By seventh grade, students should be refining the core writing skills of brainstorming , researching, outlining, drafting, and revising. In order to hone these skills, seventh-grade students need regular practice writing a variety of essay styles, including narrative, persuasive, expository , and creative essays. The following essay prompts offer age-appropriate starting points to help seventh graders flex their writing muscles.

Narrative Essay Writing Prompts

Narrative essays share a personal experience to tell a story, usually to make a point rather than merely to entertain. These narrative essay prompts encourage students to describe and reflect on a story that's meaningful to them.

• Embarrassing Pasts - As people get older, they are sometimes embarrassed by things they used to like, such as toys, television shows, or nicknames. Describe something that you used to enjoy that you now find embarrassing. Why is it embarrassing now?
• Bonds of Hardship - Sometimes difficulties draw families closer. Describe something that your family endured together that strengthened your relationships.
• There’s No Place Like Home - What makes your hometown special? Explain this special quality.
• New Kid in Town - Being new to a town or school can be challenging because you don’t know anyone, or exciting because no one knows you and your past. Describe a time when you were the new kid.
• Finders Keepers -  Write about a time when you lost (or found) something of value. How did that experience affect your opinion of the saying, “Finders keepers; losers weepers?"
• Follow the Leader -  Describe a time when you were in a leadership role. How did it make you feel? What did you learn from the experience?
• April Fools -  Write about the best prank you’ve ever played on someone (or had played on you). What made it so clever or funny?
• Bon Appetit - Special meals can be powerful memory-makers. Write about a specific meal that stands out in your memory. What made it so unforgettable?
• Bon Voyage - Family trips and vacations also create lasting memories. Write an essay detailing your favorite family vacation memory.
• Batter Up -  Write about a valuable lesson that you learned while playing your favorite sport.
• Best Friends Forever -  Describe your friendship with your BFF and what makes it so important to you.
• The Real Me -  What is one thing you wish your parents, teachers, or coaches really understood or knew about you?
• TV -  Explain what makes your favorite television show so enjoyable or relatable to you.

Persuasive Essay Writing Prompts

Persuasive essays use facts and reasoning to convince the reader to embrace the writer’s opinion or take a course of action. These essay prompts empower seventh graders to write persuasively about an issue they genuinely care about. 

• Outdated Laws - What is one law or family or school rule that you think needs to be changed? Convince lawmakers, your parents, or school leaders to make the change.
• Bad Ads - Advertising can have a powerful impact on consumers. What is a product that you’ve seen advertised that you don’t think should be? Explain why the media should quit showing these ads.
• Puppy Love - You want a pet, but your parents don’t think you need one. What would you say to change their minds?
• Lights, Camera - What is your favorite book of all time? Write an essay convincing a producer to make a movie about it.
• Snooze Button - Studies have shown that tweens and teens need more sleep. Write a proposal for a later school start time.
• Body Shop - Magazines can negatively impact their readers’ body image by using edited images of models. Convince a teen magazine publisher that they should not use heavily-edited model images in their publication.
• It Can’t Be Over - The network is canceling your favorite television show. Write a paper convincing the station that they’re making a mistake.
• Curfews -  Some malls have policies forbidding kids under 18 to be at the mall without adult supervision during certain times. Do you think this is fair or unfair? Defend your position.
• Team Spirit - Should homeschooled students be allowed to play sports on public or private school teams? Why or why not?
• Smartphones - All of your friends have the latest smartphone, but you only have a “dumb phone.” Should your parents upgrade your phone, or are smartphones for middle school kids a bad idea?
• Bullies - Some dogs, such as pit bulls or Dobermans, are labeled “bully breeds.” Is this label deserved or undeserved?
• Money Can’t Buy You Love - People say that money can’t buy happiness, but some studies have shown that people with higher incomes may be happier . Do you think this is true? Why or why not?
• Ratings -  There are age restrictions on movies and video games, ratings on television shows, and warning labels on music. Computers and smartphones offer parental controls. Do adults have too much control over what kids watch and listen to or do these restrictions serve a valuable purpose?

Expository Essay Writing Prompts

Expository essays describe a process or provide factual information. These prompts can serve as jumping-off points for the explanatory process. 

• School’s in Session - Would you rather attend public school, private school, or be homeschooled. Explain the benefits of your choice.
• Admiration -  Who do you admire from your life or history? Write an essay describing how their character or contributions to their community have earned your respect.
• Global Community -  If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? Write about your dream hometown and why you want to live there.
• Peer Problems - Peer pressure and bullying can make life as a middle school student difficult. Describe a time you were pressured or bullied and how it affected you.
• Order Up -  A friend wants to learn how to make your favorite food. Detail the process, step-by-step, so your friend can recreate the dish.
• Addictions - Many people are impacted by drug or alcohol addictions. Share facts about how the use of these substances negatively affects families or communities. 
• Serve Others - Community service is a valuable experience. Describe a time you volunteered. What did you do and how did it make you feel?
• City or Country Mouse - Do you live in a big city or a small town? Explain why you do or don’t like living there.
• Aspirations - What do you want to be when you’re an adult? Explain why you’d choose that career  or what you’ll do to prepare for it.
• Point in Time - Sometimes people bury time capsules so future generations can learn about the past. What would you include to give an accurate snapshot of life in the current time?
• Hobbyist -  You’re friend wants to take up your favorite hobby. Explain it to him.
• SOS - A natural disaster has destroyed homes and businesses in a nearby city. Describe what you can do to help.
• Wonder Twin Power - Some superheroes can fly or become invisible. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

Creative Essay Writing Prompts

Creative essays are fictional stories. They use plot, character, and dialog to engage and entertain the reader. These prompts will get the creative juices flowing. 

• Fan Fic -  Write a story about your favorite characters from a book, film, or television show.
• Cats vs. Dogs - You have two pets of different species. Write a story from their point of view about a day at home alone.
• Time Travel - You find a time machine in your backyard. What happens when you step inside?
• Dream State - Think about a time when you woke in the middle of a vivid dream. What would have happened if the dream hadn’t been interrupted?
• New Door -  You’ve just discovered a door that you’ve never seen before. What happens when you walk through it?
• Secret Keeper - You find out your best friend has kept a secret from you. What is the secret and why didn’t your friend tell you?

I respect all the teachers. But I like Shri R. Tiwari the most. He is my favourite teacher. He is an ideal teacher. He is a young man of 34 years. He is an M.Sc., B.Ed. He belongs to a noble family. He is very sweet and learned. He teaches us Mathematics. He is our class-incharge.

His way of teaching is very simple. He explains everything very clearly. He is the master of his subject. He develops a taste for reading and writing. He does not beat the weak students. Every student does his homework happily. All the students respect him very much. He has many good habits. He is an early bird. He goes out for a walk daily. He takes exercise regularly. He prays to God daily. He puts on neat and clean clothes. ‘Simple living and high thinking’ is the motto of his life. He is never late for school. He is tall, strong, healthy and handsome. He is active and smart. He is a good speaker and sportsman. After the school time he plays with us. He is a social worker. He always helps the poor and the needy. He is very polite. The festival I like Most

Diwali is the most important festival of the Hindus. It means a “row of lamps”. It is a festival of lights. It is one of our most popular festivals. It generally comes off in the last week of October or in the first week of November. The Hindus celebrate this festival in the memory of Shri Ram Chandra’s return to Ayodhya after killing Ravana, the king of Lanka. Great preparations are made before the festival. Houses are cleaned, white-washed and decorated beautifully. Beautiful pictures, photos and calendars are hung in the rooms. Old things are replaced with new ones. The bazaars are over-crowded. The shops are well decorated. There is great rush at the sweets’ and toys’ shops. People buy sweets and toys. They send sweets and presents to their friends and relatives. At night the scene is very beautiful. The bazaars, shops and houses are lit with tiny bulbs. Earthen lamps (Diyas) and candles are in rows on the roofs of houses. Children enjoy fire works and crocker. Children look very happy on this day. The Goddess Laxmi is worshiped at night. But some people gamble on the day to try their luck. It is very bad. It must be stopped. Diwali is a festival of great rejoicings. So it should be celebrated joyfully.

Computer A Wonderful Invention

Computer is one of the wonderful inventions of Sir Charles Babbage who is known as the father of computer. In England Charles Babbage developed a machine to perform complex calculations in1833. The first electronic computer came into existence in 1943. Computer has changed the life style of man. It plays a vital role in every field. In business, computers are used for preparing pay rolls, billing, invoicing, sorting, stock and inventory control etc. Special software packages have been developed which are particularly suitable for commercial and business applications.

In education, computers are used for maintaining records of attendance and fees, for preparing merit lists, date sheets and time tables etc. In banks computers are used for keeping record of each customer and various information such as current balances, deposits, overdrafts, interest charges etc. In hospitals computers are used for maintaining records of drugs, storing, condition of patients, details of tests, clinical reports and for preparing hospital budgets. Computers are used for regulating air, railway, water and surface transportation. Computer is used in the field of education and entertainment. We can see movies on it. If I Win a Lottery Prize

I want to earn money through hard work when I grow up. However, I know how I would use the money if I win a lottery prize, say, of 5 lakh rupees. P LANNING, PARAGRAPHING AND POLISHING: FINE-TUNING THE PERFECT ESSAY

Essay writing is an essential skill for every student. Whether writing a particular academic essay (such as persuasive, narrative, descriptive, or expository) or a timed exam essay, the key to getting good at writing is to write. Creating opportunities for our students to engage in extended writing activities will go a long way to helping them improve their skills as scribes.

But, putting the hours in alone will not be enough to attain the highest levels in essay writing. Practice must be meaningful. Once students have a broad overview of how to structure the various types of essays, they are ready to narrow in on the minor details that will enable them to fine-tune their work as a lean vehicle of their thoughts and ideas.

In this article, we will drill down to some aspects that will assist students in taking their essay writing skills up a notch. Many ideas and activities can be integrated into broader lesson plans based on essay writing. Often, though, they will work effectively in isolation – just as athletes isolate physical movements to drill that are relevant to their sport. When these movements become second nature, they can be repeated naturally in the context of the game or in our case, the writing of the essay.

Planning an essay

The Boys Scouts’ motto is famously ‘Be Prepared’. It’s a solid motto that can be applied to most aspects of life; essay writing is no different. Given the purpose of an essay is generally to present a logical and reasoned argument, investing time in organising arguments, ideas, and structure would seem to be time well spent.

Given that essays can take a wide range of forms and that we all have our own individual approaches to writing, it stands to reason that there will be no single best approach to the planning stage of essay writing. That said, there are several helpful hints and techniques we can share with our students to help them wrestle their ideas into a writable form. Let’s take a look at a few of the best of these:

BREAK THE QUESTION DOWN: UNDERSTAND YOUR ESSAY TOPIC.

Whether students are tackling an assignment that you have set for them in class or responding to an essay prompt in an exam situation, they should get into the habit of analyzing the nature of the task. To do this, they should unravel the question’s meaning or prompt. Students can practice this in class by responding to various essay titles, questions, and prompts, thereby gaining valuable experience breaking these down.

Have students work in groups to underline and dissect the keywords and phrases and discuss what exactly is being asked of them in the task. Are they being asked to discuss, describe, persuade, or explain? Understanding the exact nature of the task is crucial before going any further in the planning process, never mind the writing process .

BRAINSTORM AND MIND MAP WHAT YOU KNOW:

Once students have understood what the essay task asks them, they should consider what they know about the topic and, often, how they feel about it. When teaching essay writing, we so often emphasize that it is about expressing our opinions on things, but for our younger students what they think about something isn’t always obvious, even to themselves.

Brainstorming and mind-mapping what they know about a topic offers them an opportunity to uncover not just what they already know about a topic, but also gives them a chance to reveal to themselves what they think about the topic. This will help guide them in structuring their research and, later, the essay they will write . When writing an essay in an exam context, this may be the only ‘research’ the student can undertake before the writing, so practicing this will be even more important.

RESEARCH YOUR ESSAY

The previous step above should reveal to students the general direction their research will take. With the ubiquitousness of the internet, gone are the days of students relying on a single well-thumbed encyclopaedia from the school library as their sole authoritative source in their essay. If anything, the real problem for our students today is narrowing down their sources to a manageable number. Students should use the information from the previous step to help here. At this stage, it is important that they:

●      Ensure the research material is directly relevant to the essay task

●      Record in detail the sources of the information that they will use in their essay

●      Engage with the material personally by asking questions and challenging their own biases

●      Identify the key points that will be made in their essay

●      Group ideas, counterarguments, and opinions together

●      Identify the overarching argument they will make in their own essay.

Once these stages have been completed the student is ready to organise their points into a logical order.

WRITING YOUR ESSAY

There are a number of ways for students to organize their points in preparation for writing. They can use graphic organizers , post-it notes, or any number of available writing apps. The important thing for them to consider here is that their points should follow a logical progression. This progression of their argument will be expressed in the form of body paragraphs that will inform the structure of their finished essay.

The number of paragraphs contained in an essay will depend on a number of factors such as word limits, time limits, the complexity of the question etc. Regardless of the essay’s length, students should ensure their essay follows the Rule of Three in that every essay they write contains an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Generally speaking, essay paragraphs will focus on one main idea that is usually expressed in a topic sentence that is followed by a series of supporting sentences that bolster that main idea. The first and final sentences are of the most significance here with the first sentence of a paragraph making the point to the reader and the final sentence of the paragraph making the overall relevance to the essay’s argument crystal clear. 

Though students will most likely be familiar with the broad generic structure of essays, it is worth investing time to ensure they have a clear conception of how each part of the essay works, that is, of the exact nature of the task it performs. Let’s review:

Common Essay Structure

Introduction: Provides the reader with context for the essay. It states the broad argument that the essay will make and informs the reader of the writer’s general perspective and approach to the question.

Body Paragraphs: These are the ‘meat’ of the essay and lay out the argument stated in the introduction point by point with supporting evidence.

Conclusion: Usually, the conclusion will restate the central argument while summarising the essay’s main supporting reasons before linking everything back to the original question.

ESSAY WRITING PARAGRAPH WRITING TIPS

●      Each paragraph should focus on a single main idea

●      Paragraphs should follow a logical sequence; students should group similar ideas together to avoid incoherence

●      Paragraphs should be denoted consistently; students should choose either to indent or skip a line

●      Transition words and phrases such as alternatively , consequently , in contrast should be used to give flow and provide a bridge between paragraphs.

HOW TO EDIT AN ESSAY

Students shouldn’t expect their essays to emerge from the writing process perfectly formed. Except in exam situations and the like, thorough editing is an essential aspect in the writing process. 

Often, students struggle with this aspect of the process the most. After spending hours of effort on planning, research, and writing the first draft, students can be reluctant to go back over the same terrain they have so recently travelled. It is important at this point to give them some helpful guidelines to help them to know what to look out for. The following tips will provide just such help: 

One Piece at a Time: There is a lot to look out for in the editing process and often students overlook aspects as they try to juggle too many balls during the process. One effective strategy to combat this is for students to perform a number of rounds of editing with each focusing on a different aspect. For example, the first round could focus on content, the second round on looking out for word repetition (use a thesaurus to help here), with the third attending to spelling and grammar.

Sum It Up: When reviewing the paragraphs they have written, a good starting point is for students to read each paragraph and attempt to sum up its main point in a single line. If this is not possible, their readers will most likely have difficulty following their train of thought too and the paragraph needs to be overhauled.

Let It Breathe: When possible, encourage students to allow some time for their essay to ‘breathe’ before returning to it for editing purposes. This may require some skilful time management on the part of the student, for example, a student rush-writing the night before the deadline does not lend itself to effective editing. Fresh eyes are one of the sharpest tools in the writer’s toolbox.

Read It Aloud: This time-tested editing method is a great way for students to identify mistakes and typos in their work. We tend to read things more slowly when reading aloud giving us the time to spot errors. Also, when we read silently our minds can often fill in the gaps or gloss over the mistakes that will become apparent when we read out loud.

Phone a Friend: Peer editing is another great way to identify errors that our brains may miss when reading our own work. Encourage students to partner up for a little ‘you scratch my back, I scratch yours’.

Use Tech Tools: We need to ensure our students have the mental tools to edit their own work and for this they will need a good grasp of English grammar and punctuation. However, there are also a wealth of tech tools such as spellcheck and grammar checks that can offer a great once-over option to catch anything students may have missed in earlier editing rounds.

Putting the Jewels on Display: While some struggle to edit, others struggle to let go. There comes a point when it is time for students to release their work to the reader. They must learn to relinquish control after the creation is complete. This will be much easier to achieve if the student feels that they have done everything in their control to ensure their essay is representative of the best of their abilities and if they have followed the advice here, they should be confident they have done so.

The invention of Braille was a major turning point in the history of disability. The writing system of raised dots used by visually impaired people was developed by Louis Braille in nineteenth-century France. In a society that did not value disabled people in general, blindness was particularly stigmatized, and lack of access to reading and writing was a significant barrier to social participation. The idea of tactile reading was not entirely new, but existing methods based on sighted systems were difficult to learn and use. As the first writing system designed for blind people’s needs, Braille was a groundbreaking new accessibility tool. It not only provided practical benefits, but also helped change the cultural status of blindness. This essay begins by discussing the situation of blind people in nineteenth-century Europe. It then describes the invention of Braille and the gradual process of its acceptance within blind education. Subsequently, it explores the wide-ranging effects of this invention on blind people’s social and cultural lives.

Lack of access to reading and writing put blind people at a serious disadvantage in nineteenth-century society. Text was one of the primary methods through which people engaged with culture, communicated with others, and accessed information; without a well-developed reading system that did not rely on sight, blind people were excluded from social participation (Weygand, 2009). While disabled people in general suffered from discrimination, blindness was widely viewed as the worst disability, and it was commonly believed that blind people were incapable of pursuing a profession or improving themselves through culture (Weygand, 2009). This demonstrates the importance of reading and writing to social status at the time: without access to text, it was considered impossible to fully participate in society. Blind people were excluded from the sighted world, but also entirely dependent on sighted people for information and education.

In France, debates about how to deal with disability led to the adoption of different strategies over time. While people with temporary difficulties were able to access public welfare, the most common response to people with long-term disabilities, such as hearing or vision loss, was to group them together in institutions (Tombs, 1996). At first, a joint institute for the blind and deaf was created, and although the partnership was motivated more by financial considerations than by the well-being of the residents, the institute aimed to help people develop skills valuable to society (Weygand, 2009). Eventually blind institutions were separated from deaf institutions, and the focus shifted towards education of the blind, as was the case for the Royal Institute for Blind Youth, which Louis Braille attended (Jimenez et al, 2009). The growing acknowledgement of the uniqueness of different disabilities led to more targeted education strategies, fostering an environment in which the benefits of a specifically blind education could be more widely recognized.

Several different systems of tactile reading can be seen as forerunners to the method Louis Braille developed, but these systems were all developed based on the sighted system. The Royal Institute for Blind Youth in Paris taught the students to read embossed roman letters, a method created by the school’s founder, Valentin Hauy (Jimenez et al., 2009). Reading this way proved to be a rather arduous task, as the letters were difficult to distinguish by touch. The embossed letter method was based on the reading system of sighted people, with minimal adaptation for those with vision loss. As a result, this method did not gain significant success among blind students.

Louis Braille was bound to be influenced by his school’s founder, but the most influential pre-Braille tactile reading system was Charles Barbier’s night writing. A soldier in Napoleon’s army, Barbier developed a system in 1819 that used 12 dots with a five line musical staff (Kersten, 1997). His intention was to develop a system that would allow the military to communicate at night without the need for light (Herron, 2009). The code developed by Barbier was phonetic (Jimenez et al., 2009); in other words, the code was designed for sighted people and was based on the sounds of words, not on an actual alphabet. Barbier discovered that variants of raised dots within a square were the easiest method of reading by touch (Jimenez et al., 2009). This system proved effective for the transmission of short messages between military personnel, but the symbols were too large for the fingertip, greatly reducing the speed at which a message could be read (Herron, 2009). For this reason, it was unsuitable for daily use and was not widely adopted in the blind community.

Nevertheless, Barbier’s military dot system was more efficient than Hauy’s embossed letters, and it provided the framework within which Louis Braille developed his method. Barbier’s system, with its dashes and dots, could form over 4000 combinations (Jimenez et al., 2009). Compared to the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet, this was an absurdly high number. Braille kept the raised dot form, but developed a more manageable system that would reflect the sighted alphabet. He replaced Barbier’s dashes and dots with just six dots in a rectangular configuration (Jimenez et al., 2009). The result was that the blind population in France had a tactile reading system using dots (like Barbier’s) that was based on the structure of the sighted alphabet (like Hauy’s); crucially, this system was the first developed specifically for the purposes of the blind.

While the Braille system gained immediate popularity with the blind students at the Institute in Paris, it had to gain acceptance among the sighted before its adoption throughout France. This support was necessary because sighted teachers and leaders had ultimate control over the propagation of Braille resources. Many of the teachers at the Royal Institute for Blind Youth resisted learning Braille’s system because they found the tactile method of reading difficult to learn (Bullock & Galst, 2009). This resistance was symptomatic of the prevalent attitude that the blind population had to adapt to the sighted world rather than develop their own tools and methods. Over time, however, with the increasing impetus to make social contribution possible for all, teachers began to appreciate the usefulness of Braille’s system (Bullock & Galst, 2009), realizing that access to reading could help improve the productivity and integration of people with vision loss. It took approximately 30 years, but the French government eventually approved the Braille system, and it was established throughout the country (Bullock & Galst, 2009).

Although Blind people remained marginalized throughout the nineteenth century, the Braille system granted them growing opportunities for social participation. Most obviously, Braille allowed people with vision loss to read the same alphabet used by sighted people (Bullock & Galst, 2009), allowing them to participate in certain cultural experiences previously unavailable to them. Written works, such as books and poetry, had previously been inaccessible to the blind population without the aid of a reader, limiting their autonomy. As books began to be distributed in Braille, this barrier was reduced, enabling people with vision loss to access information autonomously. The closing of the gap between the abilities of blind and the sighted contributed to a gradual shift in blind people’s status, lessening the cultural perception of the blind as essentially different and facilitating greater social integration.

The Braille system also had important cultural effects beyond the sphere of written culture. Its invention later led to the development of a music notation system for the blind, although Louis Braille did not develop this system himself (Jimenez, et al., 2009). This development helped remove a cultural obstacle that had been introduced by the popularization of written musical notation in the early 1500s. While music had previously been an arena in which the blind could participate on equal footing, the transition from memory-based performance to notation-based performance meant that blind musicians were no longer able to compete with sighted musicians (Kersten, 1997). As a result, a tactile musical notation system became necessary for professional equality between blind and sighted musicians (Kersten, 1997).

Braille paved the way for dramatic cultural changes in the way blind people were treated and the opportunities available to them. Louis Braille’s innovation was to reimagine existing reading systems from a blind perspective, and the success of this invention required sighted teachers to adapt to their students’ reality instead of the other way around. In this sense, Braille helped drive broader social changes in the status of blindness. New accessibility tools provide practical advantages to those who need them, but they can also change the perspectives and attitudes of those who do not.

Baltimore  Mayor Brendon Scott  said on X that he was aware of the incident and was en route to the bridge. "Emergency personnel are on scene, and efforts are underway," he said.

The 1.6 mile, 4-lane bridge named for the author of the "Star-Spangled Banner," was the second-longest continuous-truss bridge span in the United States and third in the world.

2024 NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels reveals his thoughts on possibly playing in Tom Brady's shadow with Patriots

The lsu star is widely expected to be a top-five pick.

Jayden Daniels met with the New England Patriots after LSU's Pro Day, reinforcing the possibility of a draft-day team-up between the two sides. And the soon-to-be-rookie quarterback has no fear of following in the footsteps of future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady , telling reporters this week he's "ready for anything," even a potential high-pressure role in New England.

"I played in Death Valley after Joe Burrow ," Daniels said Wednesday, per the Boston Globe . "I feel like I'm ready for anything. I'm a game-changer at the quarterback position. That's what I can bring to that franchise."

Burrow, of course, went on to become the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft , and the fellow LSU signal-caller has been one of the league's top quarterbacks when healthy, helping the Cincinnati Bengals advance to two AFC title games in his first three years. Brady, meanwhile, hasn't played for the Patriots since 2020, but his shadow looms large, with New England struggling to replace the longtime Super Bowl-winning starter in the years since his exit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

Rumors circulated earlier this NFL offseason that Daniels, who was born and raised in California and started his college career at Arizona State, might be disinterested in playing for the Patriots because of the team's colder location. But the LSU star quickly denied that, indicating he'd suit up for whichever club selects him in April.

"Whoever wants to draft me (is where I want to play)," he explained. "Whoever believes in me. There's stuff that I can't control. I can't control who's calling my phone on draft day."

The Patriots have been upfront about their interest in adding a long-term quarterback, entering the draft under new head coach Jerod Mayo . They recently traded 2021 first-round pick Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars , and they currently own the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft. Daniels is widely expected to go in the top five.

Dallas Cowboys mock draft: How does strength of draft class impact early round picks?

Although there are players who remain on the open market the Dallas Cowboys could sign, free agency is more than two weeks old and the draft is less than a month away. The roster has holes that need to be filled, so that’s not to say free-agency signings — if the Cowboys make any — would be for nothing. But in terms of high-impact solutions, the draft is where most of the attention is at in this point in the offseason.

The Cowboys are set to enter the draft with seven picks. They don’t have a fourth-round pick because of the Trey Lance trade and gained a fifth- and sixth-round presence by virtue of compensatory picks after they traded away their own last year for Stephon Gilmore and Brandin Cooks .

Round 1, Pick No. 24

Tyler guyton, ot, oklahoma.

There were offers made to trade back a few picks to the basement of the first round, and it’s worth entertaining. The Cowboys have a lot of holes, whether it’s positions that need starters or more depth, and they don’t have a ton of draft picks, so adding to the arsenal is intriguing.

But the Cowboys have a glaring need on the left side of the offensive line and have expressed the desire to keep Tyler Smith at left guard. There is a pretty clear line in the sand with this draft class in that there are the top six offensive tackles and then a drop-off. Guyton is toward the bottom of that top six.

Guyton primarily played right tackle at Oklahoma, but he has the tools to make the switch, just as Tyron Smith did a decade ago following his career at USC. The Cowboys are open to developing a player with those tools on the other side. With five tackles already off the board at this point, Guyton was the only player left who could confidently profile as the Week 1 starting left tackle.

If Jackson Powers-Johnson had been available, the decision would have been much harder between him and Guyton. Powers-Johnson is arguably the top center in this class, and the Cowboys have the option to kick Tyler Smith out to tackle and play T.J. Bass at left guard. Without Powers-Johnson on the board, the offensive line selection came down to Guyton or Graham Barton. How deep the center class is and how thin the tackles class is tipped the scales to taking Guyton at No. 24.

Round 2, Pick No. 62 (trade)

Sedrick van pran, c, georgia.

Moving back six spots meant the ability to swap the fifth-round pick with the Baltimore Ravens and gain their third-round pick at No. 93, so that was a pretty easy trade to make, especially with no player with blinking lights still on the board.

There are a few things Van Pran will need to clean up, but he comes from championship pedigree and has shown the ability to handle business in the run game and pass protection. His size isn’t ideal (6 foot 4, 298 pounds) and is a reason why he could be available at this point, but his skill helps him overcome some of that. If Guyton is the first pick and Smith remains at left guard, playing in between Smith and Zack Martin would be a huge luxury for a rookie going against NFL defensive tackles.

Round 3, Pick No. 87

Braelon allen, rb, wisconsin.

The Cowboys didn’t do much in free agency to compensate for the loss of Tony Pollard . Aside from re-signing Rico Dowdle , they are essentially beginning from scratch at the position. There are still some veteran running backs available, but the Cowboys also seem content to be young and inexperienced at the position.

Allen is a complete back, capable of running inside or bouncing it out. His production in college speaks for itself (35 touchdowns in three seasons), but it’s his tools that make him an exciting fit in the NFL. He’s one of the youngest running backs in this draft class at 20 years old.

Allen may not be the lead back immediately, but he has the potential to develop into one. In the meantime, he can make for an effective duo with Dowdle and potentially a dynamic trio if Malik Davis emerges. Hunter Luepke should be an asset in the run game as well as the passing attack and offer some margin for error as a new-look rushing attack finds its way.

Round 3, Pick No. 93 (trade)

Jeremiah trotter jr., lb, clemson.

The Cowboys weren’t just missing production from linebacker last year, they were lacking warm bodies capable of playing the position. This is the one position they actually did go out and address in free agency by signing Eric Kendricks , but Kendricks is more of a Band-Aid than a long-term plan.

Trotter would have the benefit of playing a sheltered role in Dallas, getting his feet wet on special teams and learning from a veteran in Kendricks, who knows the new defensive coordinator’s defense well. He can also lean on other young guys like DeMarvion Overshown and Damone Clark . If Overshown turns out to be as advertised, he’ll be the face of that position in Dallas for years, and Trotter should have an opportunity to be an effective sidekick, like the Luke Kuechly-Thomas Davis days in Carolina.

Round 6, Pick No. 216

Mohamed kamara, edge, colorado state.

Getting a player like Kamara at this point in the draft would be exciting for the Cowboys. Even as he dealt with a lot of change in college — three head coaches at Colorado State — Kamara was a consistent player and produced well in rushing the passer.

Like many players in the trenches, Kamara’s measurables (6-1, 248) not being up to par is a reason why he could fall. There’s always some level of mystery at this point in the draft, but Kamara’s resume provides enough that he has a solid chance at carving out some sort of role on the team, especially if he’s looked at to be a complementary piece on a defensive line that already has high-end talent in the rotation.

Round 7, Pick No. 233

Jamree kromah, dt, james madison.

Playing defensive tackle requires a lot to make the jump to the NFL, as the Cowboys are already seeing with Mazi Smith . It’s highly unlikely that a Day 3 pick at the position would be an instant part of the equation, let alone a Group of 5 player like Kromah. However, Kromah had a sneaky good season, overshadowed a bit by the effectiveness of his teammate Jalen Green, who had a statistically superior season.

Kromah’s greatest asset is his versatility. At James Madison, he played everywhere on the defensive line, overpowering offenses from the interior and using his speed and athleticism on the edge. Obviously, he’s not going to be that same player at the NFL level, but he offers the opportunity for NFL teams to mold him into wherever they need him most and/or where he can be most effective.

Round 7, Pick No. 244

Darius muasau, lb, ucla.

This is a spot I would have loved to take a flier at a number of positions, including the secondary, wide receiver or even quarterback. However, there just wasn’t anybody on the board who felt compelling enough. Muasau is a solid player, and linebacker is a spot the Cowboys can use as much talent to sift through as possible.

Theory of mind level AI will be able to better understand the entities it is interacting with by discerning their needs, emotions, and other thinking powers. And the last Self-awareness AI, which, self explanatorily, is an AI that has evolved to be so akin to the human brain that it has developed self-awareness.

AI is the solution to minimize human errors. Moreover, it never gets tired or wears out easily. We use a new device named ‘Alexa’, it’s fun learning and enjoying while the speedy mobile works are done by ‘Siri’. The smart cars are developed with a smart call system, to track the exact location and nearby positions. The AI also has some medicinal applications, it's said that time and tide waits for none, the doctor uses the artificial machine intelligence in patient’s treatment. AI is an alternative in many human risk situations; great research scientists use AI in calculating the flood intensity where human safety is vulnerable. 

There are countless pros and cons of any system, even a coin has two sides; it's up to the user the way he makes use of it. But in actuality, AI improves our thinking ability and to reach the horizon, even it states new horizons for the growing individual and expands its reach beyond the ocean and space. Time evolves from using a hand-fan to using smartphones to switching on the fan from the bed itself. The people must accept the new technologies and innovate for better lives and the divination of the country. 

AI is unable to exhibit human emotions so there is no reason to expect the AI to be benevolent. Furthermore, it is neither pocket-friendly, it requires a huge cost as it is a complex machine, not only its installation cost but also the maintenance and repair cost is huge. The major drawback is its not learning with the growing experience, it performs the same task in the same way as the algorithm installed inside it. Artificial Intelligence Types

There are two types of Artificial Intelligence:

The Narrow AI also known as  Weak AI. This is AI that operates within a limited context and simulates human intelligence. Narrow AI focuses on performing a single task extremely well, operating under constraints and limitations than the most basic human intelligence. Google search, Alexa or Siri, image recognition softwares, self-driving cars etc. are all examples of narrow AI.  

Artificial General Intelligence  or AGI is also referred to as Strong AI is the type of AI we see in the movies. Remember the robots from the TV show Westworld or Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation? AGI, like humans, can apply their general intelligence to solve any problem.

There are many pros and cons to any system. In the end, it is about how one decides to use it. 

AI doesn’t come cheap though. It involves a huge one-time cost for installation and then a constant spend on the maintenance and repair cost. So far, AI hasn’t been able to show or understand human emotions so there is no reason to expect the AI to be either benevolent or badly behaved. The major drawback of AI is that it  performs the same task in the same way each time as per the algorithm installed inside it. Also, the overuse and overdependence on AI is causing creativity to vanish slowly and steadily.

The examinations began at 10.30am and concluded at 1.30pm. This year, a total of 39 lakh students from 26 countries are taking the examinations. In the national capital, the examinations are being held at 877 examination centers, with 5.80 lakh students appearing.

"The paper was easy to moderate. There were case studies where we had to think deeply, but overall, it was a completely balanced and diverse paper. All the important questions that we were taught about were a part of this paper. The paper was neither difficult nor easy," said Kashvi Arora, a Class 12 student from Indraprastha International School.

Student Describes Business Studies Exam As Tough "The paper wasn't easy for me; it felt like a journey. Many case studies were challenging and left me puzzled. The multiple-choice questions were also confusing, requiring a lot of thinking. I ended up spending more time on questions than I should have. Despite its length, I managed to finish within the allotted time. Overall, it was a tough paper where you had to be extremely careful, especially with the case studies, as they could either earn you full marks or nothing in between," said Ridhima, a student from a school in Delhi.

Over the past few seasons, Kirby Smart has done an excellent job of maximizing the talent output of his roster. If winning back-to-back national titles in 2021 and 2022 was not an indication of this, then having more than 20 combined players taken in the past two NFL Drafts surely is. 

But while Smart and his staff do an excellent job of developing the Bulldogs roster, some players are talented enough to make an impact almost as soon as they arrive in Athens.  and Malaki Starks who each started multiple games as true freshman during the 2021 and 2022 seasons respectively have become household names in the sport of college football.

What we know about Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse

The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed early Tuesday after being hit by a cargo ship, with large parts of the bridge falling into the Patapsco River.

At least eight people fell into the water, members of a construction crew working on the bridge at the time, officials said. Two were rescued, one uninjured and one in serious condition, and two bodies were recovered on Wednesday. The remaining four are presumed dead. The workers are believed to be the only victims in the disaster.

How it happened: The container ship lost power shortly before hitting the bridge, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said. Video shows the bridge collapse in under 40 seconds.

Victims: Divers recovered the bodies of two construction workers who died , while finding other vehicles trapped and probably containing the other victims, officials said. They were fathers, husbands and hard workers . The entire crew aboard the container ship Dali survived . First responders shut down most traffic on the four-lane bridge after the crew issued an urgent mayday call. It saved lives, Moore said.
