Short Paragraph on My Hobby (Cricket)

essay on my hobby cricket in 150 words

Here is your short paragraph on My Hobby (Cricket) !

Cricket is my favorite hobby and a famous sport too. It makes me feel healthy, fit and a stronger person. It makes me feel confident and proud of what I am. I started playing cricket when I was a kid of 7 years old.

My cricket passion started when I was a small kid and I started playing this game with my elder brother in the back side of my home.

At that time also I was a good player in comparison to the children of my age. May be because I love to play cricket and I play it too seriously focusing on each and every ball.

ADVERTISEMENTS:

Like many other people in India I was also aspired to play for my country. My days were never complete without cricket I used to play with my friends after my school hours were over. I use my left hand to hold the bat & bowl the ball which many people found strange but I was comfortable playing. Later with time I learnt to play cricket well and started participating in my school teams. I was appreciated by the match viewers as I used to be the highest score holder of the match. I was identified as the best bowler of the Lawrence School (my school) at the age of 14 which was a great achievement for me and my parents in the year 2000.

My favorite cricket player is SachinTendulkar. During my farewell I was also honored with a certificate to appraise my contribution to my school cricket team. My cricket skills helped me to flatter Susain (my first girlfriend) when I was 20 years old. Later when I was 22 years old I became a part of Vishvya Bhartiya Vidya Sansthan & represented my teams in several tournaments.

But unfortunately we didn’t achieved much. I was disheartened and then Susain too left me because she dint find me her hero anymore. She thought I am a big looser. Later I took training from Sir Josheph. He taught me so many minute things and trained me to play perfectly. Today I am a member of Nitya Nanayang Polytechnic team. I am proud to be a part of this team.

Our team is gradually growing day by day. We are playing many cricket matches at national level. My aim is to play internationally.

An Essay on Cricket – 350 Words

I am the Captain of my school cricket team. Our school arranged a learned coach a few months ago to groom our team in the art of Playing. Accordingly I can boast with humility that our team is quite prepared to match any other cricket team in this area of our State. Lest anybody should deem my assertion an empty boast, I here describe a match which our team played with a rival team recently. It is a matter of just Sunday last. I had invited the team of the government school to play a friendly match with our school team. Match was played in our school playground. Our team won the toss. We decided to bat first all the players on both sides and the umpires and the referee took up their positions. The referee blew the whistle and the match started. Our openers Punit and Amit reached the pitch with beaming faces. As the first bat was thrown by the bowler, Praveen, Punit sent the ball swirling towards the boundary. Clearly, it was a fourer. The playground which was packed to capacity resounded with applause. In this way, Punit amassed thirty six runs. There was suddenly a note of dismay when he was caught out by Keshev of the rival team. Amit , however, continued. He played slowly and continuously. He scored 29 runs before he was bowled out. Before lunch our team had scored 202 runs in all in 40 overs. After lunch, the rival team started batting. Our team realized that the rival team was not that weak as we had thought them to be. Soon, they scored 53 runs. My mates began to show the signs of getting unnerved. But I bucked them up. I also brushed up fielding by changing the players. Suddenly, our crack bowler, Sandeep, showed his mettle when he felled down four wickets in quick succession. The rival team crashed like a house of cards and finished at 172 in 37 overs. We won the match All the team members hugged one another. There was rejoicing all around as the place hummed with the slogans!

Long Essay on Cricket- 500 + Words

From the earliest days of its development in England to its current global status, cricket has become one of the world’s most beloved sports. Originally played by members of the British upper class, it has since spread across the globe to become a popular pastime for fans all over. The rules and regulations that govern cricket have been honed over centuries, making it a unique and exciting experience for all who take part. Let’s explore the history of cricket, from its origins through to contemporary developments in the sport.

What is Cricket?

Cricket is a sport played by two teams of 11 players each, with the aim of scoring more runs than the opposition. The game is played on a circular field, often called a cricket ground or pitch. At either end of the pitch are wickets which consist of three wooden stumps and two bails. The objective in cricket is to score as many runs as possible while minimizing how many times you lose wickets. One team bats first while the other one bowls and fields, trying to get the opposing team’s batters out before they can score too many runs. In order to score runs, players must hit the ball bowled towards them with their bat and run back and forth between the two wickets at opposite ends of the pitch. Fielders try to catch or stop balls that have been hit so that they can prevent runs from being scored. Cricket is a complex yet captivating sport that requires strategy, skill and teamwork for success

The History of Cricket

The History of Cricket edumantra.net

Cricket is a sport that has been played for centuries and its exact origins are still debated. What we do know is that it originated in England during the 16th century, and was initially played by children. The first official cricket match took place in 1844 between two teams of Englishmen. But before this, the game had already spread to other parts of the world including India, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the West Indies. In fact, cricket became particularly popular in colonial India where it was introduced by British soldiers. It soon became a national obsession with millions of Indians following their team’s every move. Throughout its history, cricket has undergone many changes and transformations. From being a sport only for amateurs to becoming professionalized with international matches being held regularly. Today Cricket continues to be one of the most beloved sports around the globe with billions tuning into major competitions like the World Cup. And while there have been controversies throughout its history- from match-fixing scandals to disputes over rules- nothing can change how deeply ingrained this beautiful game is in our culture.

An Overview of The Rules of Cricket

Cricket is known for its complex rules and regulations that can be difficult to grasp for someone who is new to the game. Here’s a breakdown of the key rules that govern cricket matches. The two teams consist of eleven players each, with one team batting while the other fields. The goal of the batting team is to score as many runs as possible while the fielding team tries to prevent them from doing so. Each innings consists of six deliveries called ‘balls’. Once all six balls have been bowled, this completes an over. Each team has a set number of overs they must bowl or bat during their innings, depending on the format being played. During play, there are several ways in which a batsman can be dismissed – caught out, bowled out, run out or stumped by the wicketkeeper. The fielding team will try everything in their power to get each batsman out as quickly as possible. One unique aspect of cricket is that it allows for draws under certain circumstances. This usually occurs when both teams have scored an equal number of runs at the end of their allotted overs. Understanding these basic rules is essential if you want to fully appreciate and enjoy watching cricket matches!

How to Play Cricket

Cricket may seem like a complex game, but it’s actually quite simple once you understand the rules. The main objective is to score runs by hitting the ball and running between two sets of wickets. To start off, there are two teams with 11 players each. One team bowls while the other bats. The bowler throws or “bowls” the ball towards the batter who tries to hit it as far away from fielders as possible. If the batter hits the ball within bounds and runs to the opposite end of their pitch before being tagged out by a fielder, they score one run. If they hit it beyond certain boundaries without touching the ground first, they can score four or six runs depending on where it lands. The bowlers try to prevent batters from scoring runs by bowling strategic deliveries such as Yorkers, bouncers, and slower balls that make it difficult for batters to connect with or hit far away. Fielding involves positioning players in strategic positions around the field to catch incoming balls, tag out runners returning between wickets or stop balls from reaching boundaries. Cricket requires teamwork and strategy both when batting and bowling which makes for an exciting game enjoyed worldwide!

Getting Selected for Cricket in India

The Indian cricket team selects its players through the BCCI’s zonal selection policy. In this policy, there is one selector for each of the five zones, and the BCCI appoints one member as the chairman of the selection committee.

The Traditional Way

If you are a normal player hopeful of getting selected in India Cricket Team one day, then the traditional procedure for you is to begin from playing in your school or club level cricket team. Not only that, you must also make a mark by playing in local tournaments and get noticed. If you play good enough, you will be selected for the under 13 cricket team of your district. Remember this all has to happen during your early teens.

After getting selected in District under 13 team, you need to maintain your form and get selected for under 13 state team from then on moving up to under 16 and then under 19. The Indian under 19 cricket team is selected out of the state under 19 teams that play against each other.

There are many factors that come into play here including your luck, skills and competitors.

The Non-Traditional Way

If for some reason you cannot get into the cricket teams by the traditional ways as described above, there is still hope, but I must remind you that the nontraditional way is very difficult and no one, not that I can remember, had been selected this way.

You begin with enrolling in a good cricketing club in your city or town and practice for unusually longer hours. In fact, practice is what you must be doing 24/7, and money also should not be a problem for you. All you should be caring about is your fitness and game.

Thereby, by performing well in club cricket, you should get noticed by the upper-division teams. If you are lucky enough you will be asked by the team to join them. From there on it all depends on you and by performing extraordinarily you can play for state team or the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Cricket is one of the most popular sports of the world and offers an extraordinary career option. However, the key to become a successful cricketer is to practice hard and also to start early in life. If your are passionate about cricket and in your early teens the chances of your getting selected in the under 19 India Cricket Team one day are brighter.

My Hobby Essay

People like to practice their hobbies when they have leisure time. It cheers them up and keeps them occupied. Everybody needs a pastime to keep them happy in this drab working environment. Hobby almost immediately springs to mind. Many people have numerous interests. Here are a few sample essays on “My Hobby”.

100 Words Essay On My Hobby

200 words essay on my hobby, importance of reading books, 500 words essay on my hobby, my beginning at the game, why playing cricket is my hobby, becoming a cricketer.

My Hobby Essay

A hobby or something you enjoy adds interest and charm to your day. I'm going to talk to you about my favourite pastime, which is dancing. Today, practically everyone is so busy keeping up with their busy schedules that they feel short of time. Similar is the case with me, as I need to devote a huge amount of time to my studies, entrance exam preparations, and coaching. However, I ensure that I spare at least 30 minutes a day to dance. Dancing relieves me of the day’s stress and I feel energetic to swiftly finish all tasks at hand. I am a good dancer, and have been awaredec various prizes in school for my wins in different competitions.

Out of my many interests, I would call reading my favourite hobby. I like to read for fun. Reading not only makes us happy but also broadens our understanding. Reading is a crucial activity that aids in developing skills and is beneficial. A good book makes us happy and also expands our knowledge. I make sure that I read at least for an hour everyday, which is usually before going to bed. Reading at bedtime not only relaxes my mind, but also welcomes a good night’s sleep.

Why it is important to read books is because:-

Expands Knowledge | We know that reading books broadens our understanding of various topics. Different books touch upon different themes. Some educate us in Hindi, while others instruct us in Math or English.

Enriches Vocabulary | We pick up new words through reading books. It assists us in incorporating numerous unique and valuable terms into our daily lives.

Gives Peace | There is no physical exercise involved in reading books; instead, it is a very relaxing habit. It can be carried out in total silence and promotes inner tranquilly.

Fosters Imagination | Reading is a great way to improve our imagination, since, it is natural for human beings to create visuals in their mind of what they read in text. So, the more one reads, the more they imagine.

If I have to choose one out of all my hobbies, I will choose cricket. One of the most well-known sports in India is cricket. It is one of the sports practised widely in practically every country. The equipment needed for this activity is a wooden bat and a ball. There are two teams in this game, each with eleven players. The goal of this game is to score the most runs possible. This game is played outside on a field maintained explicitly for the occasion.

I have many interests, but I enjoy playing cricket the most. It also keeps me energised and helps me feel stronger and healthier. My interest in cricket began when I was just five years old. I was drawn to it as a sport and was enthralled by this activity. I used to be so hurried when I got home from school that I would play cricket right after eating my supper. I was a well-known student-athlete at the school.

Dhoni: My Inspiration

Like many other people, I was inspired to start playing by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former Indian cricket team captain. My goal is to play like Dhoni. Even though I’m generously appreciated by my spectators during my matches, I am usually never delighted. I've always aimed to outperform myself. My love of cricket helped me become well-known in my school. In addition, I received a certificate commending me on the day of my school farewell.

Cricket, like any other physical sport, has several advantages for the physical and mental health of those who play it. Some of the benefits of playing cricket are listed here:-

Playing cricket is enjoyable.

Cricket builds stamina.

Brings balance and coordination between mind and body.

It improves our physical fitness.

Even domestic cricket players have the potential to make a nice living. A cricket player's life is incredibly glitzy and regal.

We seldom have time to ourselves in the hectic and competitive world. Our schedule becomes incredibly dull and repetitive over time. We must indulge in something in between to keep our ideas lively and fresh. What could be better for this than a hobby? Having a hobby significantly reduces stress is one of its main advantages. Everyone has something they love to do in their free time. For me, that’s my hobby. It’s like a fun break from all the regular stuff I do every day. When I spend time on my hobby, I feel happy and relaxed. It’s special to me, and I can’t wait to tell you more about it!

My Hobby Paragraph 100 Words

I love dancing! When I dance, I feel like I’m flying. It’s not about doing perfect moves, but about having fun and feeling the music.

I might not be a professional, but every time I dance, I forget all my worries. Sometimes, I dance in my room, just moving to my favorite songs.

Other times, I join my friends and we dance together, laughing and enjoying. Dancing makes me feel happy and alive.

It’s more than just a hobby for me; it’s a way to express myself and feel free. Every time I dance, it’s like telling a story without words.

My Hobby Paragraph 150 Words

My Hobby Paragraph 150 Words

Gardening holds a special place in my heart. Every time I step into my garden, I feel an instant connection to the earth.

The sensation of soil slipping through my fingers, the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, and the subtle fragrance that lingers in the air are therapeutic.

Gardening isn’t merely about planting seeds; it’s about nurturing life and watching it flourish.

Every day, I eagerly inspect my plants, witnessing the tiny miracles of growth.

I’ve learned patience, as not all plants bloom at the same rate, and resilience, as not every seedling makes it.

The joy of witnessing a bud blossom or harvesting my own vegetables is unparalleled.

This hobby teaches me about the delicate balance of nature and the importance of care and dedication.

For me, gardening is not just a pastime; it’s a profound journey, an intimate dance with nature that enriches my soul.

My Hobby Paragraph 200 Words

I love reading books. It’s my favorite thing to do. When I open a book, I feel like I’m going on a fun adventure. Whether it’s a story about pirates, princesses, or animals, I can imagine myself right there in the action.

Books take me to different places and times. Sometimes, I get to be a brave knight in a castle, or an astronaut in space. Other times, I learn about real people and the great things they’ve done.

Reading isn’t just fun; it’s also good for my brain. Books teach me new words and help me understand more about the world. When I read, I learn how to think better and solve problems.

I like holding a real book in my hands, turning the pages, and feeling the paper. E-books are okay, but there’s something special about a real book.

Sometimes, I read alone in my room, and sometimes I read with my family. We all like talking about the books we’ve read.

Reading books makes me happy, and I want to keep doing it forever. It’s more than just a hobby for me; it’s a big part of who I am.

I really like listening to music. For me, it’s like a fun friend who is always there. When I listen to songs, I feel all kinds of emotions. Some songs make me want to dance and jump, while others make me feel calm and relaxed.

Music can tell stories. Sometimes, when I hear a song, I imagine different places or picture fun stories in my mind. It’s like watching a movie, but just with sound.

I also learn about different people and places from music. There are songs from all over the world! It’s cool to think that people far away, who speak different languages, also enjoy music just like me.

When I’m feeling sad or tired, music helps me feel better. It’s like a warm hug for my heart. And when I’m happy, music makes me even more excited and cheerful.

I also like sharing songs with my friends and family. We sing together, dance, and sometimes even go to concerts. It’s fun to see live music and watch people play instruments.

In short, listening to music is my favorite hobby. It makes me happy, helps me relax, and is always there for me. Every day, I discover new songs, and I can’t wait to hear more!
