When I was in school, my school celebrated national youth day every year. All students go to the city ground for a rally, and a program is also held. All school teachers and principals give speeches on national youth day and regard Swami Vivekananda. After this, some students also give lessons. Many types of programs and events happen on that day. After events and programs, principals and teachers offer a prize to the event winner.

After school, in my home, my father used to give a speech and tell the importance of national youth day. He always tells us never to be on the loser's side, to try to win. My father took me to the library on that day to show me many types of novels written by Swami Vivekananda and gave me the novel book "Swami Vivekananda".

When I come to college, I usually go to the library and read a biography of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda is a great inspiration for all youth of our country. My friends and I used to talk about his life and the work he did for society.

Good afternoon Ladies and gentlemen. I am here before you today to deliver a speech about youth. Life has given us a huge and noble gift and that is the youth. Biologically youth is a particular stage of life when an individual is young, and often means the time between childhood and adulthood (maturity). This age represents “the appearance, freshness, vigor, spirit, etc., characteristic of one who is young”.

Youth is a lifetime experience that may shape an individual. It creates the level of dependency, which can be marked in various ways according to different cultural perspectives. At this phase of life, the youth is always driven by fantasy or freedom and the power to choose his or her response.

But all this must be cautiously exercised and every step should be planned. It is the best and appropriate phase to accomplish the dual goals of intelligence and character.

Youth is a critical age of development, a period of uncertainty when everything is in ferment. A youth personality possesses a mixture of both stages; a child and an adult. Their emotions change every time. Like he can be selfish at certain times or turn out to be selfless the very next day.

The same person may also turn out to be rebellious one day. This age is full of heroism, toughness, muscle, stimulation, curiosity, judgmental attitude and even much more. Youth, being argumentative in nature, develop an attitude of apt rationale and judgment.

Youths in Nation Building

The youths have a much more important role in nation-building than you might think. The future of the country depends on them and they represent it at every level. Every youth is equally responsible, for a country’s future. They are the building blocks of a country.

The youths are very energetic and enthusiastic. They have the ability to learn and adapt to the environment. Similarly, they are willing to learn and act on it as well to achieve their goals. Social reforms and improvement of our society is in the hands of youth.

We cannot make changes or progress without the youth of a country. we are the witness of how the development of any country requires active participation from the youth generation.

For any country, in any field, whether it is the technical field or sports field, youth is needed.  It does not matter which field we want to progress. It is our responsibility to help the youth in playing this role properly.

Youth Issues and Dealing

Drug abuse is a major youth problem. They use drugs to deal with other issues affecting them and get addicted to it. Peer pressure or poor parenting also result in drug addiction. School violence these days has become a major phenomenon in schools where youths riot and get violent.

Carrying weapons to harm and injure others among the youths is a harmful youth issue. They get into the race to show themselves powerful. Materialism is another major youth issue. These issues are not only harmful to the youths but society too has to pay for this. Proper parenting and education is most vital and should involve bringing up children in a way that they understand the vices of society.

The basic step to solving this problem from roots starts from home and our education systems. The education board should include youth issues in the system so that they are addressed and dealt with even before youths get involved.

Youth is the best period of life to cherish a big dream full of passion and energy. Although, the period is also full of joy, dreams, adventures yet they have to be looked for with the eyes open. It is the actual time when we can provide form and shapes to our ideas for the economic development of society.

To conclude I must say that it is the time to move towards the destination which can be made possible through vocational awareness and critical study of individual differences.

Good (—) to one and all present here. I am here today to speak a few words about youth. As we all know, youth is the time between childhood and adulthood. It is the time when we are young, energetic, impulsive, and full of vigor and strength. We are at our best during the youth, be it physically, mentally, intellectually, etc. It is also the time when we try to be independent and self-sufficient in life, find our partners, get jobs, and try to settle in life.

The youths are the strength and backbone of society. They develop strong ideologies and beliefs and will be impulsive enough to act upon it and stand up for what they believe. They understand the pulse of the new society and have the potential to bring about revolutions. They can also be a major source of inspiration for the growing children. 

It is during the youth that we get major life experiences. As we go on to become independent, we find to discover ourselves even more as days pass. We tend to get more perspectives on every matter. We get to be more rational and logical and will be able to create a clear distinction between the fantasies and realities of the world. We crave freedom and autonomy and it acts as a driving force for all our major activities. The youths are the most important elements required to build the nation.

They make effective leaders as they can better understand the world they live in and will be able to guide their successors, keeping in mind the changing world. Through their energy and zeal, they can acquire new skills quickly and will be able to adapt to the changing environment in a better way.

Youth is a confusing stage for most people as it is a mixture of clarity and obscurity. You want to be childish like you were before, but you also want to be mature and act your age. Some youths tend to have mental instability during this period as they may not be able to cope with the mental pressure that they have to handle during this period of life. Many people get into drug and alcohol abuse. Most people realize after a while, but for others, it must have been too late.

This is why it is said that youth is the time when you have to be the most cautious. You can end up living a life of suffering or you can make the most out of it. The choices that they make during this period is very important, regarding their career, relationships, etc. 

In conclusion, youth can be the best period of your life. You need to understand your potential and not waste it by engaging in useless activities, instead understand the need of the hour and use your power and energy towards the betterment of the world. Keep yourself and others from harm. Aim big, work hard, be passionate, and keep your eyes open.

I have entitled my speech “LET NO MAN DESPISE YOUR YOUTH.

I can remember when I read the story of David the first day, it clicked in my mind, how this young man would defeat Goliath who had everything that is needed, you can imagine all the weapons at disposal for the giant man, those youths present here who have not read this story, you can refer to the book of first Samuel chapter seven and you will find it there.

It is a narrative that is very relevant to us as youths who encounter many challenges in life, we have peer pressure, we struggle with many things in life and as well many of us are trying to discover themselves.

You can remember from the story how Jesse didn’t realize the capability of David, when he asked this question. Let me quote it.. Samuel asked him, "Are these all the sons you have?" "There is still the youngest," he answered, "but right now he's tending the sheep." Samuel told Jesse, "Send for him. We won't sit down to eat until he gets here."

According to the father of David, he was just a young boy who would not do anything, even the brothers didn’t believe that David would was capable.

As we celebrate this day of the youths in our church. Let us ask ourselves these questions, how many times have people disapproved you because you are a youth? Majority of us sited here today we have been shoved aside because of our age.

Do you take it as an offense?

Do you despise yourself and even decide to indulge to other things so that you can be accepted, let us remind ourselves today that the same words that Apostle Paul spoke to Young Timothy during those years is very relevant today, this is what Paul told young Timothy and I quote.. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).

As youths let us remembers that we are capable of doing anything that the Lord has called us to do so that others can learn from us.

The Missouri teen who slipped into a coma after her head was mercilessly bashed into the pavement in a twisted after-school brawl has slowly begun the road to recovery — but has no recollection of the beating.

Kaylee Gain, 16, has “been able to engage in limited verbal conversations” in the week since she was moved out of the intensive care unit, her family announced Friday.

“Kaylee also recently began speech therapy, and has gone on a few short walks with the assistance of hospital staff as she is still unable to ambulate on her own,” attorney Bryan Kaemmerer, a spokesperson for Gains, said in a statement.

“However, Kaylee does not have any recollection of the altercation that led to her hospitalization.”

The small steps mark significant strides for the teenager, whose family initially thought she would never recover from the fight that led to brain bleeding and a skull fracture.

Chilling footage of the March 8 attack showed an unidentified girl pin Gains down before repeatedly striking her head on the concrete just blocks from Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake.

The 15-year-old bully was taken into custody and charged with assault.

The Gains family on Friday also accused the perpetrator of sharing a series of social media posts boasting about the violent attack — including jokes that the beatdown would qualify her to “join MMA or WWE.”

The alleged posts have since been taken down, they said.

“Given that Kaylee began visibly convulsing within seconds after the attack, the serious nature of Kaylee’s injuries should have been immediately apparent to the accused,” Kaemmerer said, adding that the posts indicate a “complete disregard for the well-being of a fellow human being and serves as further proof that the accused is an ongoing threat to the community.”

Gain’s family — as well as Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey — have been pushing for the unnamed girl to be tried as an adult for the vicious crime.

The girl’s family defended the honor roll student , who they claimed had been “harassed and bullied” before the beatdown — a detail the Gains family said points as further proof that she knew the severity of her actions.

“If anything, the accused’s reported level of intelligence suggest that she was fully capable of understanding that violence of this nature would lead to the devastating injuries that Kaylee has sustained, and therefore provides a further reason why it is appropriate for her to be tried as an adult,” Kaemmerer said.

The full scope of the attack and the motive are still unclear.

Gain and another student were suspended the day prior for another altercation that did not result in any injuries, according to her family, who suggested the violent assault could have been in retaliation.

With all the vibrant charts on all subjects carefully hand-made by the students, and artistically displayed on the walls and thoroughly cleaned classroom, the school gets a complete face-lift.

Long Annual Day Speech in English for Students

Good morning, to all the wonderful people present to Day. It is a pleasure to begin this auspicious occasion by welcoming everyone. We all have gathered here for the Annual Day celebration which is held to celebrate the talent and skills of our children and reward them for the same. 

Our children have demonstrated their skills through numerous competitions at the school or inter-school level and It gives us immense pleasure to share with you all that not only in sports competitions but our school children perform excellently in JSTSE, Olympiad of all subjects, essay writing competitions and many other academic competitions. 

Competitions are opportunities that we provide to our students, where they can test their education and evaluate them by participating in various sports and academic programs. We believe in a method of learning which encourages each child to actively participate and inculcate good sportsmanship. At the class level, children who have difficulties whether it be in public speaking, stage fear, or lack of confidence to perform are encouraged to come forward by creating a comfortable environment so that they can win over their fears. Our methods of teaching are holistic and inclusive. This Annual festival is a perfect example of this, ensuring that every child participates and performs. 

It gives each student a chance to come forward and demonstrates what is good in academia and non-academic activities. We feel that without the outlet of their abilities, the entire teaching process is incomplete. We have therefore established this as a necessity on this Annual Day and have planned the Annual Day program in such a way that even talent such as art should be taken into account.

You'll see lots of pictures and posters if you look around. The names and classes of students who have drawn, sketched or painted these images are reported by each individual. Take some time to go through this precious art gallery, as identification is also needed. Who knows that it might be your child who had this talent, even if you didn't know it. And some works of art are award-winning submissions.

Typically, on an Annual Day, there is a drama and dance, but this time we have added a new category, which is quite popular these days. They show them on every TV channel in the entertainment category - I'm talking about the stand-up comedy segment. Yes, we have some very talented kids here who are going to roll you with laughter barrels. So, brace for a nice Day. Our young children have organized a show that is a musical drama; mid-school people are busy practicing for dance-dramas, which our younger budding talented dance gurus have told me to choreograph. Let’s welcome them for success! 

Short Annual Day Speech in English

Good morning to everyone present here. It's an extremely proud and emotional moment for us all on this very special day, as our school is going to complete one more fantastic year. I would like to wholeheartedly invite you all to our school's Annual functions. We have always heard the saying from our elders, "School life is the best, make the most of it," and today I can relate to it. Now I fully understand why the friends we make at school are said to be nothing less than family. 

Special arrangements have been made to make this special day memorable. As we have our parents as well, it will be twice the fun with us on that particular day. There are different acts, singing and dancing displays, specially prepared by the students. For our parents and teachers, we have arranged various fun events, to make this day a memorable one for them as well. Some games are also planned where students can also participate. 

This is our way of saying thank you to our parents and teachers for always loving us and being there for us. We've added a brand new segment on this Annual Day. We also included a selection of games that are played as a team by children and parents. It is a guarantee that it will be a nice affair and we will all enjoy it; on the one hand, on the other hand, children and parents and teachers and school staff. Simple sports such as Tug of War, Three-Legged Race and Relay Race will be held in the school greens immediately after the conclusion of the show in the auditorium. I am sure that we will all participate wholeheartedly and parents are a great help and do not disappoint us, which is a healthy way to end our Annual Day.

It is a pleasure to welcome you all here today, for our Annual Day celebration, a day we all look forward to, every year. Today is the Day to celebrate our young creative and talented students. This year, our children have outshone and brought laurels to this institution, by demonstrating their skills in various competitions at the school as well as inter-school level. Our students have performed well not only in the various sports competitions, but have shown excellent results in the JSTSE, the Olympiad of all subjects, in essay writing competitions and many other academic competitions. This Annual Day program is held to recognize each of our students for all that they have achieved and to encourage them to keep up with their good work. It gives each student a chance to come forward and demonstrate their specific skills and interests, whether in academics, sports or any other extracurricular activities. 

We believe that without this encouragement, the entire teaching process is incomplete. We have therefore planned the Annual Day program in such a way that every child who has shown excellence in any discipline should be recognized. We also believe that this could go a long way in motivating others too.

This year, unlike the past years where we always had a dance-drama enacted by our very own children, we have a new category, a stand-up comedy segment which has become very popular to Day. And, this will be brought to you by our very own StandUp Comedians!

Day-to-day lives of Alice Springs children limited by youth curfew ahead of school holidays

While the youth curfew in Alice Springs has generated a much quieter city centre, it has impeded the lives of the town's young people on the brink of school holidays.

The town's youth population of nearly 7,000  has been affected by the two-week curfew , put into place on Wednesday in response to riots in the CBD and a surrounding town camp.

The curfew bans all children under age 18 from the town centre between 6pm and 6am.

It was put in place ahead of the Easter long weekend and the Territory's school holiday period.

Over the first three nights of the curfew, police said authorities had 127 interactions with young people in the CBD who were either found to have a "lawful purpose" or were taken home or to another "safe place" .

One of those interactions was with 18-year-old Armani Francois, a case support worker who was escorting family members through the CBD when she was approached by police.

"We've seen police come up to us, ask for ID and it's like, 'I'm 18. I'm the older cousin. We're just coming to get burritos'," she said.

"And it was like, 'yeah, no worries'."

"It was kind of an intimidating experience, but that's what it is with police I guess."

"It's a lot harder when you have those other Indigenous mob that don't speak English."

Ms Francois is also a participant in the Redtails Pinktails Right Tracks program, which engages young people through local sport clubs.

Sport is a popular pastime in the town — many train for and play in amateur and social leagues throughout the week.

Ms Francois said the curfew was "unfair" on her and her peers, and that it impeded their freedom and ability to exercise.

"It's kind of hard with this curfew, when you have people that are active, and their lifestyle has been this way since grade five [or] grade six, and going into adulthood," she said.

"Training here normally finishes at seven o'clock, so [we're] lucky this oval isn't in the CBD or else we'd be getting flagged."

Ms Francois said she believed it was unfair all children were being "painted with the same brush", and there needed to be a better solution in place to curb crime.

"It's definitely achieving quite good statistics with children off streets, but I think it's very temporary again," she said.

"It's another temporary fix, and it's a bandaid effect on a wound that's a lot deeper." 

The curfew message is struggling to reach Indigenous communities

Maxine Carlton lives at Anthelk-Ewlpaye (Charles Creek) town camp with her son Alex and grandkids Jahzaelin, aged 9, and Akeal, aged 7.

It's a mere 200 metres from her house, across a dry creek bed, to where the curfew zone begins.

Ms Carlton said authorities did a poor job of informing communities about the curfew, and had yet to receive any promised fact sheets or visits from liaison officers.

She learnt about the curfew through social media, but said the same can't be said for other children in the town.

"Our kids won't know why they're getting arrested because they haven't been told about the curfew or don't even understand it. It wasn't explained to them," she said.

"I had to explain to young kids what the curfew is. It's very hard explaining [to] them that you can't leave home."

"Nowadays, kids want to go over [to the town's takeaway venues] because the Wi-Fi's free. How's [the curfew] going to play with our kids? Where are they going to go?"

Advocates say curfew system has flaws

Ms Carlton said the government-imposed curfew is another example of authorities interfering with community affairs, and that conflicts needed to be resolved within communities.

"People in government need to be told that we've got our cultural authority, we know how to deal with issues like this," she said.

But others are calling for members of these communities to stand up and take further action to end violent crime in Alice Springs.

Gavin Morris is the principal of Yipirinya, an independent school specialising in educating Indigenous kids in both English and traditional language.

He said the curfew had seen some positives, with the Todd Mall now clear of young people during the night.

But he said the system was deeply flawed and not a one-size-fits-all solution.

"If [children] are getting picked up in the curfew [zone] and then dropped home to a responsible adult … that doesn't exist for all of the students and children that we see in harm's way in the middle of the night," he said.

Like many other advocates and local leaders , Mr Morris said long-term solutions need to be developed now to stem crime in the town in the future.

He highlighted living conditions as an area service providers needed to put work into, pointing to the town camps many Indigenous people live in.

"We've got 16 [or] 17 town camps surrounding Alice Springs in absolutely diabolical living conditions, and that needs to be addressed," he said.

"We wouldn't accept that in any other part of Australia." 

Mr Morris insists local leaders and Aboriginal service providers need to step up in the immediate future, otherwise the Indigenous communities in and around Alice Springs will be negatively impacted down the line.

"Unless we have a child protection system, which is fluid, which is culturally appropriate, which is nuanced to the Alice Springs community, we're going to have a continuing conversation around generational impacts in terms of getting this wrong."

The two-week curfew in Alice Springs ends on Wednesday 10th April.

White   House Announces Theme and Activities for the 2024 Easter Egg   Roll

First Lady and “First Teacher” Jill Biden Continues “EGGucation” Theme for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll

Today, the White House announced the full program of activities for the 2024 White House Easter Egg Roll, a tradition dating back to 1878.  A teacher for more than 30 years, First Lady Jill Biden is continuing her theme of “EGGucation” for the event, transforming the South Lawn and Ellipse into a school community, full of fun educational activities for children of all ages to enjoy. 

In addition to the time-honored traditions of rolling and hunting eggs, this year’s White House Easter “EGGucation” Roll will also feature a School House Activity Area, Reading Nook, Field Trip to the Farm, Picture Day, a Physical “EGGucation” Zone, a Snack Time Tent and more.  The South Façade of the White House will be adorned with balloons, marked with STEAM school subjects, a nod to Dr. Biden’s belief that with EGGucation, “all students can soar.”  

In total, approximately 40,000 people will take part in this year’s Easter “EGGucation” Roll, including thousands of military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors. Tickets for the general public were distributed to guests from all across the country through an online public lottery. 

The American Egg Board, on behalf of America’s Egg Farmers, continues its more than 45-year history of participation in the event as our legacy partner in support of the White House Easter Egg Roll.   

This year’s event will be broken into nine sessions, beginning at 7:00 AM ET and ending at 7:00 PM ET.  Follow along with the White House Easter “EGGucation” Roll activities with #EasterEggRoll and #EGGucation, and the official @White House, @POTUS, and @FLOTUS social media accounts on X, Facebook, and Instagram.
