If you decide to do this, it’s important to remember that disabling reviews means that you won’t be able to showcase positive reviews either. And with fewer reviews, fewer people will trust your brand and your search engine rankings will suffer as a result.

Nevertheless, if you’re adamant about never having to deal with negative reviews, this is the best way to achieve that goal.

To do this, simply go back to the Reviews tab on your business page and click on the Settings button.

From there, uncheck the box that says Edit page and then switch the Show reviews slider from ON to OFF.

Click Save and you’re done!

You can turn your reviews back on at any time through this same function.

Step 3: Flag the review you want to have removed

If you decide that you want to keep reviews enabled but still want to remove a specific review, you can flag it for removal.

The key to responding to negative reviews is to do so in a way that doesn’t worsen the situation. Even if the customer or client was in the wrong, avoid getting into a back-and-forth argument, especially if it is in direct response to the comment on your public business profile.

Instead, apologize for whatever issue they experienced. Thank them for bringing it to your attention, and let them know that you’re working on a resolution.

Then, offer to make things right by giving them a refund, coupon, or special offer of some sort.

For example, a reviewer who had a bad experience using your online consulting service may write:

“I paid for a one-hour consultation and the person I spoke to barely gave me any time at all. It was a waste of money.”

In this case, you might respond with something like:

“I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good experience. We pride ourselves on providing quality service, so I’m sorry that we fell short in your case. As a gesture of good faith, I’d like to offer you a full refund for the consultation fee. I hope this will help alleviate some of the frustration you experienced.”

To reach out to the reviewer personally, you can click on the three dots in the top-right corner of their review and select Message .

This will open up a direct message window where you can privately communicate with the reviewer. You can also email them if you have their contact information.

This is especially effective if you offer some sort of incentive, like a discount or coupon, for those who take the time to write a positive review.

Why my reviews get deleted without them containing any spoiler or abusive stuff.

Earlier if any of my review got deleted, i used to come to know which one got deleted thru my profile page but not now.

Recently I put up a review of this movie Atrangi Re.

My review got more than 400 likes and later all of a sudden my review got deleted without it containing any spoilers or abusive stuff.

Pls look into the matter as earlier too the same problem has happened with my other reviews inspite of them getting thousands of likes.

Now if the makers of the movie or some fanboys are not happy cos of me criticizing the movie, then what's the point of writing our options/reviews.

Thank you for looking into but there are more review than the three you mention. These reviews were done in the 1990's if that helps.

Are you able to confirm if IMDB's policy is to remove the reviews after a certain period of time? Because this is what seems to be happening.

Concerning your User Review for "Atrangi Re", I can see that this review was removed because it did not focus on the title's content and context, but rather on the physicality of one of the performers.

The volume of the deleted reviews itself speaks that people are reporting my reviews on the basis of their non approval of my opinions.

Recently too, the review of the movie 83 keeps on getting deleted.

Can you please share IMDB's policy stating that a review must focus on the title's content and context.' It seems unlikely that all of Fella_shibby's reviews would be removed for the same reason.

Are these policies or contributor rules available for users to read and familiarise themselves with? I myself never come across these as I'm sure many other contributors and would be great if you could share these.

Amazing point u highlighted there, my friend.

Just cos people associated with the movies don't agree or respect the reviews, they report n get it deleted.

The system/algorithm is flawed.

I tried an experiment, i reported one review and stated that it has racist comments (the review never had any racist comments).

The next day the review got deleted.

Felt bad for the reviewer but I needed to perform this experiment to check the flaw of the algorithm.

Maybe it's even more easier for producers n actors to get our negative reviews deleted cos they are using IMDb pro.

I understand you were innocently testing, but I discourage you from testing on valid User Reviews as it does violate our policies to remove valid data from the site.  T

he purpose of User Reviews is to allow users to freely express their opinions about films, as long as the comments follow our content guidelines , we will not edit or remove them and we don't discriminate based on the style or tone of the reviews.

Do you recall the specific title and user name of the contributor of the review?  If I have this information I can investigate the incorrect removal further.

Based on the above information, anybody not in favour of a review can report it and have it removed instantly without IMDB investigating or confirming the reasons.

This means that if I want to be the top reviewer, all I need to do is click report on the top reviewers and have their reviews deleted, making me climb to the top.

The issues here are that IMDB claim that they allow their users to express their opinions freely but at the same time IMDB don't report to the reviewer that this has occurred. How can we express freely our opinions and perhaps even be given the opportunity to defend our review. It seems like you're hoping the reviewer won't notice, which is what has happened here (for years).

IMDB's approach is deceptive and misleading due to failure to inform the parties involved of what is actually happening to their reviews.

I know that you most likely won't respond to this post just as you haven't to my previous post requesting clarity on IMDB's policy about reviews. Maybe you're hoping this will go unnoticed as well.

This thread was started a year ago and it seems like every attempt has been made to evade the issue or get it resolved.

I think its very easy to get someone's review deleted or maybe IMDb listens to producers, star cast n peope associated with the movies cos these fellas must be using IMDb pro.

No wonder, none of the IMDb employee is looking into my matter now.

Why I Finally Deleted 33,000 of My Old Tweets

Deleting 33,000 tweets is tricky business. If you want to do it for free, you might choose to go tweet by tweet. Get very good at it, and you might be able to delete a tweet every six seconds. With no breaks for sustenance, for sleep, or to use the bathroom, you could excise all 33,000 in just over two days. Alternatively, you could find some code on Reddit that purports to do it for you. You’ll have to open up the webpage’s source code while browsing on X, the site once called Twitter , then paste in a big block of code. However, the developer warns that doing this might violate the platform’s terms of service and get your account banned. You want to lose only your old tweets, not the ability to tweet.

Eventually, you will give in and pay a few bucks—maybe $7 a month—for a service like the accurately named TweetDelete . You will need a copy of all your Twitter data to upload to the site, and that will take about a day to obtain from your settings while the company compiles and packages it. But you will get it eventually.

Then, the fun begins.

Since Elon Musk restricted developers’ access to Twitter’s application programming interface—otherwise known as API —your tweet deletion service will erase tweets at a contemplative pace. (For me, it appeared to delete 50 tweets in short bursts 15 minutes apart.) Fortunately, you don’t have to keep the site open. A week or so later, the job will be done, tens of thousands of tweets lost to the ether. I preserved the past few weeks’ worth because a totally empty feed seemed too sterile, like an empty apartment in a bustling city.

Why go through all of that trouble? The historical reason is that old cautionary tale: You’ve been on social media for a while. You may have said things you regret, and rather than look through your posts with a fine-toothed comb, you nuke everything in the name of reputation preservation. But that’s not why I recently found myself jonesing to eliminate piles of my own tweets. I wanted to be free of them because, in a Muskified Twitter world, my old tweets were making the internet—and my experience on it—worse.

To be clear, I’ve said many things I regret on Twitter. For starters, any serious fight I got into was a waste of my and my fellow combatants’ time. But my account has 32,000 followers —and most of them have followed me for years. That crowd’s big enough to get me in trouble right then and there if I really step in it. The thousands of tweets just sitting on my account were mostly anodyne: me sharing links to stories I’d written or commentating on live football games in ways that wouldn’t make sense years later. (I wonder which NFL teams were playing when I tweeted “that’s a catch” on a Sunday in 2021.)

There would ordinarily not be any harm in letting those tweets stay there forever. But under Musk’s stewardship of the company, a few developments have made me much less interested in leaving them on the platform. One consideration is just aesthetic. An interminable army of spambots, posting full-frontal porn and crypto scams, now descends on a significant fraction of my posts.

At my most vain, I think of my best old tweets as clever works of wit that I’d like to preserve. In reality, many old tweets are like abandoned houses, and not even particularly nice ones. There are weeds growing in the replies and bots posting asbestos in the walls. My digital sidewalk is no longer clean. Musk has mused before about eliminating the site’s blocking feature, and that could make the scene under existing tweets so much messier. I do not feel like maintaining a breeding ground for tacky internet vandalism.

Meanwhile, Musk has drifted right and become an enthusiastic booster of antisemitic and white replacement drivel . Leaving up old tweets now directly benefits Musk in a few ways. He could make money by selling (increasingly sketchy-looking) advertisements that appear among those tweets in search results. Musk has also been developing a janky chatbot on the site, called Grok . The bot produces a lot of poor writing that summarizes posts on topics it thinks will be of interest to a given user, and it also comes up with stories that aren’t just incorrect but dangerous. The bot trains on what people post on X , making all our old tweets potential collaborators in whatever Musk does with the robot.

I somehow doubt that scrubbing old posts will prevent A.I. from taking a Terminator arc if that is what the machines eventually want. But I’d rather not aid Musk in developing what is, at best, annoying software that has already made a popular social media site less usable.

Purging my old tweets felt like a tiny contribution toward a slightly better internet, but the biggest reason I wanted to get rid of them was personal. Under Musk, X has moved toward an algorithmic model designed to hook users in the style of TikTok or Instagram. Users still have the classic option to see only posts by people they follow, in chronological order, but the platform’s For You feed, full of posts it thinks you’ll like, has become increasingly prominent. The For You feed can be intoxicating, particularly on the occasions when it assumes (correctly) that I’m interested in posts on topics that aren’t banal.

I’m convinced that the algorithm has made me less optimistic about the world by showing me the most outrage-inducing opinions about serious issues. My hope is that by deleting a weeks-old quote-tweet of some doofus urging that the National Guard be deployed to fire on college students in tents, I’ll be shown fewer tweets by doofuses going forward and I will be less angry when I look at Twitter. In the same spirit, I’m working to get rid of all my old “likes.” As far as the algorithm is concerned, I’d prefer to be unpredictable, or at least get a fresh slate. I don’t want the new Twitter to know what’ll keep me “engaged,” which, in my history on the site, has been a synonym for “annoyed but having difficulty looking away.”

All of that might sound as if it’s not worth the squeeze. Why, a wise person might ask, should someone spend any time at all in a place that can so easily bring them to anger?

The simple answer is that a reasonable person wouldn’t, but a lack of reason is also why Twitter maintains a small but mighty user base. Twitter is perpetually a car fire, and its biggest advantage is that humans enjoy rubbernecking. The effort required to delete tweets is absurd, but the lift to build enough self-control to leave the site altogether is much more daunting. And if you cannot extract your future self, you can at least remove your past self. It’ll just cost you seven bucks and maybe a few weeks of waiting.

Prosecutors say it’s entirely possible they could rest their case by the end of next week. Here are the takeaways from day 15 of the Trump hush money trial:

Cohen is on deck: Donald Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen is expected to take the stand Monday and testify to his role in negotiating the hush money payment to Stormy Daniels on Trump’s behalf, as well as how he was reimbursed through retainer payments in 2017 that are at the heart of the charges against Trump. However, his testimony comes with baggage. Cohen himself was federally charged with campaign finance violations, tax crimes and lying to Congress in previous testimony. He’s changed his story as he turned from loyal Trump defender to a chief antagonist after  pleading guilty to the federal charges in 2018 . Cohen’s credibility with the jury may make or break Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case, so it will be high stakes for the prosecution when Cohen is sworn in.

Judge to Cohen: Please stop talking: Trump attorney Todd Blanche urged Judge Juan Merchan to order Cohen to stop talking about the trial and Trump. Trump is not allowed to talk about Cohen because of the gag order in place. But, Blanche said, Cohen is nevertheless allowed to attack him. Assistant District Attorney Joshua Steinglass responded that prosecutors have repeatedly instructed Cohen and all of the other witnesses in the case not to speak publicly about it. “The fact of the matter is, we have no control over what they do,” he conceded. Merchan has already said he cannot gag witnesses in the case. But he sympathized with Blanche’s position and said that he would “direct the people to communicate to Mr. Cohen that the judge is asking him to refrain from making any more statements” about this case or Trump.

Trump is all smiles at testimony of former White House aide: Trump exchanged smiles with his former White House assistant Madeleine Westerhout, who wrapped up her testimony Friday that began one day prior. She raised her eyebrows and smiled at Trump who smiled back at her and mouthed something as she left the courtroom. Westerhout testified that she remembered Trump was upset after the Daniels story came out in 2018. She testified that Trump signed scores of documents a day while multitasking on the phone or in meetings, and she said she’d seen him signing checks without reviewing them.

Prosecutors introduce key text and call records into evidence: After Westerhout left the stand, prosecutors spent the rest of the day calling custodial witnesses to introduce cell phone records into evidence. It made for a dry day of testimony, but it also provided key evidence that prosecutors plan to use to convince the jury that Trump is guilty of falsifying business records.

Prosecution may rest next week: Steinglass said that prosecutors expect to call two more witnesses, and then rest. “And I think it’s entirely possible we will rest by the end of next week,” he added. When the prosecution rests, it will be Trump’s turn. It’s not clear how long he will put on a case in defense – a question that is likely to rest largely on whether or not Trump himself takes the stand.

Donald Trump's longtime assistant, the former banker of Trump's attorney Michael Cohen and adult film actress Stormy Daniels are among witnesses who have taken the stand so far in the hush money trial.

As of Friday, here's everybody we've heard from so far:

  • David Pecker — the former CEO of American Media Inc., the National Enquirer's parent company — was the first witness called to testify. After more than 10 hours of testimony across four days, he offered illuminating details into how the infamous tabloid operated and conducted so-called “catch and kill” operations.
  • Rhona Graff , Trump's longtime assistant at the Trump Organization, was called to testify briefly on April 26.
  • Gary Farro , the former banker of Cohen, walked the jury through Cohen’s bank activity around the payment to Daniels.
  • Keith Davidson , the former lawyer for model and actress Karen McDougal as well as for Daniels, was on the stand for nearly 6 hours   over two days.
  • Douglas Daus works for the Manhattan District Attorney's High Technology Analysis Unit, and was assigned to analyze two iPhones that  belonged to Cohen  in the investigation related to Trump. They were obtained via a search warrant. Daus testified about the  "unusual" amount of contacts  and other things he found on Cohen's phone.
  • Hope Hicks , Trump's longtime former aide, testified for a little less than three hours about her role as Trump’s 2016 campaign press secretary, the aftermath of  the “Access Hollywood” tape release  and Cohen's payment to Daniels.
  • Jeffrey McConney , a former Trump Organization controller, testified about  how Cohen's payments were listed  in Trump's financial documents.
  • Deborah Tarasoff, the accounts payable supervisor in the accounting department at the Trump Organization, explained how checks were cut to Cohen  in 2017 and testified that  invoices over $10,000  had to be approved by Trump or one of his sons.
  • Sally Franklin , the senior vice president and executive managing editor for Penguin Random House publishing group, testified for  46 minutes . Prosecutors used her testimony to enter  excerpts from Trump’s books  into evidence. 
  • Stormy Daniels, who's at the center of the hush money case, was on the stand for 6 hours and 10 minutes over two days of testimony. Daniels walked the jury through details about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006 and the $130,000 hush money payment from Trump's ex-attorney Michael Cohen shortly  before the 2016 election . Trump attorney Susan Necheles hammered down on Daniels in cross-examination to establish some of the ways she gained publicity and money from her story going public.
  • Rebecca Manochio , a junior bookkeeper at the Trump Organization, testified for about 35 minutes. The prosecution used Manochio to submit invoices , documents and emails as evidence.
  • Tracey Menzies , the senior vice president of production and creative operations at Harper Collins, spoke about one of the books Donald Trump co-authored, “Think Big: Make It Happen in Business and Life,” by Trump and Bill Zanker and read excerpts from the book.
  • Madeleine Westerhout , a former personal assistant to Trump at the White House, detailed how the president preferred to work, his attention to detail and the reaction to the "Access Hollywood" tape.
  • Daniel Dixon , an AT&T lead compliance analyst. He was used to enter phone records into evidence.
  • Jennie Tomalin, Verizon senior analyst in executive relations, was also called to the stand to enter evidence into the records.
  • Georgia Longstreet, who testified on May 3 and May 10, gave evidence about social media posts and text messages.
  • Jaden Jarmel-Schneider , another paralegal from the Manhattan district attorney's office, testified about analyzing phone records entered into evidence on May 10.

Trump laments his gag order: "Everybody can say whatever they want"

As Donald Trump left court Friday, he lamented his gag order while others say "whatever they want."

"Everybody can say whatever they want," he said. "But I'm not allowed to say anything about anybody."

"It's a disgrace," he added.

He went on to show clips of stories criticizing the case, including from Jonathan Turley and Sean Hannity. Trump also repeatedly attacked President Joe Biden and took credit for the stock market going up, claiming it's a response to his leading in the polls.

During the trial on Friday, CNN's reporters saw Trump going through a large pile of clips.

Judge Juan Merchan says that he would "direct the people to communicate to Mr. (Michael) Cohen that the judge is asking him to refrain from making any more statements" about this case or Trump.

Prosecutors say they've "repeatedly" asked their witnesses to not talk about the case

Trump attorney Todd Blance is asking Judge Juan Merchan to order the prosecution to instruct Michael Cohen, who is expected to begin testifying Monday, not to talk about this case.

The defense team is asking "the court order the government to instruct the witness to not talk about President Trump or this case until the case is over," Blanche says.

Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass responds saying they have "no control" over what witnesses do.

"We have repeatedly — repeatedly — asked the witnesses not to do that," he says, adding prosecutors "have repeatedly instructed all of the witnesses in this case to the extent we have control over it."

Defense attorney asks judge to put gag order on Cohen

Trump attorney Todd Blanche is now moving on to ask that the judge put a gag order in place so Michael Cohen cannot speak publicly about the case.

Blanche points to the TikTok Cohen posted this week wearing a white T-shirt with a picture of Trump behind bars. He's also asking for the judge to order the prosecution to instruct the witness not to talk about this case.

Cohen is expected to begin his testimony on Monday.

We found a way to escape Meta AI on Facebook - but there's a catch

If you've browsed Facebook or Instagram within the past few weeks, you've probably noticed some changes. Thanks to the introduction of Meta AI , artificial intelligence is now integrated into posts on your feed and the search function on both sites.

Meta calls the assistant a way to "get things done, learn, create, and connect with the things that matter to you." Meta AI works much like ChatGPT and other popular AI tools, but many have voiced frustration with accidentally tapping on a query below a post and engaging the chatbot or trying to search for a profile and running into the chatbot instead.

So what's the deal? Can you turn off Meta AI?

It turns out you can't. There's no way to disable Meta AI from either Facebook or Instagram in either the browser version or the app version. I asked Meta AI if I could disable it, and the chatbot responded that I could.

"Select Settings and Privacy," it said, "Then click on Settings and scroll down to AI settings and click on AI and machine learning." From that screen, I should "Toggle off AI search," the bot told me. Here's the thing: There are no further settings for AI within the main Settings page, and the toggle the chatbot mentions doesn't exist. 

Meta AI's help page  states that "Meta AI's responses may not be accurate or appropriate." That seems to be the case here.

Two "tricks" have been spreading on social media for disabling the feature, but neither worked when we tested them. Blocking the Meta AI profile on Facebook or muting it might give you a little hope when it takes away the new AI search icon and replaces it with the old magnifying glass, but if you actually press it, you land in the same place -- Meta AI search.

The one way to avoid Meta AI 

If you're willing to use a very stripped-down version of Facebook, you can visit  http://mbasic.facebook.com . That version looks pretty bad on mobile and even worse on a desktop browser, but the functionality is there if you're adamant about avoiding Meta AI, which you will not find there.  

The good news is that you can still search Facebook via the Meta AI tool. On Facebook, there's an animated blue ring where the search button used to be. Tap it, and you'll see a search bar that says, "Ask Meta AI anything." If you start typing someone's name, profiles will pop up as usual. If you're looking for a specific post or picture, that functionality works as it did before. So while the search button might not be as obvious, once you know where it is, the search process works just like it did before.

There is some value in using Meta AI. You can use it through Messenger or WhatsApp to write content, generate images, and plan events. The chatbot can offer ideas and make suggestions below most Facebook or Instagram posts that tell you more about a certain aspect of that post. If a friend posts about seeing the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., for example, you might see a suggestion to ask when the best time to see them is.

While the chatbot might be confusing at first, it appears that Meta AI is here to stay -- whether you like it or not. The big question is: Will users eventually embrace, or ultimately avoid, Meta AI across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp?
