مجھے بچپن سے شعر سننے کا شوق ہے۔ شعر کی کئی قسمیں ہیں۔ مثلاً قصیدہ، مرثیہ، رباعی، قطعہ، غزل۔ ان میں غزل مجھے سب سے زیادہ پسند ہے۔ میں نے اکثر غزل گو شعراء کا کلام پڑھا ہے۔ داغ، حسرت، فانی، غالب سبھی کے کلام کے نمونے نظر سے گزرے ہیں لیکن جو لطف غالب کی غزلوں کو پڑھ کر آتا ہے کسی اور کی شاعری سے نہیں حاصل ہوتا۔ اس لیے مجھے “دیوان غالب” سے خاص محبت ہے۔ میں اسے حرز جان سمجھ کر عزیز رکھتا ہوں‌۔ جب کبھی جی اداس ہوتا ہے یا فرصت کے لمحات گزارنے کو کوئی شغل نہیں ہوتا، دیوان غالب اٹھا کر پڑھنا شروع کر دیتا ہوں۔ اس کی غزلیں کہیں بار پڑھ چکا ہوں لیکن ہر بار پڑھنے پر کوئی نہ کوئی نیا نقطہ سوجھتا ہے اور نیا لطف آتا ہے۔ اس سے غالب کے فن کا کمال ظاہر ہوتا ہے۔

غالب کے کلام کی دلکشی کی کئی وجوہات ہیں۔ اس میں فلسفہ بھی ہے اور موسیقی بھی۔ انسانی سماج سے متعلق کئی ایک مسائل پر غالب نے اظہارِ خیال کیا ہے۔ عشق و محبت پر اس نے لکھا ہے:

پھر فرماتے ہیں۔

ایک اور شعر ملاحظہ ہو۔

اخلاق سے متعلق غالب کا شعر ملاحظہ فرمائیں۔

یاس و حرماں پر غالب کا بے مثال سے پڑھئے۔

خودداری کا مضمون جس ادا اور حسن بیان کے ساتھ غالب نے ظاہر کیا ہے شاید ہی کوئی دوسرا شاعر کر سکا ہو۔

درحقیقت کلام غالب میں ہر عمر اور ہر مذہب کے موافق مواد مل جاتا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کے اسے بچے بھی شوق سے پڑھتے سنتے ہیں اور بڑے بھی۔ جاھل اور عاقل بھی اس کے اشعار سن کر سر دھنتے ہیں۔ کوئی اس کلام کے فلسفہ کی وجہ سے اور کوئی کلام کی موسیقی اور فن کاری کے سبب۔

جو چیز سب سے زیادہ مجھے دیوان غالب کی طرف مائل کرتی ہے وہ ہے غالب کا بے نظیر فن۔وہ خیال کو بالکل اچھوتے انداز میں پیش کرتے ہیں۔ ان کی ترکیب الفاظ، چستی، بندش اور حس‌ ادا سب سے نرالی ہے۔ غالب ظرافت کے پردے میں نہایت لطیف باتیں کہہ جاتے ہیں۔ بات سے بات پیدا کرنا کوئی ان سے سیکھے۔ایجاز بیان ان کے کلام کا خاص جوہر ہے یعنی تھوڑے لفظوں میں بہت کچھ کہہ جاتے ہیں۔پڑھنے والا جوں جوں شعر کے معنی پر غور کرتا ہے اسے نئی نئی باتیں معلوم ہونے لگتی ہیں۔ جو خیال یا خوبی بیان پہلی اور سرسری نظر سے اوجھل رہتی ہے دوسری بار پڑھنے پر آشکار ہوجاتی ہے۔ گویا غالب کے شعر دفینے کی حیثیت رکھتے ہیں اور یہ دفینہ دماغی کاوش سے حاصل ہوتا ہے۔ مثال کے طور پر ملاحظہ فرمائیں۔

بقول رشید احمد صدیقی: ” اگر مجھ سے پوچھا جائے کہ ہندوستان کو مغلیہ سلطنت نے کیا دیا تو میں بے تکلف تین نام لوں گا۔ غالب، اردو اور تاج محل”۔اس سے آپ اندازہ لگا سکتے ہیں کہ غالب کا مقام کس قدر بلند ہے اور کیوں لوگ اس کے کلام کے دلدادہ ہیں۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ مجھے “دیوان غالب” سب کتابوں سے زیادہ پسند ہے۔
