Four - Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP)

Syllabi components.

Each syllabus will be electronically available with a navigation system which will help a student to navigate various components of a syllabus. The essential components of a NEP-enabled syllabus are:

Subject name (such as Physics, Chemistry, Economics etc.)

Course name (aka Paper such as Mathematical Physics, Organic Chemistry, Indian Economy etc.) Paper code will assigned through an algorithm afterwards

Existing base syllabus (if any)

Course level (refer to UGC's Curricular Framework)

0-99 : Pre-requisite

100-199 : Foundation & Introductory

200-299 : Intermediate-level

300-399 : Higher-level

400-499 : Advanced course

500-599 : First-year Masters-level

600-699 : Second-year Masters-level

700-799 : Doctoral-level Course levels 0-499 are for FYUGP

PhD Admission - GU-RET 2023

Guret 202 3.

GURET (GU Research Eligibility Test) is the first screening test after the Central Application Process ( CAP ) for admission into the PhD Programmes of GU, unless an applicant qualifies for an exemption.

Structure, Timing & Marking

The GURET 202 3 will  held in offline mode on Sunday, 2 July , 202 3 . The duration of the examination will be 120 minutes (2 hours), in which the applicant has to answer 100 MCQ. For every right answer, 1 mark will be awarded and for every wrong answer 0.25 mark will be deducted. There will no marking for un-attempted questions.

The syllabus for the GURET 2020 will be that of the concerned Master's subject. The syllabi for all Master's Courses can be found here .

Exemption from GURET 202 3

Exemption from appearing in the GURET 202 3 does not mean automatic admission into the PhD Programme. It is just a benefit awarded to certain deserving applicants. An exempted applicant will necessarily have to go through the process of Counselling before she/he can be admitted into the PhD Programme. Hence, all deserving candidates should apply through the Central Application Process (CAP). Recipient of CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRF and any National Level Fellowship / Scholarship (awarded for the PhD prgramme by a National Agency, such as INSPIRE Fellowship, MHRD etc.) in the concerned subjects are exempted from appearing in the GURET 202 3, subject to verification and approval by the competent authority of GU.

  Eligible International Students are also exempted from appearing in the GURET 20 23 .

The final admission of exempted applicants into the PhD programme will be limited to a maximum of 50% (fifty percent) of total admitted applicants in any discipline in any academic year. Therefore, a candidate who is exempted from GURET may appear in GURET for admission through GURET, if the candidate is unable to get a seat out of the 50% seats.

It should be NOTED that irrespective of any exemption from appearing in the GURET 202 3 that might be awarded to a prospective applicant, the applicant MUST complete the CAP and pay the requisite fee.

A list of Exempted Applicants will be published prior to GURET 2 02 3 .

After GURET 202 3

The university will publish a merit list for each subject (in this website only) based on the performance of the student in the GURET 20 2 3 .

The merit list will be considered by each department for counselling.

The final list of selected candidates will be prepared by concerned Departmental Research Committee (DRC) and will be uploaded in the website of the Office of the Academic Registrar, GU for online admission of the candidates.

Average Infrastructure. Few departments are developed. Now good canteen facilities are available. Library facility is good. Zoology department has good molecular biology lab. Chemistry lab has also good equipments. Hostel facilities are not good

This was an average college and not had much fun.

Title : Active carbons as nanoporous materials for solving of environmental problems

However, up to now, the main carriers of catalytic additives have been mineral sorbents: silica gels, alumogels. This is obviously due to the fact that they consist of pure homogeneous components SiO2 and Al2O3, respectively. It is generally known that impurities, especially the ash elements, are catalytic poisons that reduce the effectiveness of the catalyst. Therefore, carbon sorbents with 5-15% by weight of ash elements in their composition are not used in the above mentioned technologies. However, in such an important field as a gas-mask technique, carbon sorbents (active carbons) are carriers of catalytic additives, providing effective protection of a person against any types of potent poisonous substances (PPS). In ESPE “JSC "Neorganika" there has been developed the technology of unique ashless spherical carbon carrier-catalysts by the method of liquid forming of furfural copolymers with subsequent gas-vapor activation, brand PAC. Active carbons PAC have 100% qualitative characteristics of the three main properties of carbon sorbents: strength - 100%, the proportion of sorbing pores in the pore space – 100%, purity - 100% (ash content is close to zero). A particularly outstanding feature of active PAC carbons is their uniquely high mechanical compressive strength of 740 ± 40 MPa, which is 3-7 times larger than that of  such materials as granite, quartzite, electric coal, and is comparable to the value for cast iron - 400-1000 MPa. This allows the PAC to operate under severe conditions in moving and fluidized beds.  Obviously, it is time to actively develop catalysts based on PAC sorbents for oil refining, petrochemicals, gas processing and various technologies of organic synthesis.

Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin was directed to work to the scientific-industrial organization "Neorganika" (Elektrostal, Moscow region) where he is working during 47 years, at present as the head of the laboratory of carbon sorbents.     Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly). Professor of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. Scientific interests: production, investigation and application of active carbons, technological and ecological carbon-adsorptive processes, environmental protection, production of ecologically clean food.
