પ્રસ્તાવના: અમારી વિદ્યાલયનું નામ શારદા સરસ્વતી મંદિર છે. આ વિદ્યાલય અમદાવાદમાં છે. આ વિદ્યાલયને સ્થાપિત થયે લગભગ પચાસ વર્ષ થઈ ગયા છે. એને પ્રાથમિક વિદ્યાલયથી શરૂ કરવામાં આવી હતી. વિદ્યાર્થીઓની વધતી સંખ્યાને કારણે એને હવે હાઈસ્કૂલ બનાવી દેવામાં આવી છે. આ વિદ્યાલયનાં ભણતર તેમજ અનુશાસન-વ્યવસ્થા અતિ ઉત્તમ છે. આસપાસના ગ્રામીણ ક્ષેત્રથી પણ વિદ્યાર્થી એમાં ભણવા આવે છે. અહીંયા રહેવાવાળા સરકારી અધિકારીઓ તેમજ કર્મચારીઓના બાળકો પણ આ જ વિદ્યાલયમાં ભણે છે.

વિદ્યાલયમાં પરિસર: અમારું વિદ્યાલય-ભવન ખૂબ મોટું છે. આ ભવનમાં પચ્ચીસ ઓરડા છે. અહીંયા વિદ્યાર્થીઓની સંખ્યા વધતી જઈ રહી છે. આથી અહીંયા ઓરડાઓનું નિર્માણ પ્રતિવર્ષ કરવામાં આવે છે. બધા ઓરડાઓમાં પંખાઓ તેમજ રોશનીની યોગ્ય વ્યવસ્થા છે.

વિદ્યાલયનું ખૂબ જ મોટું પુસ્તકાલય છે. વિદ્યાર્થીઓના વિષયોથી સંબંધિત પુસ્તકોની સાથે જ્ઞાન-વિજ્ઞાનની પુસ્તકો પણ અહીંયા છે. અનેક પત્ર-પત્રિકાઓ અહીંયા બરાબર આવતી રહે છે. વિદ્યાલયની વચ્ચે મોટો તેમજ સુંદર બગીચો છે.

વિદ્યાલયમાં ખેલનું મોટું મેદાન છે. અહીંયા સમય-સમય પર હૉકી, ફુટબૉલ, વૉલીબૉલ, ક્રિકેટ અને બેડમિંટન વગેરે ખેલ થાય છે.

વિદ્યાલય પરિવાર: વિદ્યાલયના પ્રધાનાચાર્ય શ્રી રામચંદ્ર શાસ્ત્રી છે. તેઓ યોગ્ય, કુશળ તેમજ અનુશાસનપ્રિય વ્યક્તિ છે. વિદ્યાલયમાં લગભગ પચાસ શિક્ષક છે. પ્રત્યેક વિષયના અધ્યાપક પોતાના વિષયમાં નિપુણ અને કુશળ છે. વિદ્યાલયમાં લગભગ ત્રણ હજાર વિદ્યાર્થી ભણે છે.

ઉપસંહાર: હકીકતમાં અમને અમારી વિદ્યાલય પર ગર્વ છે. અહીંયાની પ્રત્યેક વસ્તુથી અમને અત્યંત સ્નેહ છે. વિદ્યાલયના બધા વિદ્યાર્થી આપસમાં નેહભાવ રાખે છે. આ વિદ્યાલયમાં આવીને વિદ્યાધ્યયન કરીને જ્યાં અમારી બુદ્ધિનો વિકાસ થાય છે, ત્યાં જ અમારું શરીર પણ પુષ્ટ તેમજ સ્વસ્થ થાય છે.

ભારત વિવિધતાનો દેશ છે. પશ્ચિમના મોટાભાગના દેશોમાં, લોકો પાસે એક પ્રમાણભૂત ડ્રેસ છે પરંતુ ભારતમાં દેશના વિવિધ ભાગોમાં લોકો દ્વારા પહેરવામાં આવતા ડ્રેસની અનંત વિવિધતા છે. ડ્રેસ ભારતીય જાહેર કરતું નથી. મુક્ત ભારતની રાષ્ટ્રીય પ્રતિષ્ઠા માટે જરૂરી છે કે સમગ્ર દેશ માટે એક સમાન પોશાક હોવો જોઈએ. તે રાષ્ટ્રીય એકીકરણ તરફ એક પગલું હશે.

અમારા હેડમાસ્ટર કડક શિસ્ત છે. તેની પાસે ગણવેશ માટેનો સ્વભાવ છે. તે અમારા શહેરમાં સૌપ્રથમ એવા વ્યક્તિ હતા જેમણે શાળામાં બધા માટે સમાન ગણવેશ રજૂ કર્યો. તેમાં બ્રાઉન શૂઝ, સફેદ મોજાં, ખાકી શોર્ટ્સ, સફેદ શર્ટ અને ઉનાળા માટે સફેદ ગાંધી કેપ અને ખાકી શોર્ટ્સને બદલે ખાકી પેન્ટ અને શિયાળા માટે સફેદ શર્ટ પર નેવી બ્લુ બ્લેઝરનો સમાવેશ થાય છે. શીખો સફેદ ગાંધી ટોપીને બદલે સફેદ પાઘડી પહેરી શકે છે.

જ્યારથી આ ગણવેશની રજૂઆત થઈ છે ત્યારથી શાળાની શિસ્તમાં ઘણો સુધારો થયો છે. છોકરાઓ સ્માર્ટ અને એક્ટિવ લાગે છે. શાળાના મુલાકાતી છોકરાઓના યુનિફોર્મથી પ્રભાવિત થાય છે. છોકરાઓ શાળાના ગણવેશ પર ગર્વ લેવા લાગ્યા છે. અમીર અને ગરીબ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ વચ્ચેની અસમાનતા દૂર થઈ ગઈ છે.

બધા એકસરખા પોશાક પહેરે છે અને કોઈ પણ છોકરાને તેના નબળા પોશાકને કારણે કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની હીનતાની લાગણી નથી. શનિવારે શાળાના પંદરસો છોકરાઓને ગણવેશમાં સામૂહિક કવાયતમાં અથવા રૂટ માર્ચ માટે જતા જોવાનું દૃશ્ય છે. સૈનિકોની જેમ યુનિફોર્મમાં કૂચ કરી રહેલા છોકરાઓ જે પ્રભાવશાળી તમાશો રજૂ કરે છે તે જોવા માટે દરેક વટેમાર્ગુ અટકી જાય છે. જ્યારે યુનિફોર્મમાં છોકરાઓ હોકી, ફૂટબોલ કે ક્રિકેટ રમે છે ત્યારે તેઓ જાજરમાન લાગે છે.

ટ્રુઅન્સીમાં ઘટાડો થયો છે. શાળાનો એક છોકરો, શેરીઓમાં ભટકતો અથવા સિનેમા હોલની આસપાસ ફરતો, તરત જ મળી આવે છે. ચોરાયેલી ચોપડી વેચતો શાળાનો એક વિદ્યાર્થી પણ થોડા સમયમાં ઝડપાઈ ગયો. શાળાનો છોકરો કોઈ છોકરા સાથે ઝઘડતો હોય કે બીજી શાળાના છોકરાઓ પણ ધ્યાને આવે.

The idea of school uniforms seems like an antiquated concept for many North Americans. Unless a child attends private school, it is not normally practiced by children and families. Yet around the world, wearing school uniforms is the norm. Students studying in schools requiring school uniforms generally perform very well academically and seem happy wearing the same outfit every day. There are many benefits to wearing school uniforms that schools in Canada and the United States should incorporate into their public schools.

One of the biggest concerns in schools these days is bullying . Students are harassed physically, verbally, and socially. The latest trend in bullying is cyberbullying. Often, the cause of bullying stems from people being different for not wearing the “right” clothes. If someone looks richer, most people feel like they have a higher social status or more power. To the contrary, uniforms allow children to learn on a more level playing field, with less judgment about clothing choices, brands of clothing, or physical appearance.

A lot of students who wear uniforms claim that they feel more proud of their school. Wearing school colors gives students a feeling of being more connected to their school and classmates. If there is a sense of community and connectedness among the students, the use of foul language, gang behavior, and crimes like vandalism are largely eliminated. Wearing school uniforms can also help people gain more self-confidence because they know they are a part of something bigger.

One of the main concerns people have about wearing school uniforms is conformity. People fear that by making children look the same, their individuality will be suppressed. However, this is not the case. Accessories, such as bracelets and hair clips, can jazz up a school uniform. Besides, students can wear their own clothing after school and during weekends. An individual’s personality is not wholly expressed by fashion alone. Personality is determined by the way a person moves, feels, thinks, and talks. Wearing a school uniform neither defines a child’s personality nor erases it.

There are even more advantages to wearing school uniforms in public schools in addition to those previously mentioned. It means lower costs for parents during back-to-school shopping. However, the idea that bullying might be alleviated is the leading reason why schools should implement the wearing of uniforms. The other is the fostering of school pride. Students will not lose their personality but will merely learn new ways to express themselves.
