The 75 th Indian Independence Day will be celebrated on 15 th August 2022. It is going to be big this year since the diamond jubilee celebrations are on the way. The Indian army, the freedom fighters whom we lost, and some of whom are still alive, and the Indian culture and history will be nurtured and celebrated this year as well.

It was Shri Narendra Modi, our Prime Minister, who started the official Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 12th March 2021, starting the journey from Sabarmati Ashram. In order to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence, he started off a 75-week-long festival.  This is supposed to continue for 75 long weeks till the 75th Indian Independence Day and will extend another year to end on 15th August 2023.

Mahatma Gandhi began the Dandi Yatra on 12th March 1930. He started the march from the Sabarmati Ashram, keeping in mind the cause of awakening self-reliance and self-respect in his nation. Incidentally, our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, started the symbolic Dandi Yatra on this very day in 2021. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav marked the beginning of the revival of Indians’ journey towards self-reliance and self-respect.

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga Campaign 2022

The Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Din Tiranga campaign aims to instil a sense of pride and love for our nation in the citizens, who will keep a tricolour flag in their houses 365 days of the year. This seems like a great initiative to keep reminding the citizens that they live in a colourful nation breeding love, unity, and diversity.

The campaign is urging all Indian citizens to start a mass movement to commemorate our 75th Independence Day. They can do this by hoisting or putting up tricolour flags in their homes and putting up tricolour images as their profile pictures on social media handles.

Previously, the Tricolour flag could only be hoisted between Sunrise and sunset. However, this year it is not the same scenario. People are allowed to hoist the flag all day long.

The Flag Code for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022

Following are some of the rules laid down by the Indian Government in 2021 for the hoisting and display of the Indian tricolour flag from then onwards:

The flag shall be either hand spun, hand woven, or machine made using cotton/polyester/wool/silk khadi bunting.

Any member of the public, private, or educational organisation can hoist or display the national flag on all days and occasions, be it ceremonious or otherwise.

The flag can be hoisted and displayed day and night if it is an open area where people can watch.

The flag can be of any size, but it has to be rectangular in shape with a length-to-width ratio of 3:2.

In a time of display, the national flag needs to be positioned appropriately and should appear distinctly.

People should not display a damaged or dishevelled flag.

No other flags should be hoisted or displayed from the masthead where the Indian national flag is hoisted.

There should be no other flag or bunting hoisted above or side by side with the Indian national flag.

No other citizens, except dignitaries like the President, the Vice-President, the Prime Minister, Governors, etc., should not fly the national flag on their vehicles.

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a government initiative to commemorate the 75th or diamond jubilee year of Indian Independence Day , where the festivities will continue for 75 weeks until 15th August 2023, which is a year from now. This is a great approach to instil a sense of love, respect, pride, and responsibility towards the nation in Indian citizens, kids and adults alike. It is an important step to revive the culture and history of Indian Independence and other aspects as well. People are urged to take an active part in this campaign turned mass movement to do their part.

There is no doubt that India has a rich historical consciousness and a rich cultural heritage to be proud of. In addition, it is not wrong to assert that nations’ future can only thrive when they are always engaged in the proud tradition of their past.

People sacrificed their lives fighting for the freedom of our country, and even after so many struggles and hard times everyone rallied and kept raising slogans for the freedom of our country, and it is because of them that we are free today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav event commemorating the 75th anniversary of independence by flagging off a padayatra (freedom march) from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Essay on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Essay on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in English 500 Words

Azadi’s Amrit Mahotsav is a celebration of the inspiration that comes from independent fighters, and it is this inspiration that embodies the elixir of freedom. A long time ago, the Indian people had been oppressed by foreigners.

Foreigners had given them instructions and orders, and the people had carried out their own work on them. Their constant thought was to be free and independent. Their confidence about fighting increased as the days passed.

It has been estimated that 30,000 Indians have died during the liberation movement, many of whom were young. Some of these movements have been successful and others have not been. The Indians were extremely strong during the liberation movement, and they fought their enemies fiercely until the very end of the war.

Over one hundred years ago, India struggled and sacrificed in order to achieve freedom, which laid the foundation for a new independent nation that we know today.

The Amrit Festival of Independence is celebrated and prepared by the entire country, regardless of caste, religion, or state. By examining Mahatma Gandhi’s and other freedom fighters’ struggles, the film shows how Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had an impact on movements, marches, and struggles of freedom.

It is a day where all government institutions participate in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence with great enthusiasm. In order to give children an understanding of how hard it was for India to gain independence, and the number of people who died, schools prepare extensively and tell stories about it during the freedom struggle. A national flag is hoisted by all government organizations and they organize programs to honor the nation’s heritage.

This festival includes a number of cultural events that are geared towards the children, such as music, dance, and plays, as part of the celebration. As Corona banned rallies in its entirety, rallies continued to be held wherever rallies were permitted, and political parties celebrated Amrit Mahotsav as well, in order to educate the public about this festival.

The Amrit festival is more than just a celebration of a single caste. It is a celebration of the whole nation, since during the struggle for freedom there was no specific faith or caste involved, but the whole nation united in order to gain freedom from British rule.

By celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, all those who fought for freedom and yearn for freedom are able to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. In addition, this is accomplished by nurturing patriotism among the people as well as martyrs.

Furthermore, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence can serve as an excellent source of information for the young generation of India, providing a detailed account of the struggle for independence and the obstacles that prevented India from becoming independent until today.

To be able to inspire people, it is necessary to remember our past as well as our future. We are inspired by our past and how it has shaped our future.

In the year 2023, the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav will mark the 75th or diamond jubilee year of Indian Independence Day. The festival will last for 75 weeks until 15th August 2023. Using this method, Indian citizens, both children and adults, will be instilled with a sense of love, respect, pride and responsibility for their nation.

To revive Indian culture and history, as well as other aspects, is an important step. It is encouraged that people take an active part in this campaign turned mass movement.

Amrit Mahostav Essay

The future of a nation is bright only when it remains connected moment by moment with the pride of its past experiences and heritage. We all know that India has a rich historical consciousness and an immeasurable store of cultural heritage to feel proud of.

To witness this historical, cultural, national consciousness, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav’ program dedicated to the 75th anniversary of independence by flagging off a padayatra (freedom march) from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Azadi’s Amrit Mahotsav began 75 weeks before the 15th of August 2022 and will last through the 15th of August 2023.

The Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi means the elixir of inspiration from the freedom fighters. The elixir of freedom means the elixir of new ideas, the elixir of new resolutions, the elixir of freedom is the festival ie – the elixir of self-reliance.

Freedom Struggle

Amrit mahotsav essay.

The freedom struggle of 1857, Mahatma Gandhi’s return from abroad, reminding the country again of the power of ‘ Satyagraha ‘, Lokmanya Tilak’s call for “ Purna Swaraj “, Azad Hind Fauj’s “ Delhi March ” under the leadership of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose . Who can forget the slogan of “ Delhi Chalo “.

To save this pride of history, every state, in every field is making efforts in this direction. The country has completed the restoration of the Dandi Yatra site only two years ago. In Andaman, where Netaji Subhash had hoisted the tricolor by forming the country’s first independent government, the country has also given a grand shape to that forgotten history.

The islands of Andaman and Nicobar are named after the freedom struggle. Work has been completed on all memorials, whether in Jallianwala Bagh or memory of the ‘ Paika-movement .’ The country has also developed Panchtirth in the places associated with Babasaheb that had been forgotten for decades.

Every citizen of India can never forget the call of Lokmanya Tilak’s ‘ Purna Swaraj ‘, ‘Azad Hind Fauj’s ‘ Delhi Chalo ‘, Quit India Movement . We take inspiration from Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Rani Laxmi Bai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Pt. Nehru, Sardar Patel, Ambedkar .

Amrit Mahotsav essay- Awakening

There were men, women, and youth from every corner of the country who sacrificed innumerable austerities to liberate India.

The work of continuously awakening this flame of the freedom movement, east-west-north-south, in every direction, in every field, was done by our saints-mahants, acharyas.

In a way, the Bhakti movement had prepared the backbone of the nationwide freedom movement.

Salt was a symbol of India’s self-reliance at that time when Gandhiji traveled to Dandi and broke the salt law. Along with the values of India, the British had also attacked this self-reliance. The people of India had to depend on salt coming from England.

Gandhiji understood this old pain of the country, caught that pulse related to the people. Seeing this movement became the movement of every Indian, it became the resolve of every Indian. Here salt means loyalty.

Even today we say that we have eaten the salt of the country. Not because salt is something very precious. This is because salt is a symbol of labor and equality for us.

When we think of the era of British rule when millions of people were waiting for independence, this makes the celebration of 75 years of independence even more significant. The Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi will give the inspiration to move forward by keeping the dreams and duties of independent India in front of the country along with the freedom struggle.

It is the good fortune of all of us that we are witnessing this historic period of independent India in which India is touching new heights of progress. Today’s India has got its name written in the front line in the world. On this virtuous occasion, we pay our homage at the feet of Bapu and bow down to the feet of all the great personalities who led the country, who sacrificed themselves in the freedom struggle of the country.

Amrit Festival of Freedom (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav)

It is an attempt to thank those people. Because of which we are breathing in independent India. It is time to remember that freedom is not to be taken lightly, the martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve it.

Essay On Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav In 500+ Words

Introduction {Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: The person of My Inspiration} On the auspicious occasion of this nectar of independence, I have the opportunity to express my thoughts in the form of an essay.

So moving forward in this context, I would like to write today about a personality whom I consider to be the person of my inspiration in this life and I am trying to follow the path shown by him.

He was a personality who was intelligent, brilliant as well as very diplomatic by nature. He was born on 31 October 1875 in Gujarat. We know him as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sardar Patel, Iron Man, and Bismarck of India.

I would like to quote his statement here: “This soil has something unique, which, despite many obstacles, Always remains the abode of great souls”.

Although there are innumerable qualities inside Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, his style of speaking was very amazing which impresses me a lot.

And through this influential style of speaking, he brought his voice to every corner of the country and brought awareness among the people, and gave freedom to the country.

Sardar Patel was very much influenced by the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and he used to follow the ideologies of Gandhi. He considered Mahatma Gandhi as his elder brother as well as a guru.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in providing independence to the country. And with this, after the independence of the country, through his diplomatic power, he should get 565 Princely States merged into India.

This shows that he believed in “Unity in Diversity”, so we can say that Sardar Patel’s aim was to make India a united India.

Sardar Patel, along with being a famous freedom fighter, was also the first Home Minister of India, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1991.

Following the path of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel performed a Satyagraha at a place called Bardoli in Surat, and upon success in it, the women of Bardoli gave the title of “Sardar” to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

From the year 2014, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel started to be celebrated as “National Unity Day”. In 1920, at the time of the Salt Satyagraha against the British, Sardar Patel was jailed along with Gandhiji for 3 months.

The ideology of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel impresses me a lot. Seeing their love and dedication towards the country, I feel strong as well as motivated from the inside.

Sardar Patel while expressing his views about his country says that: We should know our country, we should live, we should expand ourselves, I may have been born in one state, I have grown up in one language.

But this is my country, everything belongs to me, I have to Should be connected with the country by heart. This sense of pride shows us the way to live the “mantra of unity”.

I consider Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as my inspiration and I expect myself to follow the path shown by him. Jai Hind…

INTRODUCTION

The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a festival that honors the strong will of those who fight for freedom. Freedom is about having fun or being able to do things on your own. India was hurt by the actions of people from other countries for a long time. People were sick of getting orders from foreigners and doing what they said. Their thoughts kept returning to the idea of freedom and being able to do what they wanted. As time went on, they could turn their passion into the confidence they needed to go into battle.

India tried many things to gain independence, some of which worked and others didn’t. Even though many Indians, including some who were still young when they died, were killed in the name of freedom, all of those who did so issued a grave challenge to the enemy and fought them passionately until they took their last breath. After a lot of work and a battle that lasted more than a century, India won its independence and set up the foundation for an independent India.

STRUGGLE FOR FREEDOM

Many things have been done to honor and remember the sacrifices of those who fought for independence. Mangal Pandey, Tatya Tope, Rani Laxmi Bai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Pt. Nehru, Sardar Patel, and Ambedkar are some of the people who have inspired us. Many places across the country have been set aside as memorials to those who fought for freedom during these wars to reach this goal.

During the 1857 independence campaign, when Mahatma Gandhi came back from abroad, he reminded the people of the power of “ Satyagraha ,” Lokmanya Tilak’s call for “Purna Swaraj,” and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s “Delhi March.” “Delhi Chalo” was a slogan that no one could forget.

People in every field and state work hard to keep this sense of historical pride alive. The country has finished restoring the site of the Dandi Yatra, which happened just two years ago. Andaman, where Netaji Subhash set up the country’s first independent government by raising the flag, has also given a great shape to a past that had been ignored.

Andaman and Nicobar are the names of two islands that got their names during the fight for independence. There won’t be any more memorials at Jallianwala Bagh or in honor of the “Paika-movement” because both projects are done. Also, the country has built Panchtirth in places connected to Babasaheb that had been forgotten for a long time.

AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV PROGRAMS

The Prime Minister of India officially started the “Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” project on March 12, 2021. (Narendra Modi). This effort will keep going until the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. This program, called Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, will teach younger people about the sacrifices that freedom fighters have made in the past and show appreciation for those people.

At this year’s Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, the Indian government will hold many events and activities to honor and celebrate India’s 75th anniversary of getting its freedom. In this way, the Indian government has set up a high-level committee to plan events for the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. This committee has 259 members, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in charge.

Many freedom fighters or unsung heroes have had to give up their way of life or even their lives to help India become independent. The Indian government wants to honor and recognize people like these heroes. The program aims to make young people more aware of and interested in the development and progress of the country. The Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav also wants to help the Indian business and industrial sectors grow so that India can reach the state of self-sufficiency known as Atmanirbhar Bharat as soon as possible.

After the government’s decision, there will be five essential things that will happen. Here is a list of all of their names:

1. The Fight for Freedom: On the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence, this book offers new ideas for the country’s growth.

2. Accomplishments at 75: These things were finished by the time the country had been independent for 75 years.

As we move forward with Ideas at 75, we can think of new ways to make India a better place.

4. Actions at 75: What could be done to mark the 75th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence?

5. Resolve at 75: What decisions do we as citizens of a country have to make on the 75th anniversary of our government to help it grow in the right direction? This question is about how we will celebrate the 75th birthday of our country.

This festival of freedom, called Amrit Mahotsav, is happening at these five bases. Right at the start of the Amrut Mahotsav of Independence, a website with the domain name india75.nic.in went live. In it, the idea of a better India is talked about. The recent things that have happened in India will also be talked about. It includes every country and every language. This website will also talk about India’s role on the international stage. Freedom fighters will be inspired by the nectar of liberty, which is also the nectar of new ideas and decisions.

Under its name, the Departments of Higher Education and School Education and Literacy has set up a wide range of activities for the public. There will be a wide range of social and cultural events at this festival and displays of the latest scientific and technological advances. So, the Mahotsav (terrific celebration) will be held as a “Jan-Utsav,” which means a ceremony of the people of India, with the real meaning of “Jan-Bhagidari,” which means that we are all members and shareholders in the growth of our country.

The theme of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is one. “Making Bharat Vishwa Guru” is the name of this project, which is similar to “Atmanirbhar Bharat.” India has a long and exciting history that goes back thousands of years. It has been the “Viswa Guru” for the whole planet for many decades. India, one of the most influential civilizations and a center of knowledge, saw the grandeur of the world’s social, cultural, intellectual, and political dominance and dominance.

In India, sacred texts like the Vedas and the Upanishads were written while people in other parts of the world worked in dark caves to keep a fire going. India is the best country in the world in terms of size, culture, wealth, knowledge, and skill. No other country comes close. We had to go through terrible things for two hundred years. We found ourselves in a place that looked like a colony.

When the British left, they divided the country into two parts based on where they were. But they couldn’t break the spirit of a country that hadn’t been split up yet. People haven’t had freedom for 75 years, but it still stands. Because our culture allows it, now is the time to return to where we used to be. Let’s get India back to the respect it used to have. India has become a beautiful country over the last few hundred years. Our country’s creative solutions can help us solve some of the most critical problems we face right now.

Prime Minister Narendra has also started a “Har Ghar Tiranga” program to put the Indian flag above every home. Let’s stop this nonsense and return to the respected name “Viswa Guru.”

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi came up with the idea for Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and proposed it (2014-2019). It is also known as the Clean India Mission in some places.

Our Nation of India got its freedom from the British on August 15, 1947, after two hundred years of mistreatment and slavery at the hands of the British. When our country got its freedom for the first time, the economy passed down to us was not well-developed or productive.

From the time we got our independence until now, our economy has grown a lot, but this growth is not enough. Our goal should be to make India the most powerful economy in the world by 2047 when India has been free for a hundred years.

The celebrations for India 2047 start with the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” event, which praises India’s efforts and successes since its independence and celebrates its 75 years of growth. The event honors India’s development, the steps it has taken, and the things it has done since it became independent. This event encourages us to work together and do real things to get back to where we belong. It makes us want to find out about our hidden skills and skills we may not have known we had.

There is no denying India’s rich traditional consciousness and rich cultural heritage. Furthermore, it is not incorrect to claim that a country’s future can only prosper if it continues to uphold the happy traditions of its past.

People gave their lives in the name of our nation’s liberty, and even after so many hardships and struggles, everyone banded together and continued to shout for it. It is because of them that we are completely today.

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off a padayatra( flexibility protest ) from Sabarmati Ashram to begin the Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav celebration of the 75th anniversary of freedom.

Amrit Mahotsav, also known as the” elixir of inspiration from liberation fighters ,” by Azadi, was published 75 weeks prior to August 15, 2022, and it was completed on that date.

To maintain patriotism and foster a more sensitive and sensible community, we may continue to celebrate this festival for as long as we can. Since democracy, which has been 7 years ago, 3 generations have arrived and need to learn about the second generation who gave their lives for the nation without thinking about their own possessions.

By portraying the emigrants of freedom fighters and demonstrating their commitment to the land, a Mahotsav aims to help us understand the value of generosity and passion for one’s country.

Essay on Mahotsav Azadi Ka Amrit

English 500 Word Essay on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

Amrit Mahotsav by Azadi is a celebration of the ideas that comes from separate fighters and represents the drink of independence. The American people had long ago been subjected to oppression by immigrants.

The people carried out their own work on them after receiving instructions and directions from immigrants. Their continuous goal was to live a free and independent life. As the weeks went by, they became more confident in their ability to fight.

According to estimates, the independence movements resulted in the deaths of 30, 000 Indians, many of whom were younger. These activities have had some success and others not. During the independence movement, the Indians were very powerful, and they fought their foes ferociously right up until the very end of the conflict.

India fought and gave up more than a century ago to become free, laying the groundwork for the modern-day separate state.

Irrespective of race, religion, or condition, the whole nation celebrates and prepares the Amrit Festival of Independence. The movie demonstrates how Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose had an effect on actions, marches, and challenges of independence by examining Mahatma Gandhi’s and additional freedom fighters’ struggles.

All federal organizations participate enthusiastically in the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence on this day. Schools prepare heavily and tell tales about the freedom struggle in order to help students understand how difficult it was for India to achieve independence and how many people perished. All government agencies raise a regional symbol and set up initiatives to preserve the country’s history.

As part of the event, this festival features a number of social activities geared toward children, including plays, music, and dance. In spite of Corona’s complete ban on demonstrations, they persisted wherever they were allowed, and political events also celebrated Amrit Mahotsav to inform the public about this event.

More than just one race is honored at the Amrit event. Since there was no particular belief or class involved in the struggle for freedom, it is a celebration of the entire country. Instead, everyone worked together to free themselves from British rule.

All those who fought for and yearn for liberty can achieve their goals and dreams by commemorating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Additionally, this is achieved by fostering martyrdom and loyalty among the populace.

Additionally, the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence can be a great source of information for the country’s younger generation by giving an in-depth accounts of the fight for independence and the roadblocks that have kept India from achieving liberation up until this point.

It is necessary to realize both our past and our future in order to be able to inspire others. Our history and how it has influenced our future serve as our sources of inspiration.

The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2023 will commemorate the 75th or stone centenary year of Indian Independence Day. The event will run for 75 days starting on August 15, 2023. This approach will instill a love, respect, delight, and responsibility for their country in American citizens of all ages.

An essential step is to bring back American history, culture, and other factors. It is urged that everyone participate actively in this campaign-turned-mass action.

Be it the birthday of any person, the wedding anniversary of any couple, the establishment of any institution, initiation of any work or business, people always look forward to celebrating it with extra zeal. The landmark year of 75 years is known as the ‘Diamond Jubilee. Based on this tradition the Government of India decided to celebrate the 75 years of Independence of India, which will be attained in 2022, with great enthusiasm.

With the motive of giving tribute to freedom fighters, our Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi, launched the “Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Initiative” in 2021. Through Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, India is celebrating the rich and glorious history of its people, culture, and accomplishments. It is an incarnation of all that is progressive about India’s socio-cultural, political, and economic identity. The five main pillars of this initiative are Ideas@75, Achievements@75, Actions@75, Resolve@75, and Freedom Struggle.

The initiative “Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Essay in English)” was officially announced on the 12th of March 2021 by the Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi which will continue till the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day. The dynamics of events are mainly focused on the achievements attained so far and their importance and also on what we intend to achieve in the future to take India’s progress to great heights.

This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who were the torch bearers in bringing India to this level where it is today and also the people, who are the front liners, now leading the journey of India’s success. This mission named India 2.0, will be achieved with the help of a scheme – Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Essay in English)” began on 12th March 2021 from Sabarmati Ashram when Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi flagged off a 75-week long festival to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence. This 75-week countdown will end post a year on 15 August 2023. The day March 12 was chosen because, on March 12, 1930, Mahatma Gandhi launched a non-violent Satyagraha and started Dandi Yatra from Sabarmati Ashram against the British taxes on salt.

So, on this day in 2021, the symbolic Dandi Yatra was started by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi which marks the reinforcement of our journey of self-respect and self-reliance with the beginning of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Essay in English). In this regard, the government of India has set up 259 members high-level committee, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence.

In this era of internet and technological advancement, the Mahotsav began with the launch of a website called www.india75.nic. . The theme of the site is ‘A better India’. This web portal will also be used to project India on the global stage where its developments, plans, and strategies will be discussed. It will include all languages and all states. The crucial events related to our freedom struggle will be focused such as Gandhi’s return from abroad in 1857, the freedom struggle of 1857, and “Purna Swaraj” call of Lokmanya Tilak, the “Delhi Chalo” campaign under Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose among others.

The Dandi Yatra site was restored recently for this purpose. The next big thing is that all memorials related to Jallianwala Bagh, Paikka Movement, ‘Delhi Chalo’ of Azad Hind Fauj, ‘Purna Swaraj’ of Lokmanya Tilak, and the Quit India Movement of Mahatma Gandhi have been constructed.

It was after more than 100 years of struggle and sacrifice, that India gained independence. People of all states, religions, and castes, take part in the celebration and the entire country prepares for the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration. Government institutions, Schools, and Colleges celebrate the Mahotsav with much enthusiasm and showcase dance and drama based on the freedom struggle so that the new generation can understand the value of independence, and the struggle and sacrifice done by our forefathers. The National Flag is also hoisted followed by various patriotic programs in all government organizations and educational institutions. Political Parties also celebrated Amrit Mahotsav, and hold rallies to explain to the public the significance of this festival of freedom.

The key idea behind this initiative is to instill the feeling of patriotism and commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. This whole exercise will motivate us to become sensible citizens of the country and play an active role in its development and progress. Only through our collective determination, effective action plans, and proper efforts, can we achieve the desired result to make India strong and more powerful than before. One of the important motives behind this celebration is to highlight the contributions of unsung heroes of the freedom struggle.

Photo exhibitions are organized to show the contribution of Lala Lajpat Rai, Lokmanya Tilak, and Bipin Chandra Pal, famously known as Lal-Bal-Pal before the arrival of Gandhiji through historical photographs. The photo exhibition also shows the revolutionary contribution of Mangal Pandey, Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, Swami Vivekananda, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Raja Rammohan Roy, Khudiram Bose, Veer Savarkar, Kartar Singh, Annie Besant, and others. The important movements led by Gandhiji are also depicted in the exhibition photo series in chronological order.

Few of these important events from the Non-Cooperation Movement (1921) to Dandi Satyagraha (1930) include Champaran Satyagraha (1917), Kheda Satyagraha (1918), and Jallianwala Bagh Nar-sanhar (1919). Apart from this, the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Rajguru, Sukhdev, and others are recalled through photographs.

With our constant endeavour, effort, and determination we have been able to make India reach new heights of progress. Our tribute goes to Mahatma Gandhi and all the great leaders and martyrs of this country’s freedom struggle on this virtuous occasion. As the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival celebrates 75 years of the journey of progressive India and commemorates works and achievements since Independence, it is also beginning of the celebration of vision India @2047. This festival inspires us to revive our hidden strengths and encourages us to take sincere, synergetic action to reclaim our prestigious place in the world forum.

Kranti smarak.

Dhule, Maharashtra

April 19, 2024 to April 19, 2026

On April 14, 1944, the Revolutionaries of Prati Sarkar organized a daring act near the Hatnur bus stop, along Maharashtra State Highway MSH1, in Dhule district, Maharashtra. This location, now marked by a Kranti Smarak, celebrates their valorous deed. The Smarak features three arches and a central statue symbolizing the Kranti Jwala, reminding visitors of the bravery displayed on that fateful day.

Initially planning to raid a treasury in Sakri village, the revolutionaries received intelligence about a significant British treasure being transported from Dhule to Nandurbar via a passenger train. Quickly changing their plans, they intercepted the train near Chimthane village. Amidst a staged quarrel, the revolutionaries attempted to stop the train peacefully. However, when the driver refused to comply, Nagnath Anna took decisive action, fatally shooting the driver.

With the train halted, the revolutionaries seized £5,510 in treasure. They divided the spoils amongst themselves before dispersing towards South Satara via different routes. This bold act struck a decisive blow against British tyranny, showcasing the determination and fearlessness of the revolutionaries.

Every year on 14 April, people gather at the Kranti Smarak to commemorate the event, celebrating Kranti Diwas and honouring the bravery of those who fought for independence.
