Submitting Assignments

IMPORTANT: Before making your submission, please read Things to be aware of before submitting .

When an assignment is available for you to submit, it will become a clickable link on the Coursework area in Blackboard. Alternatively, you may access it directly through the left hand course menu in the course in a content area named ‘Assessment’ or or if for a resit, the ‘Resit Materials’ content area). Your instructor should advise you where to access your assignment if held in a different location in your course.

For students submitting Panopto files , please see the guidance on how to submit below.

QUICK STEPS: submitting an assignment

  • Enter the Coursework area or the appropriate content area in the course.
  • Click on the assignment’s title.
  • Review the Instructions and any files attached by the instructor.
  • Expand the Upload Files section and use the browse options to attach your submission file. You may attach multiple files - re-select the browse option to attach another file. Each file you’ve attached will be listed as you attach them.
  • Do not use the ‘Text Submission (embed content such as Panopto)’ option unless specifically instructed to do so by your instructor, or you need to attach a Panopto file ( see below ). Any text added to this area will be displayed to your instructor as html and may not be marked.
  • Do not enter text in the Comments text box area, unless specifically instructed to do so by your instructor.
  • Click Submit . Please be aware that large files may take a while to submit and it may seem like nothing is happening. Please stay on the submission screen (do not navigate away) and wait for the submission complete.

Submitting Panopto files to an assignment

For students who have been asked to record or upload a video file using Panopto, you first need to access Panopto and upload or record your media file in your My Folder . Once you have completed this, you make your actual assignment submission following the quick steps below.

Important note 1 : It is essential that you allow ample time before the submission deadline to upload your recoding to the Panopto cloud (we recommend that you allow at least two hours before the submission deadline). Depending on the size of the file, Panopto will take some time to convert the file before it is available to attach to your assignment submission through Blackboard.

Important note 2 : To avoid upload problems, it is recommended that you upload very large media files over a wired internet connection rather than wifi.

Important note 3 : Uploading or creating a file in your Panopto My folder area does not constitute a submission and instructors will not be able to access your file. You need to complete the assignment submission process following the below steps.

Important note 4 : If you are recording PowerPoint slides these will need to be saved to and opened from your desktop. Not saving and opening from your desktop may result in your recording failing to upload.

Important note 5 : Submissions MUST be made using the Panopto Video Student Video submission option from the add Content (+) button within the text editor. Using the Panopto Video option will result in no recording being added to the submission.

Important note 6 : Edits to your recording will need to have been made prior to submission for online assessment (if you have already submitted, any edits will not be seen by your marker). If you wish to edit after submission you will need to resubmit to the assignment after the edits have been made.

Important Note 7 : Students are able to view Panopto content attached to their submission from their receipt on the Blackboard Coursework tab. Select the Panopto link under ‘Submission Text’. If it is only the Panopto content that has been added to a submission, a warning message will show on the Coursework tab to indicate that no files are attached but the Panopto content itself will be visible via the receipt. The warning message relates to file attachments that you browse to rather than mashup content.

QUICK STEPS: submitting a Panopto file to an assignment

  • Enter the Coursework area.
  • Click on the assignment’s title.
  • Click on the ‘Text Submission (embed content such as Panopto)’ option and the text editor will display.
  • To show all the rows of the editor’s functions click on the … icon in the top right.
  • Click the + icon
  • Select Panopto Student Video Submission from the list. Note : Do NOT use the Panopto Video option – this will result in no recording being added to the submission
  • You will see the contents of your My folder area in a new window. Select the recording that you want to attach to your submission. Note : If using Safari you may need to enable cookies and Cross-Site Tracking. On an iPhone or Ipad – Open settings, Scroll down and select Safari, Under Privacy and security – turn off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” and “Block All Cookies”.
  • Click the Submit Video button
  • You will now see a link to your Panopto file in the text editor. If you need to attach any other Panopto files, we recommend you use the return key to move to a different line in the text editor window before repeating steps 6, 7 and 8 again.
  • If you need to attach any other files to your submission use the Browse My Computer button to find and select them.
  • When you have attached all the files you are required to, select Submit.

Important : We strongly recommend that you check your submission has been uploaded successfully by following the guidance on the Checking your submission was successful page.

Late submission window

The 48-hour late submission window is effective from 1 September 2023. Late submissions before this date will have five days.

What is the 48-hour late submission window?

You are expected to plan your workload to avoid being impacted upon by a minor illness or other causes, such as technical issues. However, if you encounter unexpected difficulties, a 48-hour late submission window is available to all students, during which you can submit your assignment without penalty.

An assignment cannot be submitted after the late submission window has ended. Failure to submit the assignment within the 48-hour late submission window will result in a non-submission being recorded.

Can I access support during the 48-hour late submission window?

For the assignment that is due, your programme or module team will not be able to provide with you any additional assignment support within the 48-hour window. You will, however, be able to access support from other UWE Bristol services such as Student Support Advisers  and the Wellbeing Service .

Do I need to provide evidence to use the 48-hour late submission window?

No, if you are unable to meet the original hand-in deadline you do not need to provide a reason or evidence indicating why you need to use the late submission window.

Reasonable adjustment to a deadline

The reasonable adjustment length is 14 days following the original hand-in deadline for students who are eligible for the reasonable adjustment, as a disabled student, carer of a disabled person or due to pregnancy, maternity, and paternity. There are certain exceptions to this. Please see our page on applying for a reasonable adjustment for more information.

Apply for a reasonable adjustment

For resit submissions, the reasonable adjustment length is 5 days following the original hand-in deadline.

There may be cases where the 48-hour late submission window cannot be accommodated for due to the nature of an assignment. These assignments will be exempt from the 48-hour late submission window, and you must submit by the deadline. You can check whether your assignment is exempt on the module Blackboard page or the assignment brief.

Further support

We want all our students to be able to succeed and so we want to support you if personal difficulties or circumstances affect your studies and mean that you may be unable to complete, submit or attend assessments. If this happens to you, please contact us via the Information Point  and we will give you advice and support.

If you do not pass a module at the first sit, you will normally get an automatic resit. Find out more about uncapped resits .

Our  Information Point staff  will help you understand the options available, and can refer you to specialist staff or support processes as appropriate to your situation.

Who will write my essay?

On the website are presented exclusively professionals in their field. If a competent and experienced author worked on the creation of the text, the result is high-quality material with high uniqueness in all respects. When we are looking for a person to work, we pay attention to special parameters:

  • work experience. The longer a person works in this area, the better he understands the intricacies of writing a good essay;
  • work examples. The team of the company necessarily reviews the texts created by a specific author. According to them, we understand how professionally a person works.
  • awareness of a specific topic. It is not necessary to write a text about thrombosis for a person with a medical education, but it is worth finding out how well the performer is versed in a certain area;
  • terms of work. So that we immediately understand whether a writer can cover large volumes of orders.

Only after a detailed interview, we take people to the team. Employees will carefully select information, conduct search studies and check each proposal for errors. Clients pass anti-plagiarism quickly and get the best marks in schools and universities.

BSc(Hons) Urban Planning

This course is open for applications

Page last updated 30 November 2023

Introduction

This course is accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) as a spatial degree and has high levels of student satisfaction and employability.

Accreditations and partnerships:

Why urban planning.

Simply put, planning is all about making places 'better'. It's about improving their attractiveness, making them healthier and fairer, and making them more resilient to change. It's about helping to deliver a zero-carbon world and solving problems and dealing with change. Its about the here and now, as well as what goes where and when in the future.

Planners are the agents of change. Not only are they expected to protect the places that we treasure, they also need to plan for the new homes, jobs and infrastructure that we need. As a planner, you'll need to work collaboratively and creatively, creating the places that can showcase the latest thinking in such things as energy, transport and sustainable design.

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) accredits this course. Visit their Planning Your World resource that showcases a selection of planners and the wide-ranging work that they do.

Why UWE Bristol?

This BSc(Hons) Urban Planning degree will encourage you to consider the contemporary challenges affecting place and society today.

You will learn how to design and deliver development and change, and find out about the individuals and groups you will need to work with to carry out successful projects. You'll examine current issues such as the impact of driverless cars, and develop the knowledge and skillset you will need to be a future-facing, visionary practitioner.

Accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute, the course will enhance your employability through opportunities to work on live project briefs across the city and meet active practitioners. You'll also undertake inspiring field work showcasing the differences that planners have brought about.

You'll be able to work with real-life clients through a professional experience module included in year two, while you can also opt to apply your learning through a year-long placement. Where possible, you can also experience global planning practice through our study exchanges, and develop wide-ranging skills that extend from design to the financial appraisal of a project.

Where can it take me?

Planning is a global career with opportunities across the public, private and voluntary sectors.

You could also go on to a career in an area linked to the environment such as housing, tourism, economic development, regeneration, and environmental protection.

Careers / Further study

There is a projected shortage of planners so there will be a range of opportunities in the public, private and voluntary sectors.

You could choose a career in an area linked to the environment such as housing, tourism, economic development, regeneration, and environmental protection. You could also go into research and teaching.

Many of our students progress to become professional members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). The quickest route for this requires further study. Options for this at the UWE Bristol Planning School include MSc Urban Planning or MSc Planning and Urban Leadership . Both of these programmes can be studied in full and part-time modes to fit around your individual circumstances.

Planning and Urban Leadership can be studied online giving you complete flexibility. After completing this study, you then need to take a programme of work experience under the RTPI's Assessment of Professional Competence. You can then become a Chartered Planner and use the letters 'MRTPI' after your name.

You can also achieve chartered membership by undertaking a longer period of work experience that will require you to work to becoming an Associate and then a Chartered member of the institute.

Past students have gone on to work for local authorities, planning research centres and private sector companies including Turley Associates, Terence O'Rourke, Crest Nicholson, Persimmon and Savills.

Get inspired

Our award-winning  careers service  will develop your employment potential through career coaching and find you graduate jobs, placements and global opportunities.

We can also help find local volunteering and community opportunities, provide support for entrepreneurial activity and get you access to employer events.

Who can help me write my essay?

At the end of the school year, students have no energy left to complete difficult homework assignments. In addition, inspiration is also lacking, so there are only a few options:

  • do not write a scientific work;
  • write it badly;
  • delegate these responsibilities to other people.

Most often, people choose the latter option, which is why companies have appeared on the Internet offering to take full responsibility.

When you visit the site, the managers clarify all the details in order to correctly design the article. They select a person who is well versed in the topic of the report and give him your task.

You will not be able to personally communicate with the writer who will do your work. This is done to ensure that all your personal data is confidential. The client, of course, can make edits, follow the writing of each section and take part in the correction, but it is impossible to communicate with the team.

Do not worry that you will not meet personally with the site team, because throughout the entire cooperation our managers will keep in touch with each client.

Is buying essays online safe?

Shopping through online platforms is a highly controversial issue. Naturally, you cannot be completely sure when placing an order through an unfamiliar site, with which you have never cooperated. That is why we recommend that people contact trusted companies that have hundreds of positive reviews.

As for buying essays through sites, then you need to be as careful as possible and carefully check every detail. Read company reviews on third-party sources or ask a question on the forum. Check out the guarantees given by the specialists and discuss cooperation with the company manager. Do not transfer money to someone else's account until they send you a document with an essay for review.

Good online platforms provide certificates and some personal data so that the client can have the necessary information about the service manual. Service employees should immediately calculate the cost of the order for you and in the process of work are not entitled to add a percentage to this amount, if you do not make additional edits and preferences.
