First-Year Admissions

• Apply online or complete the Common Application . We are eager to learn as much as possible about the extracurricular activities of our applicants, in particular, how those experiences have contributed to their intellectual and personal growth.
• Create a Self-Reported Student Academic Record (SSAR). Applicants can link their SSAR within the Admissions Portal or they can email their SSAR code to [email protected] . 
• Pay a $30 nonrefundable application fee. Applicable fee waivers are accepted. Questions regarding fee waivers can be directed to [email protected].   
• Submit scores for the SAT (school code: 7303), the ACT (school code: 2869), and/or the CLT. Test scores may now be sent using Point Click Send . Students can email or text scans/pictures of test scores to their admissions counselor.

What we look for.

Florida Poly reviews applications for admission holistically, meaning we align admissions or selection processes to take into consideration applicants' experiences, attributes, and academic metrics as well as the value an applicant would contribute to learning, practice, and teaching. Of course, students must meet the Florida Board of Governors state minimum requirements. 

Students who are determined to be a good fit for Florida Poly should seek to demonstrate their true self through the application process. Certainly, the courses you have enrolled in and the grades you've received in high school are important. However, there are other important attributes we'll consider. This is what we want to see from a student who is admitted:

There will be math. Lots of it. We like to say the mathematics is the foundation of STEM and we love it, but it doesn’t always like us back. Higher-level mathematics demands abstract thinking and problem solving skills we hold dear. Preparing yourself for academic success means accumulating skills in high school that will help you be successful in college: strong performances in algebra, geometry, algebra 2, and even pre-calculus or calculus.  

The core curriculum for first-year students is more than math. In fact, your first year involves core STEM course that will help you dive into the various academic opportunities at Florida Poly and provide you with valuable insight into career paths. That exploration is key to your success  and will help you to be confident in your critical thinking, to hone your problem-solving skills, write well, and express yourself in these courses and in your future endeavors.

Thomas Edison said, “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” We want students who are not afraid to be wrong, but most importantly, are courageous enough to correct their mistakes and keep going. 

You can be an introvert. You can be an extrovert. You can be an introverted extrovert, an extroverted introvert, or any combination with which you identify, but you won't thrive here if you expect to be able to go it alone all the time. From engineering to programming, to logistics to analytics, the majors here are team sports. In fact, your first-year experience is built around students collaborating: The places you live (on-campus residences where most students stay), the problem sets you solve, and the interdisciplinary coursework and projects you complete will benefit from blending multiple perspectives.

Polytechnic Admission 2024 is done either on the basis of merit or entrance exams like AP POLYCET, JEXPO, etc. Candidates who have completed 10th or 12th with PCM can apply for admission to this programme. AP POLYCET Application Form 2024

Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Entrance Test (AP POLYCET) is conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) in Andhra Pradesh for granting admission in Diploma in Engineering courses across Andhra Pradesh. AP POLYCET Application Form 2024  was released on February 20 to April 5, 2024. Moreover, SBTET shall conduct the AP POLYCET 2024 exam on April 27, 2024. 

Assam PAT Application Form 2024

Assam Polytechnic Admission Test or Assam PAT is conducted every year by the Directorate of Technical Education of Assam for polytechnic diploma admission into various engineering and technology diploma courses offered in institutes across the state of Assam. Assam PAT Application Form 2024 will be released tentatively in the second week of April 2024 and the ASSAM PAT 2024 exam will tentatively be conducted in the third week of June 2024.

DCECE 2024 Application Form 

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) conducts the Diploma-Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) for granting admission to full-time and part-time Diploma in Engineering courses in the polytechnic colleges of Bihar. DCECE 2024 Application Form is expected to be released in the 2nd week of March 2024 and the exam is to be conducted tentatively in the 3rd week of June 2024.

CG PPT Application Form 2024

CG PPT is a state-level entrance test conducted for admission to diploma courses offered in the participating institutions in Chattisgarh. CG PPT Application Form 2024  can be filled out by April 7, 2024.

Delhi CET Application Form 2024

Delhi Common Entrance Test (Delhi CET) is a state-level polytechnic entrance exam conducted by the Department of Training & Technical Education (DTTE).  The Delhi CET exam grants admission to candidates in polytechnic courses offered at the Board of Technical Education (BTE) affiliated institutes in Delhi. The Directorate of Technical Education, Delhi will release the Delhi CET Application Form 2024 in the second week of May 2024 and the deadline to apply for the Delhi CET exam 2024 might be the last week of May 2024.

HP PAT Application Form 2024 

HP PAT is an offline examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board (HPTSB) Dharamshala for granting admission to various diploma programmes in institutes across the state. The HP PAT Application Form 2024  was released on March 28, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill out the application form till April 30, 2024. HP PAT exam 2024 will be conducted on May 19, 2024.

TS POLYCET Application Form 2024 

TS POLYCET is conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET) Hyderabad for granting admission in various diploma courses in institutes across Telangana. Interested candidates can fill out the  TS POLYCET Application Form 2024 from February 15 to April 22, 2024. TS POLYCET 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 24, 2024.

JEECUP Application Form 2024 

Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic) also known as JEECUP is a state-level entrance test conducted for admission to diploma courses in Uttar Pradesh. JEECUP Application Form 2024  was released on January 8 and the last date to fill the application form was March 4, 2024. The JEECUP 2024 exam will be conducted from March 16 to 22, 2024.

UBTER JEEP Application Form 2024 

Uttarakhand JEEP is conducted by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee (UBTE) for granting admission to various polytechnic programmes in institutes across Uttarakhand. The UBTER JEEP Application Form 2024  date is January 20 to April 15, 2024.

VOCLET Application Form 2024

West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Department conducts the VOCLET polytechnic entrance examination for admission in Diploma in Engineering (Polytechnic) courses - Lateral Entry. VOCLET Application Form 2024 has started from February 23, 2024. Candidates will be able to fill out the application form till May 15, 2024.

JEXPO Application Form 2024 

JEXPO is an entrance exam conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education for admission to Diploma in Engineering courses in institutes across West Bengal. JEXPO Application Form 2024 will tentatively be released from the first week to the third week of May 2024 while the JEXPO 2024 Exam will be conducted in the second week of June 2024.

Several institutes and colleges grant Polytechnic Diploma Admission 2024 to candidates based on the merit secured by them in their class 10 exam. Candidates who do not wish to appear for any polytechnic entrance exam 2024 can check the list of states that do not conduct an entrance exam for diploma courses below. 

Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Admission:

• Possess a diploma or certificate in a related field from a recognized institution (e.g., ITI diploma for a Polytechnic diploma in Computer Science).

No, polytechnic exams are not harder than JEE Main. The polytechnic exams are given after class 10 whereas JEE Main is given after class 12.  

The eligibility criteria for polytechnic admissions vary from state to state. However, basic eligibility criteria of the polytechnic admission require candidates to have passed class 10 with at least 40% marks in aggregate with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Polytechnic admission in UP is done through an entrance exam named JEECUP. JEECUP is an entrance exam that takes place every year and is organized by the Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic). It aims to provide admissions to various polytechnic institutes within the state. The courses offered through JEECUP 2024 include Technology, Engineering, and Pharmacy. The exam is held online and tests the candidate's knowledge and aptitude in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Only those who qualify for the exam are eligible to participate in the admission process. There is no other way to get admission to the participating institutes of JEECUP.  

To fill out the JEXPO 2024 application form, you will have to visit the official website webscte.org to apply for JEXPO 2024 exams. You can find the application form in the notifications section. Once you click on it, please register on the website and fill in all the details asked in the form. You will also need to choose an exam center that is close to you. Don't forget to upload scanned images of your photograph and signature in the size and format prescribed on the website.

Polytechnic admission in Andhra Pradesh is done through AP POLYCET. AP POLYCET is an entrance test conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh for students who want to pursue diploma courses. The diploma courses are offered by various institutions in Andhra Pradesh State. With AP POLYCET, students can get admission to engineering and non-engineering diploma courses.

As of today, August 22, 2023, there is no information available about the 3rd merit list of BA English for St. Xavier's College Ranchi . The 2nd merit list was released on August 12, 2023. So, the 3rd merit list is expected to be released on August 30, 2023 or in the first weke of September 2023. However, the college may release the merit list earlier or later, depending on the number of applications received.
