How to Download Study Material at UNISA: A Step-by-Step Guide

Downloading study material online is essential for students who are enrolled in distance learning programs. At the University of South Africa (UNISA), students can access their study material online without having to wait for printed copies to be delivered. However, some students may find the process of downloading study material to be confusing or intimidating. This article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to download study material at UNISA.

To begin, students will need to log in to their myUNISA account using their student number and password. If they have not yet activated their myUNISA account and claimed their myLife e-mail account, they will need to do so before they can access their study material. Once they are logged in, they can navigate to their module site to access their study material.

On the module site, students will find a link to download their study material. They can choose to download the material in PDF format or access it online. It is important to note that some modules may require students to purchase additional study material, which can be done through the UNISA online bookstore. By following these steps, students can easily download their study material at UNISA and begin their studies without delay.

Understanding UNISA’s Study Material

UNISA provides study material to its students in both printed and digital formats. The study material is designed to help students understand the course content and prepare for their exams. The study material includes textbooks, study guides, and other resources that are specific to each course.

UNISA’s study material can be accessed through the myUNISA platform. Students can log in to their myUNISA account and access their study material from there. Alternatively, students can also download their study material from the UNISA website.

It is important to note that the study material provided by UNISA is only for the use of registered students. Sharing or distributing the study material to non-registered individuals is strictly prohibited and can result in disciplinary action.

Students should also ensure that they have the correct study material for the courses they are registered for. The study material is specific to each course and may vary from semester to semester. Students can check their myUNISA account to confirm which study material they require.

In summary, UNISA’s study material is an essential resource for students to prepare for their exams and understand the course content. Students can access their study material through the myUNISA platform or by downloading it from the UNISA website. It is important to ensure that the correct study material is obtained and that it is only used by registered students.

Creating a UNISA Student Account

Before a student can access their study material from UNISA, they need to create a student account. Here are the steps to create a UNISA student account:

  • Go to the UNISA website at www.unisa.ac.za
  • Click on the “myUnisa” tab located at the top of the page
  • Click on “Claim Unisa Login” if you haven’t yet activated your myUnisa account and claimed your myLife e-mail account. Follow the instructions to activate your account.
  • Once your account is activated, click on the “Login” button and enter your student number and password to access your account.

It is important to note that students must have an active email address to create a UNISA student account. Students can use their myLife email account provided by UNISA or any other active email address they have.

Creating a UNISA student account is a simple process that enables students to access their study material, tutorial schedules, academic literacy resources, and other important information.

Navigating the UNISA Student Portal

Accessing the myunisa dashboard.

To access the MyUNISA dashboard, students must first navigate to the UNISA website and click on the “myUNISA” tab in the top right-hand corner of the page. From there, they will be prompted to enter their student number and password. If they have not yet activated their myUNISA account, they can do so by clicking on the “Claim Unisa login” button and following the instructions provided.

Once logged in, students will be directed to the dashboard, which serves as the central hub for all their academic information. Here, they can view their course schedules, check their grades, and access their study materials.

This will direct them to a page that displays all the modules they are currently enrolled in. From there, they can select the module they wish to access and click on the “study material” tab.

Once on the study material page, students can view and download all the materials related to their course, including lecture notes, textbook chapters, and assignments. They can also access any additional resources provided by their lecturer, such as videos or online tutorials.

It is important to note that study materials may not be available for download immediately after enrollment. It may take a few days for the materials to be uploaded to the portal, so students should check back periodically if they do not see their materials right away.

In conclusion, accessing and downloading study materials from the UNISA student portal is a straightforward process. By following the steps outlined above, students can easily navigate the portal and access all the resources they need to succeed in their courses.

Selecting the Correct Course Material

Photo of StudentRoom

Are you an enrolled student at the University of South Africa (Unisa) who is having trouble submitting your assignments? Assignments for Unisa can be turned in online through the myUnisa dashboard, in a box designated for that purpose, by mail to the University of South Africa, or by courier.

Assignments at UNISA help you master the material and be ready for exams while also assisting instructors in determining your understanding of the subject.

They are necessary and required, and you cannot take the exam unless you have finished the corresponding tasks.

It is important to always keep a copy of your assignment in case the university does not receive an assignment and you are requested to re-submit a copy.

Watch this video which shows you how to prepare, format, complete & submit Unisa assignments or read the guide below.

To submit an assignment, use a file format that can be uploaded to myUnisa. These formats are listed in the “ Specify the type of file ” drop-down list on the submission screen.

A pdf file is the preferred option (formatting and layout are retained). Do not submit assignments in write-protected/read-only pdf formats. Use only the Adobe pdf format.

Information on pdf converters can be found on your dashboard under “ Electronic resources ”. Navigate to the assignments tool to start the process.

When you click “ Continue ”, your assignment will be uploaded to the Unisa network.

This may take several minutes depending on the size of your assignment and the speed of your internet connection.

Once the assignment is received, its details will be displayed on your screen for final checking. You can either go back and make corrections or click on the “ Submit assignment ” to submit it.

Ensure that your answers to multiple-choice questions are ready before connecting to the internet. It will cost you money to work out answers while online. Check for mistakes before submitting your Unisa assignment.
