With the changing demand of time, CBSE is also trying to bring significant changes in various academic approaches. Recently through a video conference, senior board members of CBSE have announced that they will now be gradually revising the question pattern in the upcoming examinations.

The pattern is going to be revised for almost all subjects. CBSE has declared that from now on, at least 50% of the total question will be in a multiple-choice based pattern. Besides, they have also announced that the paper will be framed in order to test the students’ overall comprehensive ability rather than checking their memorising power. English writing is not going to be an exception in this case too.

In the video conference, the board has released virtual notifications for individual subjects as well. Along with other subjects, they have specifically mentioned that in English writing MCQs, questions based solely on the writing format will hardly be asked. Rather the questions here are going to be framed in such a way that will be able to test the students’ overall understanding of the concept more effectively

Based on this decision of CBSE, we have decided to come up with sessions discussing model MCQs as per the guidelines by the board. As we decided, this is our fourth session on model MCQs related to English writing skills. This session is going to be focused on MCQs exclusively related to speech writing.

The more disturbing part is the way children are treated during their employment. This results in lack of growth, injuries or at times, even death of children. It also deprives the children of tender care, right to basic education, love and time to play.

To stop child labour, the government must strictly implement labour laws and severely punish employers found guilty of illegal child labour. Then only we can promise a better future for the children of this country. The government must find ways to end poverty which is one of the root causes of child labour.

We all know that ‘a healthy mind lives in a healthy body’. To maintain this good health, we should live in a healthy environment and surroundings. The most important of these are the sanitary conditions. We should not throw our litter or waste material anywhere, but use the dustbins provided by the Municipal Corporation outside the home and waste bins inside our homes. Garbage should be properly disposed off otherwise it will spread all kinds of diseases.

We should also try to ensure that all drains are covered. Stray animals should not be allowed in the colonies so that they do not dirty the drains and other areas with their excreta. Speeches can be divided into the following categories: the informative speech, the persuasive speech, and speeches for special occasions.

Informative Speech

If the speech’s purpose is to define, explain, describe, or demonstrate, it is an informative speech. The goal of an informative speech is to provide information completely and clearly so that the audience understands the message. Examples of informative speeches include describing the life cycle stages of an egg to a chicken, explaining how to operate a camera, or demonstrating how to cook a side dish for a meal. The organization of the speech depends on your specific purpose and varies depending on whether you are defining, explaining, describing, or demonstrating. Informative demonstration speeches lend themselves well to the use of visual aids to show the step-by-step processes with real objects.

Persuasive Speech

Persuasive speeches are given to reinforce people’s beliefs about a topic, to change their beliefs about a topic, or to move them to act. When speaking persuasively, directly state near the beginning of the speech what is good or bad and why you think so. This is your thesis statement, which you should give early in the speech. One way to structure a persuasive speech is to use the five-part argument:

The introduction attracts the attention of the audience, sets the tone, and describes what the persuasive speech is about. The introduction usually includes the thesis statement—the specific sentence that explains the main point of the argument.
The background provides the context and details needed for a listener to understand the situation being described, as well as the problem or opportunity being addressed.
Lines of argument make up the body of the speech. Here is where you include all your claims, reasons, and supporting evidence that help make your points effectively.
Refuting objections means disproving, ruling out, and countering any potential objections before the listeners can think of reasons not to be persuaded.
The conclusion is where you present your closing arguments. To be effective, the conclusion should restate your thesis statement and summarize the main points of your argument. If you are advocating a particular solution to a problem or a decision to be made, you should close by asking your listeners to adopt your point of view.
