To most people, surviving after graduation is tough and highly dreaded, for others, it’s, even more, tougher because, during school days, they totally failed to plan. How to cope with life after school is sometimes tough if the right foundations are no put in place, life is not a bed of roses after school, different people meet different opportunities and different forms of luck, this is one of the reasons why even though as mates, some become more successful than others and some end up totally as failures even after leaving the four walls of the university.

Different challenges may arise depending on factors such as location, family and relationships, skills, and the individual involved. This makes it more difficult to know how to cope with life after school, each of these factors plays a significant role in how successful an individual becomes after graduation. None should be taken for granted, never. This is the beginning of all your regrets after school.

Be careful! There is going to be a bulk of disappointment after school for those that have laid a proper and those with the right connection. You will fail in over 80% of the job you apply for, except there is the right connection for each position.

Ways to cope with life after school

Handling disappointments and discouragements in life after school.

Usually, after graduation, disappointment becomes a thing that often leads people to depression, graduands suffer from knowing how to put a good resume together to having a successful job interview and landing their first job, many graduates today have given up on their life’s ambition and dreams at the border of victory and fulfillment. Sometimes it becomes extremely difficult to know how to cope with life after school and accept the challenges that you pass through.

This is why many people are where they are today, unfulfilled. People that allow discouragement and disappointments get at them will find it difficult to cope with life after school successfully, they gave up fighting to win their life battle which is connected to their destinies. Staying focused no matter the difficulty is one great way to cope with life after school. Life after school is filled with countless challenges. Sometimes individuals from countries where the governments have little or nothing to offer suffer more.

Some people may even feel abandoned by their parents or sponsors after school, this is one of the reasons why everyone needs to lay a good foundation for post-high school life or life after graduation. Some felt they could not continue to struggle in life while others felt the responsibilities that go with greatness were too much for them to bear. Sometimes responsibilities pile up and cause great fear that results in poor decisions. Making the right decisions while in school in one of the ways to cope with life after school and achieve great success in your career.

Still, there are others who ignored the opportunities and challenges that should have ushered them into their rightful place in life, refusing to struggle their ways to their peak. Some people suffer after graduating from university because of poor career choices, the university counselling units need to do more to get the majority of their students on the right track to success.

Let us understand that every good dream requires a fight for fulfillment. Discouragement, however, has a way of making people feel, it is already too late for them in life to amend past mistakes. Or to convince people that something good is resident in one. Always remember that your past is not as important as your present which has the power to make your future glorious. Having a good knowledge and understanding of how the real world works after school is a great way to reduce that danger that one is exposed to after school and a good life after school.

Understanding Your Dreams for a Good Life after School

The right attitude and thought- an attitude is like the fire of our desires, and every day, we get to choose the fuel for our future, if our fuel consists of good promise and ambitions, then we put forth a pleasing aroma of success. Attitude is a choice, Charles Swindol once said: “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life, we can not change the inevitable, the only thing we can do is to play on the one string that we have and that is our attitude and thought.

I am convinced that life is ten percent what happened to me and ninety percent how I react to it and so, it is with you. We are in charge of our attitude, whenever we have the right thought and attitude, it will affect our confession in time of job hunting.

The Power of Positive Mind and Positive Thought

Positive Thinking: In perplexing situation, remember to overcome your circumstances with the power of determination. Do not entertain worry and anxiety, rather meditate on that which you really want to achieve. ✓ do not allow the glooming discomfort of the present to envelope your ordeal. ✓ When life seems to be at a low ebb, don’t resort to murmuring or complaining, simply be optimistic.

STRUGGLES WITH LIFE AFTER SCHOOL

It is just like examination: It may take a lot of strain and stress to prepare for them and it may take a lot of pain and struggles to pass them, but once successfully passed, they have ways for employment… Struggles are just like the torturous toil a farmer experience while planting and lending his crops, but when it’s time for harvesting, all the hitches and troubles give ways to exceeding joy. As he beholds the beautiful fruits, his relentless toil has yielded.

Most times when people struggle to achieve certain things in life, it is because they are overwhelmed and need a helping hand to succeed. It is alright to seek a helping hand to succeed in life and achieve great things because life involves a lot of partnerships to achieve reasonable success. Sometimes one just needs a hand to make one or two corrections and uplift one from the current dangers and stagnation in life. There are no short cuts to cope with life after school. There is only a process to make progress in life and achieve great and unimaginable things through partnerships.

In all that we do in our daily life, it is always good to seek the face of God in our decisions and relate well with our father in heaven and form good relationships with the people around us.

How to cope with life after school

To cope with life after school, one may need to ensure that the following are achieved;

  • Good resume for job applications
  • God referees
  • Good and quality skill level
  • Sound judgment
  • Being able to apply for the right job
  • having the skills required for one’s dream job
  • Involving God through prayers
  • Never giving up on oneself
  • Contentment at every level of achievement

The struggle is not meant to harm, they are meant to prepare you, they are meant to bless you. When you bear them patiently and persevering, you will be astonished at the wonderful results they will produce in you!!!

Speech about Life

Good morning one and all present here. I am standing before you all to share my thoughts through my speech about life. Life is a continuous ongoing process that has to end someday. Life is all about adoring yourself, creating yourself. A quote for you that life can be only understood backward but it must be lived forwards. Life itself is a golden opportunity to live a meaningful life and support others to do so. It doesn’t matter how many years you live. But it matters how well you live a quality life.

The fear of death always threatens our lives. Every person has to face death sooner or later, but that doesn’t mean that it should discourage us from living life to the fullest or achieving our goals. A person is wise only when he/she is ready to meet destiny when it comes, but until that time enjoys every bit of it. It is a sense of readiness. It is a journey in everyone’s life wherein we have to cross the bridge of death to be able to wake up to a life eternal.

Human life – A very Precious Gift

Human life is truly a very precious gift. Each moment of human life carries us an opportunity, to act to develop and express our virtues. Every moment unlocks the path to us to receive blessings. This is the truth that life gives us both positive and negative situations. What is really important is how we react.

Life is the gift of God in the form of trust that we will make it meaningful in whatever we can. We are all unique individuals. No one is born like you and no one will ever be, so cherish your individuality. Many times, I come across people accusing God of things that they don’t have. They always cursing their lives. But, do they realize that this life itself is precious? If we make it worth living and work hard towards positivity.

Life is a Journey, not a Destination

Life is nothing but a journey with lessons, hardships, heartache and special moments. It will ultimately lead us to our destination, our purpose in life. The road will not always be a plane; in fact, throughout our travels, we will face many challenges.

These challenges will always test our courage, strengths, weaknesses, and faith. Along our way, we may encounter obstacles that will come between the paths and we are destined to take.

In order to be on the right path, we must overcome these obstacles. Sometimes these obstacles are really blessings in disguise, only we don’t understand that at the time. The secret of life is best known to those who are not attached to anything deeply so much.

Therefore, they remain out of touch with worries and shifting fortunes of their lives. They are the people who do not measure their lives in terms of materialistic possessions, but by measuring their lives in terms of people they cannot live without.

Lastly, I will conclude that we should make life worthwhile. It should be with the love of our family and friends that life can be made beautiful. Life can be more beautiful and purposeful by discharging our duties in our family, at work, society and the world at large.

Preparing For Life After School: 5 Crucial Steps

February 2, 2019 Prince Nchiba Study Guide 9

life after school

Table of Contents

Life after school is always difficult to comprehend until reality hits you. Yes, you may be young at the moment, but you won’t be young forever. A lot of students are making really bad decisions that will ‘bite them in the ass’ sooner or later. Of course, it’s not bad to enjoy your youth, live in the moment and make good memories. Even so, there is a thin line between enjoying your youth and destroying your future. Life after school is not what most students think it is. Below are some tips to guide you in preparing for life after school.

1. Learn extra skills while in school

Most students allow 4-7 years to pass them by without preparing for life after school. It is important to have a good academic result but self development should be non negotiable. What give you an edge over your mates are those things you know that they don’t. Learn to intern, have various work experiences, volunteer in events, attend seminars that will enable you meet new people. Add value to yourself every single day. Time is a priceless commodity, learn to utilize it efficiently. Don’t let holidays go by without working or gaining new experience. Even while in school, participate in extracurricular activities.

Skills that are required in almost every job description include:

  • Time management skills
  • Problem solving skills and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Leadership skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills.

Apart from these soft skills, one also needs technical skills. The world is going digital and as a result, leveraging technology will go a long way to boost creativity and productivity, leading to extraordinary results. The goal of every business is to make meaningful profit. Learning skills especially in software programming will make you a priceless possession. Build yourself and people will begin to look for you. Make yourself an asset everybody wants, that’s the only way to enjoy life after school.

2. Save money, no matter how little

Lack of financial management has dropped a lot of people from the table to the floor. If you have no financial back up, life after school will shock you to the bone. As a student, save for short term goals and long term goals. Have an emergency fund somewhere because there would always be an emergency, trust me. Let the habit of borrowing and ‘buying on credit’ end. If you cannot afford a ‘want’, let it go till you can. Invest your money in things that bring money without you actively working. These things bring what is called passive income.

There are new innovations everyday so that flashy car or expensive jewelry or amazing phone will be out of trend soon. It is really not worth it, think about it. Really think about it. This is the system (passive income) that all the richest men in the world have used. When this passive income starts coming, only then should you start buying all the things you ‘want’. When you get a huge sum of money, don’t rush and buy Benz. Invest the money in meaningful things. Save more than you spend. Don’t increase your liabilities, increase your assets.

3. Make friends and be nice to people

A lot of students have this mindset of focusing fully on themselves, not minding the challenges of their course mates or friends and not having any zeal to make impact on people. You will be shocked to know that the same set of people you met in school might be the same people that will decorate your life after school. The world is a global village. Your help can come from anywhere and anyone. Have a good relationship with people; make new friends wherever you go. You can need those people later in future and vice versa. Be sincere and smart. Let people know what you stand for and how passionate you are about it.

Character is everything. Influence will take you up, attitude is what sustains you. It takes a man that is ‘up’ to pull you up. Have a mentor and maybe even mentors. This is very important because having people who have already been in the level you are now helping you, will definitely make your ride smoother than it would have been. Don’t abuse relationships, no one knows tomorrow. Help people out when you can. Never withhold a helping hand. No matter how small it may seem to you, it could mean the world to the other person. Also, be a mentor to people. Guide them. Help them up too. There is no success without succession. Your legacy is beyond what you have but what you are willing to give.

4. Be concerned about your health

Many students have little or no regard for what they eat or how their lifestyle can badly affect their health. Overkill in every aspect is bad. The key is moderation. Eat well and exercise too. It’s better to eat healthy than to spend million in the hospital treating yourself whilst in pain. As a student, you may not always have the means but try to eat a balanced diet, eat fruits and exercise too to boost your immune system. This is yourself we are talking about here and I know you love yourself so stop taking in things that would deteriorate your health. There will be no life after school if you destroy yourself through bad nutritional habit.

5. Don’t stop praying

It is important to take all the steps above to prepare for life after school, but then again, do not neglect God. Don’t let anything or anyone else take his place. God should be your priority always. Work hard! Hard work is not necessarily strenuous work but the release of one’s full potential in the performance of daily tasks. There are forces fighting against your bright life after school. The only weapon to winning the warfare is through prayer. Put God first and everything will fall into place as far as you work hard.

Finally, don’t be carried away by trends. Have a vision of what you want to do and/or be and don’t stop there. Make active steps to get it! The difference between winning and losing is, most often, not quitting. NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!

speech about life

‘Life is a beautiful journey, where we see many ups and downs. Life teaches us important lessons, such as taking care of our health, focusing on our goals, spending time with family and friends, respecting everyone, etc. The most important thing is to enjoy your life, be happy and learn.’

Growth Occurs When One Goes Beyond One’s Limits With Opportunities Life Brings – Unanimous

Life is a precious gift and each moment is equally important; whether it’s about preparing for school exams, taking care of health and family, or enjoying out with friends. Even in times of difficulty, life teaches us some important lessons. There is a famous saying, ‘Those who forget History tend to repeat it.’ A person learns from his and others’ mistakes and improves his life.

2-Minute Speech About Life

‘Good morning Principal Sir, teachers, and my dear friends. Today, I stand before you to present my speech about life. We all want a successful life so that we can live a happy and material life. But, what is the meaning of life? Is life only about happiness, joy, and materialistic things?’

Meaning of Happy Life

‘Happiness and material needs are our desires offered by life as a reward for our hard work and luck. Life is a challenging journey with a lot of difficulties. Sometimes there are clouds of darkness, lost in shadows. However, even in times like these, life teaches us to discover our inner strength, resilience, and the capacity to emerge into the light with newfound wisdom and growth.’

Purpose of Life

Everybody has a purpose in their lives and to fulfill them, we have to fight our own battles. We have to study hard to succeed in exams, practice deliberately to win a competition, etc. Life is challenging, but that is what makes life so special.

Edmund Hillary and Tibetan mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, the first persons to climb the highest mountain peak, Mount Everest, failed 6 times. He, along with Edmund Hillary, finally climbed to the top of the Everest in their 7th attempt. They knew about the challenges and difficulties that would come in their mission, but they still did the impossible.’

The happiness after completing a difficult task is immensely gratifying, a triumphant blend of accomplishment, relief, and the satisfaction that comes from conquering challenges. This is what life is about. With every challenge, there is an opportunity to learn something new.

Life is a beautiful journey and we must be grateful for the precious moments life offers us. Remember, we only have one life. It’s a journey you would not want to miss, so embrace it and learn from it.

Thank you.’

Speech About Life for Students

‘Good morning my teacher and dear friend. Today, I would like to share my thoughts through a speech about life. Our life is like a blank canvas, which we wish to dye in colours of our own choice. Easier said than done, right?’

‘Here is what I have learned about life: ‘Take up one idea, make that idea your life. Dream of it, think of it and live on that idea. Let your brain, the body, the muscles, the nerves, and every inch of your body be full of that idea and just leave everything behind. This is the way to a successful life.’

Life is a Journey and Not a Destination

We all have read the quote, ‘Life is a journey and not a destination’ . But what is the meaning of this quote about life? It means that life is a continuous process of growth, experience, and learning. Life is not an endpoint.’

Life is a precious gift, as each moment carries an opportunity to learn and grow. There is a very popular saying: ‘ When one door closes, two others open.’ .It means that life is full of opportunities and even in times of adversity, there is a path to success and happiness.’

Being happy and feeling sad is part of life, but how we react is more important. Life is God’s blessing. God is the creator and destroyer of life. God has created everything perfectly. Therefore, we must embrace this precious life God has gifted us and make it worth living. Staying positive and working hard are the only options that can make our lives successful and happy.

Speech on Life after School – 1

Good Morning Everyone!

It’s a wonderful opportunity to present before you all to give a speech on life after school. Being a motivational speaker and innovator I feel proud to speak on this topic and make you realize certain things in life.

Everybody has a dream or a goal in his life and you would agree with me that wherever you go the dream of yours follows you. Your ambition is what you follow blindly and work every second towards it. Being school students is a very joyful and happy life but as you step in the real world you will realize the relevance of school and your teachers.

I would like to share my experience when I was in school, I was a very mischievous student and once I got a lot of scolding from my teacher for not completing my homework. That was the day when I complained about my teacher to my parents but they told me one thing that this time of your life you will miss once you are out of school.

Nobody would even bother what you are up to in your life. It is the same thing which my parents told me before. Yes, there will be no one to make you realize your mistakes and you will be responsible for your own deeds. This was just an example I gave you all to make you realize that this is your golden period. Enjoy this time in school to the fullest and value your teachers.

Once you will be out of the school there would be lots of pressure that you would have to handle, nobody will spoon-feed you and nobody would even pin point where you are going wrong. Even if you fail in life you would have to take the responsibility on your own shoulders.

School days are the best time when you can relax, study as well as enjoy your lives but when you leave your school you will realize what exactly your responsibilities are and how you need to cope with them. As students you are dependent on your parents but when you grow up you need to take care of them just the way they did for you. You need to realize how important is to value every phase of our lives. Every phase teaches us one thing or the other.

Thus, as a motivational speaker I hope I have motivated you all to respect everyone in your lives and especially those who love you the most. This is the golden period of your life and it is never going to come back so enjoy your school days to the best of your capabilities.

Speech on Life after School – 2

Respected Principal, Vice Principal, Colleagues and My Dear Students- I hope this day finds you in best of spirits!

Today on the speech giving day in the morning assembly, as a teacher I am present before you to deliver a speech on a quite exciting topic for me which is life after school. It brings back certain memories of my school days.

My colleagues would agree with me that we all have something to share from our school days. Our experiences would be a life lesson for you dear students. School is the place where you all spend half of the day enjoying extracurricular activities including dance, sports, plays, dramas etc. These activities prepare you all for the challenging real world which is waiting once you finish your school life.

These activities shape your character and personalities and help you in developing as a full-fledged responsible individual and human being. School lays down your foundation and keeps on improvising your skills. It is the place where you and I nurture our dreams. We get inspired and create our role models in school and follow them the entire life in our subconscious minds.

In fact, we all owe whatever we are today to our school. From getting life lessons and also scoldings in the same place. Don’t ever get disheartened when your teacher scolds you, remember that he/she does this because he/she is worried about your career and wants a successful life for you without any failures and mistakes. You all should thank your parents for sending you to the best schools for your education. Schools are like the building blocks of the society which nurtures the individual and makes them a good human being which in turn becomes valuable for the country itself.

The most important reason to educate youth is that they are the one who are going to support the society. It’s important that you all should be imparted right kind of education and skills so that you take our country to the next level. Life after school is not going to be easy and there will be various challenging situations that you would have to deal with yourself and can’t even reveal it to others because everybody has to go through their own share of struggles and pain.

You would realize once you get out of the school that how memorable were those days where you had no responsibilities. Life after school will not be bed of roses rather there will be ups and downs in life and you will have to handle your family where in now they take all your burdens and responsibilities. I believe that school plays a very important part in all our lives and without which a nation too cannot function well.

Therefore, I hope you all have understood the value of school and got an insight on how the real world would be and how you need to overcome tough challenges.

Speech on Life after School – 3

Good Evening Friends – How are you all doing?

I warmly welcome you all to this closing ceremony of today where we all can see each other together one last time within our school premise. Until this time, we have been living a secured and sheltered life under the constant guidance of our teachers, but now time has come when we have to be on our own.

I am sure we are experiencing the same emotion at this point in time – we are happy but sad at the same time because of the thought of leaving our school. Outside world already appears quite intimidating and things do not appear easy going. There are other sets of challenges, such as which career option to choose and then short listing the names of reputed institutes which offer respective courses. The job doesn’t end there as then comes the most difficult part of making it to the college of our choice based on our cut offs as well as entrance scores.

Throughout we have been following the footsteps shown by our respected teachers, but now we will have to learn to develop independent, critical thinking so that we can take the decisions of our life. However, consulting our parents and teachers is a must, but what we want in life matters the most. Till date, parents and teachers have been our decision makers, but now we have to be our own decision makers. We have made many mistakes in our school lives and there were our teachers and especially our class teacher who could constantly correct our mistakes and help us in improving ourselves. We have been given many chances to improve and prove our mettle. Everyone used to be so encouraging – from the hon’ble principal ma’am to our respected teachers – who helped us so that we realize our true strength and even work on our weak areas.

Friends, I can unhesitatingly say that school life was full of fun and exciting indeed. But now I feel that we are ripped apart of that sheltered life and stand naked, exposed to the harsh reality of the outside world where cut throat competition prevails and even the slight negligence on our part can cost us huge.

We cannot act childish because career decisions taken post finishing our school can make or break everything. So act wisely and think twice before taking any career related decisions. Definitely, college life will come with its share of enjoyment and we should look so forward to it. Getting to meet new people, attend lectures without any obligation will also give a thrilling experience. There are both plus and minuses and it depends on us how we embrace it whether we see it as glass half filled or half empty.

Life after school will also reap fruitful results provided we take it sportingly and put in our sincere efforts to make our college rocking both in academics and other co-curricular activities. For any situation of crisis, I am sure we have our parents and teachers who are always ready to help us steer clear through any hurdle.

This is all from my side, thank you friends!

Speech on Life after School – 4

Hello Friends – How you all are doing?

I, Akriti Saxena – the alumni of this school, warmly welcome you all to the speech ceremony of today! Firstly, I would like to thank my teachers for giving me the opportunity to speak today in front of everyone. Today, I am feeling extremely nostalgic visiting my school after 2 long years.  Even though a considerable time has passed since then, but I can’t help travelling to those golden times when we were school students and used to follow a disciplined lifestyle and work under the aegis of our teachers.

Everything was taken care of by our teachers and parents. Never did we know that life would be so challenging post the completion of our school education. Suddenly, we were stripped off from that protective shield weaned by our teachers and we realized we were on our own. Charting out our career path and working towards it was not at all easy because we just cannot afford to make mistakes because no one is going to guide us step by step the way our school teachers used to do.

But life after school has got to offer you its own shares of exhilaration by making you breathe in an independent environment where there are no rules to break and attending classes are not a compulsion anymore. You are not going to be shouted upon by your professors provided you submit your assignments on time and meet your minimum attendance level.

School life is undoubtedly the best phase in life, but college life too has a lot to offer and the only reason why it gives you a sense of freedom is to help you in becoming independent and develop critical thinking. Because, after all how long we can be spoon fed as the time will surely come when we will have to be on our own!  Isn’t it? Sometimes, we have to be a little harsh on ourselves so that we realize our true potential and emerge as a stronger and a better individual. If we sail through this journey of college life, we will surely shine through in our career ahead.

Life will only be promising when we learn to do what is required out of us and exercise our mental faculty well to achieve our goals. And, college life gives you that opportunity to prove your mettle in your chosen field. So never get intimidated by the outside world and prepare yourself well in your school days itself. I know I am a better person now than I was yesterday and it’s because of all the decisions taken initially by my parents, then my teachers and now by me.  Take every facet of journey in a positive fervor and relish its experience like never before, only then will life become meaningful and worth living.

Nothing comes handy, you have to earn it. So prepare well in your school days for the life ahead, i.e. college life so that it opens a world for you according to your dreams and wishes.

My School Life 1

Dear Friends – I hope this day finds you in the best of spirits!

Today on the speech giving day, I – Pratishtha Singh from Class-VIII (B) – would like to deliver a speech on My School Life. I am sure we all will have something or the other to say about our school lives. Isn’t it?

The very word ‘School’ carries a lot of emotions with it and we are transported to a world where we spend half of our day studying, reading and writing, then enjoying other co-curricular activities too such as sports, dance, music, etc. We imbibe a lot in the school environment where our personalities and characters are shaped and we are prepared for the nation’s building exercise. The foundation of our early years is very important as it informs our future and this very foundation is being laid down by our school. I am in VIII standard at present and so far my journey in this school has been excellent; in fact whatever I am today I owe it all to my school.

I want to thank my parents for sending me to one of the best schools of our town and I also want to thank our hon’ble principal and teachers for being so considerate all the time and always working for the better prospects of their students. I especially want to thank my class teacher for being so patient and kind with us and always showing ready nature for resolving our queries. My school life has been best so far and there are no laments or regrets for anything. My school has given me a lot many things, i.e. it has made me confident, independent and knowledgeable. The fact that I have brought home awards and trophies in Science and Maths subjects in Olympiad as well as inter-school competition; reveal a lot about my schooling and the hard work that my teachers have put in towards our mental and intellectual growth.

There is no reason to doubt that if such school as ours continues to thrive all across the country then no one can stop our nation from growing by leaps and bounds. Needless to say, a nations’ growth is directly proportional to the development of its youth and if the future of youth is laid waste then no one can save the future of that nation from plunging into obscurity. And if the youth thrives the nation also thrives. This is the reason why so much stress is laid down on educating the youth and making them independent and imparting them different skills so that employment can be generated and more and more of our youth can find the opportunities for showcasing their talent and making their nation proud.

So I firmly believe that schools play a very important role in our society without the existence of which any nation would be reduced to a state of gross barbarity.

This is all I have to say, thank you so much for being such a great audience.

My School Life 2

Hello Folks – Warm Greetings of the day to all of you!

I hope life is treating you well. Before I begin with the speech on My School Life, I want to thank our class teacher for giving me the opportunity to speak in front of you all and deliver a speech. I know this exercise will help remove all my inhibitions and give me enough confidence to speak. The subject of my speech is interesting and does not require any preparation at all as it will all flow from my heart.

What do I say about my school life? So far so good! The journey has been incredibly great and I have quite evolved in these preceding 12 years so much so that I am now ready for the next level challenges. Excitement is high in the air! After scoring highest marks in my 10 th board exam, I am exhilarated and boosted with enough confidence to launch myself for the upcoming challenges. I can say this because of the immense support I have received from all my teachers. Had that support not been there I wouldn’t have brought this glory home.

Whatever I am today is all because of my teachers and nothing can take this credit away from them. I am extremely thankful to my school for providing us with all the quintessential resources needed for our growth and development. Whether it’s the libraries or labs, time to time conducted workshops or our extra classes – everything has helped us a lot in getting closer to our dreams. If we as students come across any hindrance in our studies we can directly report it to our principal. The management is smooth and pretty systematic in our school. It doesn’t take days and months to resolve our query as quick decisions and actions are taken. This is the reason why our school has gone on to achieve benchmarks after benchmarks and needless to say is counted amongst one of the best schools of Dwarka.

I can proudly say that my school is the best school and whoever passes out from this school is bound to land successfully somewhere and will definitely make it to the best. The best part about my school is that it doesn’t function with a view to ameliorate the immediate present, but constantly works towards achieving a vision that it has envisaged for itself. If our future is secure then we are secure and this is the primary goal of our school, i.e. to safeguard our future by molding us in such a manner that we can derive strength from our own selves and overcome any obstacle in life.

There couldn’t have been a better school for me than this which has greatly honed my skills and showcased my talent so well that today I feel proud of my achievements and so are my teachers and parents. In the end, I only wish for my school unbounded success and glory.

Thank you everyone!

My School Life 3

Greetings of the day everyone – I hope you are doing well!

Before I deliver speech on My School Life, let me welcome everyone to the speech ceremony of today. The speech topic of today is My School Life and I am so excited to share my thoughts on the same.

School life is an exciting phase in everyone’s life, I am sure you all will agree. In fact, my school life has been so enriching that I cannot thank enough my parents for sending me to the best school and of course my teachers for being such a guiding torch in the entire journey. My teachers have been an influential factor in my life, helped shape my personality and shared a lot with us from their immense reservoir of knowledge. Whatever I am today is all because of my school and the kind of grooming they have given me in my early years.

Other than academics, I thoroughly enjoyed other co-curricular activities, such as being a part of the basketball fraternity, cricket federation, debate society, etc. This entire journey has been really exciting and I have grown as a person, as an individual. It is rightly said that “school life is the best life” and this phrase sums up the whole crux of it because during the entire 12-year period we learn something new and something innovating. School provides us with a stirring environment where we grow; we learn; experience new things; make friends and gain the confidence to face the world outside. It is therefore the best phase in a student’s life where he/she greatly evolves and gain the ability to think critically.

School also teaches us discipline and the value of time without which we can never achieve our aims and goals in life. The exams that we give during the school days help us prepare for the big challenges in life. There is no reason for me to doubt that it is a place where we experience an over round development of our being, where our scholastic abilities grow, where our horizon widens and we are exposed to numerous possibilities of learning new things and molding our personalities in the best way possible. Though every phase in our lives has its own importance, but we can never imbibe as much as we do from our school lives because it is a long 12-year journey. Isn’t it?

I can never get over the indelible impression that my school has left over me – that time of waking up early morning, preparing for school, walking inside the classrooms, reading, writing, finishing the assignments, appearing for the examination, participating in annual functions, debate competitions and of course last but not the least sports too. Nothing was left untouched as my school has taught me a lot, which I would never be able to thank my school for.

A good school always imparts value education to its students and this value education is not confined to just books, but goes beyond that which helps a child his/her lifetime. This is all I have to say.

Thank you so much!

My School Life 4

Dear Friends – Warm Greetings to all of you!

Before we begin with the celebration today, please allow me to honor our chief guest, principal, vice principal and all our teachers.

I am extremely glad to welcome everyone today at our school annual function. I, Pushkar Chawla, from Class-XII (B), am your host for today and feel honored to have shared the stage with my class teacher Dr. Naina Gupta who is truly an inspiration for me. This annual function is indeed very special for all of us and we eagerly await this day for unbounded fun and celebration. But this time friends, I promise you some extra doses of laughter and enjoyment with some really engaging games.

Besides, I also would like to express my feelings today because this is our last year in school and post that our higher secondary education would be completed and so our journey in the school. Therefore, on this auspicious day I would like to say a few words for my school and would also like to express my gratitude for bestowing on us the wealth of knowledge.

It feels like yesterday when I took admission in this school, but it was long 10 years back when my father got me here. At that time I was a child and then my educational journey began. I entered in X standard and now I stand here as a grown up individual waiting to emerge with flying colors.

From learning to read and write, this school has taught me everything from the scratch. Here, I have not just passed the examinations, but have learnt to overcome difficulties and be a strong individual. We are not only taught lessons in class, but are given some precious lifelong lessons which will stay with us all our lives. We are taught how discipline plays a key role in accomplishing our goals and why it is important to value time. Then other than academics, we are pushed to be a part of other co-curricular activities. Whereas I excelled in basketball, my other friends excelled in cricket, some in dance, some in music, etc. Inter school competitions were often organized so that we can learn to compete in a healthy manner and can best realize our potential.

We were given ample opportunities to showcase our talent and skill. It is all because of this that we are confident individuals and have learnt to conduct ourselves in the world outside. Had this school not been there as our backbone and as our firm support, we wouldn’t have been the kind of personalities that we are today, i.e. strong and dynamic. A school therefore plays a really significant role in laying the scholastic foundation of a child and I feel lucky enough to have been sent to such a school as this is a place where every child is nurtured with a lot of care and attention.

In the end all I want to say is that I am a proud student of our ABC School. Now, let the show begins.

School memories are like treasure boxes, filled with moments of joy, laughter, and learning. They hold the essence of our childhood, shaping who we become.

When you think about your school days, what comes to mind? Is it the friends, the teachers, or the lessons learned? This is a journey back to those unforgettable times.

1-minute Speech on School Memories

Good day, everyone. Today, let’s take a magical journey back to our school days. Hold tight to your heartstrings because we are about to sail on a wave of nostalgia.

Our school days are a treasure chest of bright, sparkling memories. Remember your very first day? The nervousness, the excitement, the new bag and the shiny shoes? That’s where it all started, the dawn of a journey filled with learning, laughter, friendships, and a little bit of mischief.

Secondly, let’s talk about our dear friends. Those who stood by us, cheered us on, and shared our lunch boxes. It’s them who made school truly special. Whether we were playing in the field, studying in the library, or taking part in school plays, our friends were always there. They are the heart of our school memories.

Next, we must appreciate our teachers. Their guidance, patience, and wisdom have shaped us. The lessons we learned, both from textbooks and life, were taught by them. They pushed us to be better, to dream bigger. They are the architects of our future.

And let’s not forget the fun side of school. The joy of winning a match, the thrill of school trips, the laughter during lunch breaks, and the sense of accomplishment on graduation day. These moments filled our hearts with pure happiness.

As we look back, every memory from our school days is precious. They made us who we are today. The friendships, the lessons, the fun, and the achievements – they all have a special place in our hearts.

In conclusion, our school memories are like a beautiful song. They make us smile, they make us cry, but most importantly, they make us remember the good old days. These memories are our treasures, and we must cherish them always.

2-minute Speech on School Memories

Good day to all present here.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, to a time that holds a special place in our hearts, the school days. The school, a place not just of learning, but a place where we first encountered the vibrant colors of life.

In our first years at school, we were small children with wide, curious eyes. We made our first friends and learned our first lessons, not just in reading and writing, but in sharing, caring, and being kind. We celebrated our first victories, whether it was winning a race, getting an answer right, or even just managing to tie our shoelaces on our own. These are not just memories, they are the stepping stones that shaped our personalities.

The middle years of our schooling were filled with a different kind of excitement. We discovered our interests and pursued them, whether they were in sports, music, arts or academics. We learned about team spirit when we played for our school teams, and about humility and grace when we lost. We learned about the joy of creation when we painted a picture or played a tune. We learned about the thrill of discovery when we solved a complex problem. We learned, in essence, about the beauty of life.

The final years of our school life were the most transformative. We learned about responsibility and leadership, and about making difficult decisions. We learned about the power of dreams, and the importance of hard work and determination in achieving them. We learned about the value of friendship, as we forged bonds that would last a lifetime. We learned about the pain of parting, as we said goodbye to our school, our teachers, and our friends. But we carried with us the treasure trove of memories that we had created over the years.

But school memories are not just about joy and learning. They are also about the challenges and difficulties we faced. There were times when we struggled, when we failed, when we felt alone. But these moments, too, are important, for they taught us about resilience and courage. They taught us that it’s okay to fail, as long as we pick ourselves up and try again. They taught us that no matter how difficult the road, we can always find the strength within us to keep going.

In conclusion, school memories are a mix of sweet and bitter experiences, of joy and sorrow, of victories and failures. But through it all, they are a testament to our growth and evolution. They are the mirror that reflects who we are today. As we look back at our school memories, let’s cherish them, learn from them, and carry them with us as we move forward in our journey of life. Because no matter where we go, or what we become, these memories will always be a part of us, a part of our story.

Thank you for your patient listening.

Life Skills Middle and High School IEP Goal Bank

speech on life after school

Working at the middle and high school level can be so very rewarding! Seeing my students become young adults and go into the world is an amazing feeling. Making sure to provide functional speech therapy services can be a bit overwhelming as students at this age can have a variety of needs. You may work with some students who spend most of their day in the school environment and you may work with some students who divide their time between school and a vocational setting. Knowing how to goal set for our students can feel tough! (Make sure to scroll to the bottom to get your life skills goal bank).

I am here to help! I have been working with kids at this age level for almost 10 years. I feel so very lucky to divide my time with older students in a school setting and toddler/preschool students in my private practice- ABA SPEECH. At the middle and high school level, we need to make sure that we are helping to support our students in the larger school and at times community environment. This service delivery at times may feel a bit outside of the box. There was the time that I would visit a student at their work site to observe how they were applying the receptive language skills that they had worked so hard on in therapy. Or the time that I would plan a weekly vocational group for my students about settings they would experience in a vocational rotation the following year. I love this age group for how very functional it is! Planning therapy for students across environments will help them generalize these skills into their daily lives!

Each student will have their own unique set of strengths and areas of need. Starting with a robust assessment is a good start! I always try my very best to include an observation is appropriate for the student. Observing my student communicating in the classroom or larger school environment can provide me with so much information when I am goal setting! At the middle school and high school environment I try to focus on vocational skills, social skills that are tied to the vocational setting and life-long leisure skills and receptive language skills that are tied to the larger school environment.

When I am goal setting for my students at this age level, I always make sure that I touch base with parents to see what concerns they may have! Parents are such an important piece to the IEP team puzzle. Ongoing communication with parents and other team members prior to the IEP, will make for a more cohesive plan for our students.

Below find my life skills goal bank. It is divided into sections regarding skills that you may target in therapy with your students. I hope that this is a wonderful resource for you when goal setting for your older learners.

‘I’ve waited all my life’: More than 60 years after high school, sweethearts attend prom

BISMARCK, N.D. ( KFYR /Gray News) - A couple in North Dakota finally got the opportunity to attend their senior prom more than 60 years later.

Walt and Rita Steiner started dating when Rita was still in high school, KFYR reported.

The couple didn’t get to go to their high school prom due to unforeseen circumstances.

“I had to leave to go help my dad on the farm because my brother was drafted into the service,” Walt said.

However, they married on September 9, 1958.

Even though life for them has been filled with happiness, there’s always been one thing missing, prom

Rita said she’s been waiting for this moment her entire life, but on this night those high school dreams finally came true.

She got her makeup done and they danced the night away at Touchmark’s Senior Prom.

The Steiners were crowned prom king and queen, making this prom worth the wait.

Walt shared some secrets to a happy marriage. He said to forgive and be kind to each other and take your wife dancing once in a while.

High school blocks pro-life club; administrators said flyers were too 'political': lawsuit.

Pro-life campaigners celebrate near the U.S. Supreme Court in the streets of Washington, D.C., on June 24, 2022. - The U.S. Supreme Court on Friday reversed legalized abortion nationwide in one of the most divisive and bitterly fought issues in American political life. The court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and said individual states can permit or restrict the procedure themselves.

An Indiana high schooler is continuing the fight to gain official recognition for a pro-life student club after school officials rejected it and accused its advertising of being too "political."

A Noblesville High School student identified in court documents as "E.D." is asking the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse a lower court decision upholding the school's derecognition of its Students for Life of America chapter.

The legal advocacy organization Alliance Defending Freedom, which specializes in religious freedom cases and is representing the student,  entered  its appeal in the 7th Circuit last month, joined by the Charitable Allies law firm.

E.D. had attempted to start an SFLA chapter in 2021. The student received approval from the principal to start the Noblesville Students for Life club, and more than 30 people signed up for the group at the school's fall activities fair, according to a  statement  from ADF.

The school objected to a flyer E.D. posted to advertise a club meeting that depicted students holding signs in front of the U.S. Supreme Court. The students in the photos held signs bearing slogans such as "I Reject Abortion," "Defund Planned Parenthood" and "I Am the Pro-Life Generation."

"Students don't forfeit their free speech when they walk into the school building," the ADF stated. "All students have the constitutional right to express their ideas without fear of being silenced by school officials and having their clubs unrecognized."

In a Monday statement to The Christian Post, a spokesperson for Noblesville Schools maintained that the administration did not "redirect" the group because it opposed the pro-life club's mission. The spokesperson stated that E.D.'s club was approved and sponsored by high school faculty but the school took action concerning "multiple instances of disregard for school protocols."

"All student special interest clubs must be initiated and led by students — they cannot be directed or controlled by school staff or others in the community," the spokesperson stated. "We're currently working to ensure club compliance with state laws and school policy. Once the club meets these, we will reevaluate their status."

According to the March  ruling  from federal Judge Sarah Evans Barker, a Reagan appointee, school officials felt that the poster was too "political."

The dean of Students, Jeremy Luna, instructed E.D. to fix the posters, saying that the flyer could not include a "picket" where people held signs that stated "Defund Planned Parenthood."

Officials also had concerns that the group was led by an adult instead of students, according to the ruling. The student had asked her mother to attend a September 2021 meeting with Luna about the club's callout meeting date because of a family rule prohibiting her from being alone with an adult.

Luna later spoke with Principal Craig McCaffrey about the meeting with E.D. and her mother, saying that he felt that the latter was "driving the conversation." The principal eventually emailed E.D.'s mother, informing her that a poster cannot contain "content that is political or that could disrupt the school environment."

"Club advertising posters only state the name of the club and the details of the meeting time and location," McCaffrey stated in the email. "When the students actually meet, they are able to talk about their common interests."

"In his email, Dr. McCaffrey stated that because he was no longer 'confident that this club is a student-driven club,' he "therefore [was] removing the club's approval to meet in the school,'" the March ruling recounted.

McCaffrey also informed E.D.'s mother that the high school was "revamping" its club approval process due to a "large number of requests." The principal also told E.D.'s mother that her daughter could contact the high school assistant principal if she wanted to "apply for her club again next semester."

The school district spokesperson shared the school's statement from March regarding the court ruling, adding that Noblesville "support[s] our students forming clubs they're passionate about and have dozens of student-led clubs representing a wide range of interests, activities, and beliefs. This includes an active Students for Life club at Noblesville High School."

Kristi Hamrick, vice president of media and policy at Students For Life of America and its sister organization, Students for Life Action, told CP that the organization "stands with students attempting to engage in the life of their schools.

"It's very common for pro-life students to face obstacles, such as unexplained or secret policies, a heckler's veto when those who oppose a pro-life message can shut down an event, extra fees, or a slow walk to nowhere," Hamrick stated. "Schools can make demands of students starting groups, but it has to been one standard for all."

In  response  to the March ruling, SFLA President Kristan Hawkins asserted that pro-life Americans often have to shoulder the "burden" of dealing with a "weaponized judicial system."

"We know that too many schools think parents should not have a presence or even a say in their children's education, and, in this decision, that is extended to the mere presence of a parent at a time in which school officials were acting in ways that were intimidating to a young high school student who wanted the support for her idea," Hawkins said.

"The decision also tries to say that the violation of a student's rights didn't really matter because the board of trustees could have made a different call. But in depositions — as cited in the briefing — the authority to make decisions about student groups was delegated to the principal."

Ed Sheeran surprised teachers and pupils at Fairlight Primary School in Brighton

Ed Sheeran revealed how he “struggled at school” as he performed a surprise concert for young students in Brighton.

The four-time Grammy award winner played some of his greatest hits for staff and students at Fairlight Primary School on Friday.

He performed the songs Shape Of You, Bad Habits, and Perfect at an assembly and donated five of his guitars to the school.

Damien Jordan, the school’s head teacher, said: “He was amazing with everyone he met. Interested in them, chatted to them, and very humble.

“He took time to listen to the children as well as to encourage them and tell them they had started much younger than him so would be better than him.

“He told us all about how he struggled at school but how music helped him and encouraged him and how we now wanted to do the same.”

🎸We got Shivers! Sheeran , 33, has previously revealed that he failed music while a student at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, Surrey. A college report displayed at the Ed Sheeran Made In Suffolk Exhibition, in Ipswich, in 2019, showed he was granted six F Grades.

The visit was arranged by Create Music, a project run by the Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival which aims to provide inclusive music and arts education.

Sheeran sold out two 600-capacity shows at the nearby Concorde 2 theatre within minutes in 2022.

Mr Jordan said: “The children left school telling their parents all about it and no one believed them. But it was 100% true. But you had to be there to believe it.”

Democrats call for special session in letter to Gov. Greg Abbott after drastic school budget cuts

Tom Abrahams Image

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston ISD announced drastic cuts last week, but other districts are in financial trouble, too. It's a statewide problem, and State Representative Jon Rosenthal said it needs a statewide solution.

"You will see terrible cuts," Rosenthal said. "Terrible budget cuts in school districts all over the state. If we don't do something about it and do something about it quickly, public education in the State of Texas will suffer. Our 5 million children in public schools will not get the benefit of the education that they deserve. "

That's why he sent a letter to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday asking for a special session.

speech on life after school

He asked for an increase to the state's basic allotment, the per-student funding formula, which has stayed the same since 2019. He also wants an increase in the school safety allotment.

Rosenthal said at least 40 lawmakers have also signed his letter. Though many of them also backed a bill last October that would have raised the basic allotment, it got no traction.

On Monday afternoon, after a request for comment from ABC13, Abbott sent a letter back to Rosenthal.

He writes that Democrats who signed Rosenthal's request voted against a school funding bill last session that would have added $6 billion. He writes that his "commitment to improving public schools is just as resolute" as Rosenthal's.

That bill Abbott references was a House Bill that would have also funded education savings accounts, otherwise called a voucher or school choice program. While it passed the House, the education savings account portion was killed by an amendment.

The governor also cites lower enrollment and a loss of federal COVID-19 dollars as the reasons for any shortfalls.

Last week, ABC13 reported a survey in which 80% of districts declared budget concerns, more than half have a deficit, and 43% expect significant cuts next year.

SEE MORE: 'We have a problem': Public schools in Texas face funding shortfalls

It does not seem that Abbott is interested in a special session, but Rosenthal remains hopeful.

"If we could get tons of people to pressure the state, pressure the governor, and their own representatives to take measures to fortify our public education system, that would improve our chances," Rosenthal said.

Only the governor can call a special legislative session and set the agenda. The next regular session doesn't begin until January 2025.
