• UPRTOU Overview

UPRTOU or Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University is a distance learning public university recognised by Distance Education Bureau, UGC and accredited by NAAC with a “B+” grade. The university has nine schools that offer 128 courses at certificate, diploma, UG, PG and doctoral levels. The BEd course at UPRTOU is recognised by the NCTE, whereas the BEd Special Education course is approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India. Further, MBA and MCA courses are recognised by the AICTE. UPRTOU has 670 study centres and more than 100 exam centres.

The university has a faculty and students strength of 51 and 1250, respectively. UPRTOU admissions in majority of the courses are offered on merit basis. The university conducts an entrance examination for MBA, MCA, BEd and BEd Special Education admission. The training and placement cell at the university provides numerous placement opportunities to students. Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University does not offer a Diploma in Retail Management course. At the diploma level, the university offers only 2 courses which include the Diploma in Textile Designing and the Diploma in Fashion Designing courses. The duration of each of these courses is between 1 year to 3 years depending on the candidate. The medium of instruction is English and Hindi and the basic eligibility criteria for Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University admission to these courses includes passing class 12 from a recognised board. Further, the course fee for each of the above courses is Rs 5,700 per annum. At the Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University, a two-year certificate course in Single Subject - Arts (CCSS) is provided. You can choose from subjects such as Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Urdu, Economics and Philosophy. To secure admission at UPRTOU in this programme, you must have a Bachelors degree. Direct admission is granted. The fees is Rs 4,000 per annum.

UPRTOU Admission for the July session will open on 01 May 2024* , and the deadline to fill out the registration form is  31 May 2024* .  Students can submit the form online at @uprtou.ac.in , students can submit the admission form through the online mode only.   Students can enroll in multiple UG, and PG courses at the UPRTOU according to their eligibility criteria. The University provides various courses at UG and PG levels such as BA, BCom, BLIS, BBA, MA, MCom, MSW, MLIS, MJMC, etc. UPRTOU is offering UG and PG courses under the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) for the 2024-25 academic year.

Rajarshi Tandon Open University offers admission to more than 15 courses of different streams in the UG, PG, and Diploma courses. The university offers all types of courses including UG, PG, M.Phil, PhD diploma, and certificate courses. There is direct admission to the offered courses but students need to take an entry test for research degrees and BEd.

For admission to some of the courses offered in UPRTOU Admission 2024-25, the candidates might be required to appear for an entrance examination. However, admission to most of the UG degree programmes is offered based on the merit list prepared by the university considering the marks scored by the candidates in their qualifying examination. Bachelor of Education entrance exams must be passed before UPRTOU Admission 2024 is granted.

Candidates can opt for UPRTOU Admission 2024-25 in BA, BSc, BEd, BCA, BBA, etc. degree programmes as per their area of interest. Admission to the courses is done based on the merit list prepared considering the marks scored by the candidates in the qualifying examination.

UPRTOU Admission  2024-25  to any undergraduate course is based on the student minimum eligibility criteria which is the student needs to have completed class 12th, 10+2 from a recognized board with the relevant stream to apply for the bachelor's degree. Students must have completed their graduation degree before they can enrol in the B.Ed course. The admission process in the university is completely online and offline.

Students will get direct admission based on their previous qualifications while BEd admission will be based on the merit list prepared by the university on entrance exam scores.

UPRTOU BA Admission 2024

UPRTOU BA Admission will open for the July 2024 session, and the deadline to submit the application form is  31 May 2024* at @uprtou.ac.in . UPRTOU Admission 2024 offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in several specializations. It is a 4-year duration UG degree. UPRTOU BA Admission 2024 is based on the 12th-class marks of the students. The University has released admission forms and students have to fill out the application form before the deadline.

UPRTOU BCom Admission 2024

31 May 2024*  is the deadline to submit the UPRTOU Admission form 2024-25 at @uprtou.c.in . The applicants who have completed their schooling can apply for UPRTOU Admission in the July 2024 academic session. The admission to the BCom program at this program will be decided based on previous qualifying examination marks.

UPRTOU B.Ed Admission 2024

• Students are required to have a bachelor's degree from an institution that is regionally or nationally recognized with a grade point average of at least 50% and is eligible to enrol for  UPRTOU BEd Admission 2024-25 .
• The students are required to have obtained a passing score on the UPRTOU B.Ed Entrance Test 2024.

UPRTOU PG Admission 2024

Students must have a UG degree from a recognized university, and it is the basic eligibility criteria for admission into any regular PG program except MCA and MBA. To get admission to UPROU students are required to meet the minimum qualification.  To get admission to PG programmes students must have a UG degree from a recognized university, and it is the basic eligibility criteria for admission into any regular PG program except MCA and MBA. Students in their final year of study are also eligible to apply.

UPRTOU MA Admission 2024-25

UPRTOU offers MA admission to the July session, and the application form will be invited soon on the official website @uprtou.ac.in. UPRTOU MA Admission last date will be  31 May 2024* . Students with an interest in languages such as English, comparative literature, Gujarati, Sanskrit, political science, etc can apply for MA admission at UPRTOU. Before filling out the application form, the applicants must complete their UG course from a university or institution that is approved by the UGC.

UPRTOU PhD Admission 2024-25

UPRTOU Admission 2024 to the PhD course and the last date to fill out the UPRTOU PhD application form have not been announced yet. Those who are seeking admission in the course must have a master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks. Before applying for the course student must have to fill out the online registration form by visiting the official website of the university.

UG Courses, Fees and Eligibility

Uprtou admission 2024-25 eligibility criteria.

To become eligible for the UPRTOU Admission 2024-25 students need to have passed 10+2 from a recognized board or university. The university offers courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, and BBA, those who pass the minimum eligibility criteria can only take admitted in the university and the application forms are available on the university website.

Students should have completed their 12th-grade coursework with 40 to 45 percent of their marks in biology, physics, and chemistry subjects. To be eligible for an MA, students must have completed their undergraduate degree with a minimum of 50% in any discipline or the equivalent (Master of Arts).

UPRTOU Admission 2024 is based only on the merit list, there are no requirements for an Entrance examination. 

• To get Admission to any of the UG, Certificate course, or diploma courses that the university offers, the students must have qualified class 12th from any board of education
• For PG courses the applicants must have done graduation in the relevant subjects.
• The Student should be an Indian Citizen.
• The student should have passed 12th with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Life Sciences related.

UPRTOU Admit Card

UPRTOU Admission 2024-25 Admit Card for undergraduate, postgraduate, and other semester examinations is now available on the university website. The last date to apply for the UPRTOU registration is not announced yet   those students who do not have admit cards with them are not permitted to sit in the entrance examination, students should receive one from the university's official website.

UPRTOU Assignment

Students Studying in the UPRTOU need to submit the assignment as it includes in the internal marks of the students. The assignment consists of course-based questions and carries a weightage of at least 35% of the marks. UPRTOU Assignment information is available on the university website.

UPRTOU Result

The results of the exams that will be held in 2024 for the PG Diploma and Certificate Courses will be published on the official website of the university.
