.

His dialogues on love and life are good and give a good message to youth but the pain in the lead character is not established in a proper manner. To summarize, Madhi is a youthful love drama that has a soul in it but the lack of effective presentation comes as a defect. If the team would have worked more on the key second-half proceedings, the result would have been even better.

Verdict: Tragic love story!

Month Of Madhu Movie Review: Love, loss and longing meet in this bittersweet yet triumphant tale

More often than not, films are built on logical foundations. Three-part screenplay, eight-sequence structure. It not only provides a clear path for filmmakers to tread upon but also, I guess, gives the audience something to look forward to as the film progresses through its runtime. But Month Of Madhu ( MoM ), despite having a definite pay-off, does not at all feel like it adheres to these said conventions. One major reason behind this could be the fact that we do not have an inkling of where this film is heading most of the time ourselves. The opening and closing scenes of the film — involving Lekha (Swathi) and Madhusudan Rao (Naveen Chandra) in 2003 and 2023 — are an example of how what you think will happen next in the film is so far away from what actually transpires on screen. And what happens in the middle sometimes qualifies way less as a middle, and more like standalone vignettes with their own beginning and ending.

Director - Srikanth Nagothi Lekha and Madhusudan exist in the limbo between separation and dissolution of marriage. In a tale Madhu tells multiple times, we find out that Lekha exited out of his life when he went to buy mutton. “I came home, and put the mutton in the fridge. When I looked around, she was not there. I never saw her again.” is Madhu’s version of the story, a narrative that reflects the very disbelief people come with when they ask, “Ok, but why are you guys getting a divorce?”. Lekha, on the other hand, is more dour and less theatrical when people ask, even give a ton of unsolicited advice about her personal life. The film never walks us through their marriage itself, only its genesis and broken fragments. But Lekha and Madhu, despite becoming social pariahs, are less interested in what society has to say about them and more about their own love. Madhu talks about how he only loved the way he knew to love, like the way his father loved his mother. We never see the father in the film, but we do get to know that the father, much like Madhu, was an emotionally abusive alcoholic.

Compared to Madhu, whose narcissistic, hard-drinking, pathological lying ways make him unlikeable and inaccessible, Lekha’s grief is more palpable and moving. In one part of the film, she says, “I lost all my patience. Only when I lost my patience, I learnt that love also has its patience.” In that one line, you see what all she possibly endured in the name of love, despite never actually seeing it. In a parallel played across timelines, we see Lekha telling someone that she thinks of Madhu way more than she thinks of herself in the past, which is immediately followed by a scene in the present where she tells a colleague who fancies her that he should never think about or love anybody more than themselves.

It is hard to understand why Madhu’s namesake and the film’s third character Madhumati — a teenage NRI who decides to spend a month in India after returning to the homeland for a wedding — features in this story. One way of seeing it is to see Madhu Jr as the kid Madhu and Lekha never had. But maybe we, the audience of the film, are all Madhus. We may not have any obvious connection to the films we watch or the art we consume and yet it passes by in our lives, keeping our loneliness at bay. Offering us company, connection and respite the way the Madhus in this film gave each other through their relationship. And loneliness is indeed a recurring theme in the film. At least two times in the film, Lekha tells people that it is better to be alone without being married than to be alone in a marriage. If Lekha wishes she could be seen by Madhu, Madhu Jr wishes she could be seen and understood better by her mother (Manjula Ghattamneni). Even the film’s supporting characters, which include a widowed yoga instructor and a cellphone shop owner who has a crush on Madhu Jr, are lonely in their own ways, hoping they get seen and acknowledged by those they love. Echoing the film’s various shades of loneliness and longing, Bhakta Ramadasu’s Paluke Bangaaramayena, a kirthana where a devotee keeps asking god why he does not respond no matter how many times he calls him, plays at different times throughout the film.

 By the end of it all, the film does offer a poetic closure to the Madhus’. The two endings, despite being different, reflect that differences between individuals who love each other does not necessarily need to distance people within a relationship and make them feel alienated. Yes, cause and effect exists but correlation is also not causation. Of course, what sets these two situations apart, is the effort one needs to put in to keep a relationship alive. Madhu Jr’s tale is barely coming-of-age. In a lot of ways, her arc is similar to that of Baby’s Vaishnavi. But what again, sets these two apart, is the gaze with which a director approaches depicting their respective characters. Is a woman bad just because she smokes, drinks and indulges in casual sex? For some, it is cause and effect. For others, correlation is not causation.

MoM is set in Visakhapatnam, and there is enough B-roll of the waves crashing against the shore, but it is way more than footage to display the location where the film is set. In a film framed as a series of memories, the waves are a poignant visual metaphor for the ebb and flow of time. MoM follows a non-linear format, but it feels less like a stylistic choice and more like an intuitive one. A memory of Lekha asking her mother why she makes idlis all the time is immediately cut to her telling her mother in the present that idlis is all she can make at the moment. Lekha’s brother (Raja Chembolu) coming to terms with his sister’s clandestine affair with Madhu is immediately followed by him refusing to accept the separation. It almost feels like the film’s characters are themselves driving the film, triggering what comes next with their memories, almost entirely the way we cut into our memories at different times in the present.

Madhu Sr is equally in denial for the most part about his marriage dying and is also seen in other stages of grief as well, right up to acceptance. At first sight, it almost feels like Naveen Chandra is playing some version of the character he has played in his previous films but Madhu is evidently a far deeper character, and Naveen is riveting to watch in the smaller, more subdued moments where the pathos is sometimes a bubble, other times a stream. Swathi is also amazing, filling Lekha with a measured strength in the face of severe judgment. Through Lekha, we understand best that marriage is a personal matter, not a societal one. And also that the pursuit of happiness and hope are its own forms of revolution. Madhu Jr is also an embodiment of this very pursuit, trying to find her footing amidst the conflicting value systems of the US and India. MoM displays no such struggles, standing defiant and strong in the face of conventions, both social & cinematic. The cost of an individual in a relationship and the price of an individual on their own are the key issues the film is always trying to figure out, but the experience it gives one at the end of it all is quite invaluable.

Month of Madhu weaves a poignant tale of two young souls who fall in love, only to grapple with the harsh realities of life and the uncertain future that unfolds before them. Their journey is shaped by encounters with old friends, family members, and new acquaintances who become integral to their story.

Madhusudan Rao( Naveen Chandra), finds solace in alcohol as he struggles to cope with the aftermath of his wife Leka's (Swathi) departure. Her departure is prompted by his uncontrollable anger issues, leaving him shattered.

However, Madhusudan's life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Madhu,(Shreya Navile), a 19-year-old teenager. The film delves into the intricacies of Madhusudan's divorce case and explores the twists and turns it takes, all while considering the reactions of pivotal characters like Lekha's protective brother Seenu(Raja Chembolu), and the determined lawyer Chalapathy, played by Raja Ravindra.

As the story unfolds, it raises questions about the connection between Madhusudan, the Yoga teacher Vasuki (Gnaneswari Kandregula), and Dakh (Raghav Rudra Mulupuru). Naveen Chandra displayed remarkable versatility in his role, effortlessly transitioning between various character variations and adopting different personas. As a young lover, he exuded charm and youthful exuberance that endeared him to the audience. In stark contrast, his transformation into a convincing portrayal of an alcoholic struggling through a divorce was both gripping and believable. Naveen Chandra's impeccable mannerisms and body language left an indelible mark on the silver screen. His ability to evoke attraction in love scenes and genuine fury when expressing anger added depth to his character. His eyes conveyed the right emotions and pain, accompanied by precise expressions that resonated with the audience.

Colors Swathi radiated youthfulness and vitality in romantic and love scenes, capturing the essence of her character beautifully. However, in the more somber divorce and courtroom scenes, she seemed slightly out of place, appearing older when juxtaposed with Naveen Chandra. Nevertheless, Swathi delivered a stellar performance during emotional scenes, effectively portraying the agony of dealing with her husband's anger issues.

Viva Harsha's portrayal of Naveen's loyal friend was commendable, skillfully embodying the role of a well-meaning but unsuccessful mediator in Naveen's turbulent life. Shreya Naveli brought a youthful and effervescent energy to her character, delivering bold and impactful dialogues with finesse. Raja Ravindra's performance as a lawyer was acceptable, while Raja Chembolu, with limited screen time as Swathi's brother, played his part convincingly. The rest of the cast performed admirably, staying true to their respective roles and contributing to the overall success of the production.

Month of Madhu Movie: Technicians Review

Srikanth Nagote's Month of Madhu tells a simple yet poignant romantic tale that delves into the journey of a young couple who defy parental wishes to follow their hearts, only to grapple with the harsh realities of married life. Srikanth narrates the love story of Naveen and Swathi with a captivating back-and-forth narrative style that maintains the viewer's interest without causing any confusion.

As Swathi patiently endures her husband's flaws up to a breaking point, the director masterfully highlights Naveen's struggle with anger issues and his excessive drinking habits. Through the character of Shreya Navile, the film challenges established norms with hard-hitting dialogues and scenes that showcase her straightforwardness catalyzing significant changes.

While these scenes hold the audience's attention, the film's repetitiveness and lack of unexpected twists, as well as an overemphasis on Shreya Navile's character over Swathi and Naveen, may lead viewers to feel that the story deviates from its core narrative. The first half progresses smoothly, albeit at a slower pace, and the second half's pacing drops even further. After a series of boozing scenes, the story culminates in a predictable manner, leaving viewers questioning why they invested over two hours for such an ending. The director missed an opportunity to infuse the script with more engaging elements.

Rajeev Dharavat's editing could have been more precise, as it includes several repetitive and unnecessary scenes that affect the overall flow of the film. On a positive note, Ravikanth Perepu's cinematography seamlessly complements the storyline, adding visual appeal to the romantic elements. Achu Ramani's music is noteworthy, skillfully blending Carnatic music into the narrative in an engaging and attractive manner. The background music effectively enhances the film's ambiance. The production values are commendable, contributing to the overall quality of the production.

In conclusion, Month of Madhu is a simple romantic story that explores the challenges faced by a young couple in love. While it succeeds in capturing moments of intensity and change, it could benefit from a more dynamic script and tighter editing to maintain viewer engagement throughout its duration.
