निबंध गद्य रचना को कहते हैं जिसमें किसी विषय का वर्णन किया गया हो. निबंध के माध्यम से लेखक उस विषय के बारे में अपने विचारों और भावों को बड़े प्रभावशाली ढंग से व्यक्त करने की कोशिश करता है. एक श्रेष्ठ संगठित एवं सुव्यवस्थित निबंध लेखक को विषय का अच्छा ज्ञान होना चाहिए, उसकी भाषा पर अच्छी पकड़ होना चाहिए. प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की अपनी अभिव्यक्ति होती है. इसलिए एक ही विषय पर हमें अलग-अलग तरीकों से लिखे गए निबंध मिलते हैं.

किसी एक विषय पर विचारों को क्रमबद्ध कर सुंदर, सुगठित और सुबोध भाषा में लिखी रचना को निबंध कहते हैं.

अनेक विद्वानों द्वारा निबंध शब्द की प्रथक प्रथक व्याख्या की है-

• निबंध अनियमित, असीमित और असम्बद्ध रचना है.
• निबंध वह लेख है जिसमें किसी गहन विषय पर विस्तृत और पांडित्यपूर्ण विचार किया जाता है.
• मन की उन्मुक्त उड़ान निबंध कहलाती है.
• मानसिक विश्व का बुद्धि विलास से निबंध है.
• सीमित समय और सीमित शब्दों में क्रम बद्ध विचारों की अभिव्यक्ति ही निबंध है.

अच्छे निबंध की विशेषताएं (Characteristics of Essay in Hindi)

एक अच्छे निबंध की प्रमुख विशेषताएं निम्नलिखित हैं.

• निबंध की भाषा विषय के अनुरूप होनी चाहिए.
• विचारों में परस्पर तारतम्यता होनी चाहिए.
• विषय से सम्बंधित सभी पहलुओं पर निबंध में चर्चा की जानी चाहिए.
• निबंध के अंतिम अनुच्छेद में ऊपर कहीं गई सभी बातों का सारांश होना चाहिए.
• वर्तनी शुद्ध होनी चाहिए तथा उसमें विराम चिन्हों का उचित प्रयोग किया जाना चाहिए.
• निबंध लिखते समय शब्दों की सीमा का अवश्य ध्यान रखना चाहिए.
• निबंध के लेखक का व्यक्तित्व प्रतिफल होना आवश्यक है.
• निबंध अधिक विस्तृत न होकर संक्षेप में होना चाहिए.

मुख्य रूप से निबंध के तीन अंग होते हैं- भूमिका, विस्तार और उपसंहार.

भूमिका विषय प्रवेश है. इसमें विषय का परिचय दिया जाता है. यहीं से निबंध प्रारंभ होता है. यह जितना आकर्षक होगा, लोगों को निबंध पढ़ने में उतना ही अधिक आनंद आएगा. भूमिका छोटी और सारगर्भित होनी चाहिए. भूमिका ऐसी हो जिसे पढ़कर पाठक पुरे निबंध को पढ़ने के लिए प्रेरित हो सके.

यह निबंध का मुख्य अंग है. इसमें विषय का वर्णन विवेचन होता है. जो सामग्री आपके पास है उसे क्रमबद्ध कर लीजिए तथा अलग-अलग अनुच्छेदों में प्रस्तुत कीजिए. इसके विवेचन में पूर्वापर क्रम होना चाहिए. प्रत्येक दूसरा अनुच्छेद पहले अनुच्छेद से सम्बद्ध होना चाहिए.

उपसंहार निबंध का अंतिम अंग है. यहां तक आते-आते विषय की चर्चा समाप्त हो जाती है. यहां तो निबंध में कही गई सही बातों को सारांश रूप में प्रस्तुत किया जाता है.

निबंध के भेद

विषय के प्रतिपादन की दृष्टि से निबंध के चार प्रकार माने गए हैं.

वर्णनात्मक निबंध

इस प्रकार के निबंधों में स्थानों, वस्तुओं, ऋतुओं, दृश्यों, त्योहारों आदि का वर्णन किया जाता है. जैसे होली, दीपावली, दशहरा आदि.

विवरणात्मक निबंध

इन निबंधों में घटनाओं, यात्राओं, उत्सवों तथा व्यक्तियों के परिचयात्मक निबंध लिखे जाते हैं जैसे रेल यात्रा, विद्यालय का वार्षिकोत्सव आदि.

विचारात्मक निबंध

इसमें किसी विचार, समस्या, मनोभाव आदि के विषय में परिचयात्मक, व्याख्यात्मक अथवा विश्लेषणात्मक लेखन विचारात्मक निबंध कहलाता है. जैसे दूरदर्शन और शिक्षा, मित्रता, विज्ञान के लाभ और हानि आदि इसी प्रकार के निबंध के उदाहरण है.

भावनात्मक निबंध

निबंधों में भाव की प्रधानता रहती है. ऐसे निबंधों में परोपकार, सदाचार, देश प्रेम और राष्ट्रभाषा आदि विषयों के निबंध आते हैं.

In English, we place the adjective first, which is then followed by the noun in a sentence. For instance, “tasty fruit” (adjective + noun).

But when this same phrase is put into a proper sentence, the noun and adjective change their positions while the helping verb comes in between: “The fruit is tasty,” (noun + be verb + adjective).

However, in the following Hindi adjectives examples, this process is a little different than how it is in English.

In Hindi grammar, adjectives precede the noun in phrases.

• नीला आकाश ( NiiLaa aakaas ) = “blue sky” [adjective + noun]

• And यह बग़ीचा (noun) सुन्दर (adjective) है। ( yah bagiicaa SuNDar hai. ) = “This garden is beautiful.”
