- Early October 2024 - Applications open for fall 2025 admissions
- January 31st, 2025 - Recommended deadline for fall 2025 applications. Applications may be considered after this deadline if space is available.

Choose your area of study with the help of our program explorer
Review and understand your academic entrance requirements . Check if you qualify for upper year entry if you have previous post-secondary education
Submit your application at ouac.on.ca
Add the @ocadu.ca domain to your email ‘safe senders’ list and check your junk mail regularly
Receive your email acknowledgement from OCAD U
Submit your portfolio and statement of intent after submitting your application (for admission to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) or the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) programs)
Submit your writing sample , creative profile and official transcripts after submitting your application (for admission to the BA in Visual and Critical Studies)
Receive conditional offer of admission and accept it
Meet all academic entrance requirements and conditions of your offer
Plan and register for your courses online over the summer

Nope! There's new creative writing program at OCAD that specifically focuses on writing :-) if you google 'OCAD creative writing' then it'll come up; i know it's still super new, i think maybe literally a year or two old, so I know many people don't know about it
Most people say that the reason there isn't much detail in the instructions because you just gotta write. I am writing as much spoken word as I can and just make sure it's equivalent to 5 pages as well as a fictional story. My tip is just write as much as you can and be creative with it. 2. Reply.

OCAD University's Creative Writing program is a hands-on, studio-based program about writing as artistic creation. The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 - 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
I'm in creative writing and have had an amazing experience thus far. But when I talk to people in other programs, the answers range from positive to negative experiences. I think a lot of what impacts people's answers is based on what they expect out of OCAD, and how that aligns or differs from what they get.

How it works. All applications for admission are made online through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC). The only entry point is in September each year. The recommended deadline to apply for all programs at OCAD University is February 1. Applications may be considered after this deadline if space is available.
