Essay on Unforgettable Day in My Life

Students are often asked to write an essay on Unforgettable Day in My Life in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Unforgettable Day in My Life

Introduction.

Life is a series of experiences, but some days are unforgettable. One such day for me was when I won the school’s annual science fair.

The Preparation

I had spent countless hours preparing my project on renewable energy sources. The process was challenging but exciting.

The day of the fair was filled with anticipation. When the time came, I presented my project confidently.

The moment the judges announced my name as the winner, I was overwhelmed with joy. It was an unforgettable day as my hard work was recognized.

250 Words Essay on Unforgettable Day in My Life

The dawn of the unforgettable day.

Life is a succession of moments, each one unique and distinct. However, some days leave an indelible imprint on our minds, shaping our perspectives and lives. One such day in my life was a profound turning point, etched in my memory forever.

The Unanticipated Surprise

It was a seemingly ordinary day, but the postman brought an unexpected letter. The envelope bore the logo of a prestigious university, and my heart pounded as I tore it open. Inside was an acceptance letter for a scholarship to study at this esteemed institution. Overwhelmed with joy and disbelief, I felt the earth shift beneath my feet.

The Epiphany

This wasn’t just an acceptance letter; it was a testament to my hard work, perseverance, and dreams. It was a validation of my capabilities, a beacon of hope amidst uncertainties. This day taught me that dreams do come true if one is willing to strive relentlessly.

The Aftermath

The news spread like wildfire, and soon I was surrounded by family and friends, their faces mirroring my euphoria. The day culminated in a small, intimate celebration, the joy of which was magnified by the shared happiness of my loved ones.

This unforgettable day was a milestone in my life. It was a testament to the power of dreams, hard work, and resilience. It reminded me that life is full of surprises, and sometimes, they come when we least expect them. This day was a turning point, a day that propelled me towards a path of growth and self-discovery.

500 Words Essay on Unforgettable Day in My Life

Life is a blend of moments, some memorable, some ordinary, and some unforgettable. An unforgettable day in my life was when I experienced the exhilarating thrill of paragliding for the first time. This day not only brought me an adrenaline rush but also instilled in me a fresh perspective on life.

Anticipation and Uncertainty

The day started with a blend of anticipation and uncertainty. The thought of soaring high in the sky, with the wind against my face, was both exciting and nerve-wracking. I had always been a bit of an adventure junkie, but paragliding was a step beyond my comfort zone. The sheer height at which the activity takes place was enough to make my heart pound. However, I was determined to overcome my fear.

The Leap of Faith

The moment arrived when I had to take the leap of faith. Strapped into the harness, I could see the vast expanse of the sky above and the ground below. The instructor’s words echoed in my ears, “Just run, and don’t stop until you’re in the air.” As I sprinted down the slope, the wind caught the parachute, and within moments, I was airborne. The initial fear was replaced by a sense of exhilaration. The world below seemed miniature, and the sky was a canvas of endless possibilities.

Epiphany in the Sky

The feeling of floating in the air, detached from the world, was an enlightening experience. It was a moment of epiphany where I realized that life is about pushing your boundaries and overcoming fears. The view from the top was breathtaking, and for the first time, I experienced a sense of liberation that I had never felt before. The world, with all its problems, seemed trivial from such great heights. It was a stark reminder of how small we are in this vast universe and how our worries are just a speck in the grand scheme of things.

As my feet touched the ground, I was a different person. The unforgettable day had changed my outlook on life. It taught me that fears are just mental blocks that hold us back from experiencing the true essence of life. The day also reminded me of the importance of living in the moment. The memory of soaring high in the sky, feeling the cool breeze against my face, and witnessing the world from a bird’s eye view is still fresh in my mind. It was indeed an unforgettable day, a day that taught me to live fearlessly and embrace life with open arms.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

The Most Unforgettable Moment in My Life

The most memorable moments of my life.

Everyone’s life is full of memorable moments. Some moments are quite unforgettable. There have been many unforgettable moments in my life. I would like to mention one of them.

Please enable JavaScript

The most unforgettable moment in my life is when one day I was travelling from Jammu to Dehli by train. I was in the first class, so only a few passengers were there with me. At a specific station, all of them got off. I was now in the compartment absolutely alone.

After a moment, a clever lady walked into the compartment and sat next to me. She had an ingenious scheme to rob me. She told me she would report to the railway police that I had robbed her if I did not hand over all the money I had to her. I was totally and utterly perplexed when I heard this horrible voice. I made a plan to save myself from that lady’s wicked plan. Therefore, I pretended to be a deaf and a dumb fellow and asked her to write what she wanted to say on a piece of paper. She wrote her request happily on the piece of paper and handed it over to me. I changed my seat to pick up a piece of writing. The railway policeman came and asked what the matter was. As smart as she was, the women burst into admissions, so she said I had robbed her of a thousand rupees. He seemed to believe in her false story at first, but when I gave the piece of writing to the police, she turned pale. She was caught red-handed, so I saved myself from her evil scheme.

  • Keep the readers intrigued. While writing, structure the things logically. Let your readers go through this journey with you. Start from the least important events and gradually reach the most crucial part of your essay.
  • Describe the moments precisely. Make sure your story is detailed and emotional enough. Describe what did you feel as the event occurred. How did the surrounders respond? What were the conditions under which the event happened? Your reader should dive deep into that atmosphere.

❓ Who to Write about?

Creating a paper about someone you know well is, of course, the best option. It is good to know several stories about them that you can introduce in the essay.

By the way, you can use those stories or anecdotes as a basis for your remembering essay. Yet, we should note that the person you choose should not necessarily be someone who played a crucial role in your life.

❓ What to Talk about?

You have to explain why you cherish the person you are talking about. We have already mentioned that several anecdotes involving them can serve as a basis for remembering a person essay.

Get an originally-written paper according to your instructions!

One of the primary keys to an effective paper is a detailed description. Ideally, you should provide as many details as you can (however, not too many) so that a teacher can vividly imagine the person after reading your remembering a person essay.

Reading about an essay on memories can be helpful for this part.

📋 Remembering Essay Organization

How to organize the ideas effectively? You may find plenty of advice. But how about not wasting time on selecting the best strategy? Just take a look at ours and use one of them for your essay.

  • Chronological Order. It is the most common and effective way of narrating a story. Recall the events step by step. After your story’s climax, explain why the event is so remarkable for you and what lesson you get from it.
  • Unfulfilled Expectations. If you experienced an event with an unexpected outcome, consider applying this strategy. Start by telling the reader what did you expect from the situation. Then, describe what happened in reality. Finally, make parallels between the expectations and reality and explain how the mismatch of the outcomes affected you.
  • Metaphors. This strategy is for creative people who are willing to make their remembering essay outstanding. If you have several memories (from childhood or recent events), connect them all and associate them with one symbol. Make sure that the most important event is the last one in your story. In your conclusion, reveal the secret. Tell the reader why did you associate your memories with that same symbol.
  • Framing. It is kind of “a story in a story” strategy that will keep your reader intrigued till the very end. Start your remembering essay by telling one story that would lead to a flashback and another story. Not finishing the first one, introduce the second. Then, complete your initial story and explain how these two events are related. Don’t forget to highlight their impact on you.

My brother and I were so excited because we planned to coax mom to give the new car to my brother, as she has already had a car and she refused to give hers to my brother. The next day we spoke to my father and he agreed to talk to mom and allowed my brother to have that shining blue car. My brother, my younger sister and I managed to be the most obedient children in the world, we did everything that my mom said, we called her twice or thrice per day to know how she is, we kept pampering her for two and half weeks and finally, in the beginning of September she decided to give him the car but with a condition that he must be home before 12pm. Our life was getting more and more interesting. Each second was fabulous, he taught me how to drive a car, obviously I was a great L (I call it Loser). Everyday he dropped us at school and fetched us after his class, we were somehow boasting to our relatives whenever they saw us with the car, I bragged about him in my class, some of my girlfriends fell in love with him and wanted me to introduce my brother to them. I thought to myself "How money can bring people to you?" I was disgusted to see more girls around me, bugging me for a lift. I didn't need someone to nudge me, to realize that this car has brought friends close but enemies closer. On October 10th, my family and I visited my grandmother for two weeks. She was very happy to see us. She pampered us whenever we visited her. She is very special to us and we love her so much. Her house in the village is one of the biggest; it has a green and flourishing garden, where we spent our spare time with our neighbor's children. One great thing in my grandmother's house is: we all spoke our dialect and for us it's an opportunity to master it. When she heard that my brother has a car, she complained to my mother and asked her to hire him a driver instead. The days ended soon, and we are back to our same routine back in city. Once back to the city, we immediately went back to bed because of the exhausting trip. After few weeks my family and I were planning to celebrate Christmas. We finally ended up celebrating it in our house with the family. I went with my mom to buy some provisions; my dad and my brother went to buy the Christmas tree. That night we decorated the tree as well as the house. On the Christmas day, we had many people, we could barely step through the crowd, and my mother was busy with her siblings. My brother, sister and I were glad to meet our cousins but we were more than glad to have them gone, because we couldn't wait to discover what Santa Clause had brought for us, since mother refused to let us open the gifts early that morning. After seven days, we celebrated the New Year by wishing everyone a blissful year ahead. The following day my brother and I became very close until being his best friend. He introduced me to his girlfriend and I was glad that he did. The next day, 25th of January, a close friend of mom came to visit her, and she dined at home. When she was about to leave, my mom asked my brother to drop her at the nearby taxi stand. He accepted and asked me to accompany him. I entered my room but something pushed me to stay, I was indecisive; as I wore my shoes and took them off, he scolded me because I was taking such a long time, the same day our country was playing a football match versus another African country, the roads were deserted, everybody was watching it, finally I told him, that I am not going. Since my brother left that day around 4pm, he never came back. The night was cold and calm; everyone was at home except him. Suddenly my dad's phone rang, he rushed to my mom's door and whispered. They rushed out, unfortunately all the car were not working, I asked my father 'What is happening?' he told me 'Your brother had an accident.' I felt a chill and everything went black around me. I was fighting back tears and I replied to him 'Hope he didn't get hurt' he said 'He is fine and we are going to find out what had happened'. Without wasting a minute, I prayed to God for him: to protect him and make sure that he was fine. Unmoving, I waited my parents return, they got back around 10pm looking anxious, you could read the end of the world on their face, then my father came to me and held me tightly, he told me to be strong, 'Your brother has left us'. My feeling at that moment was beyond description, I heard screams coming from outside the gate, I thought to myself that it cannot be true, we spoke only a few hours ago and now he is gone, mourners were crying everywhere around the house, our neighbors came, my mom, my poor mom could barely stand, I looked at her and started crying, 'Oh God! Why did he leave us so young?' it kept on running in my mind. He was the only son, my only brother, my life was over. That night was the worst night ever. I was sitting on the table, watching people crying, crawling and rolling on the floor, I couldn't feel anything, I was like a frame on the wall. My five senses just stopped working, and everything was black. I was present but my thoughts were not. I was breathing but my heart was not controlling the process, only God knows how I felt that night. The next day, I went to my younger sister as my elder sister was on her way coming back from Belgium. I cuddled her so tightly and I told her that everything would be fine. Our house was crowded but for me it was empty because I couldn't hear the gentle voice of my brother. My brother was the tallest in the family, he was good looking, kind and admired by everyone. When my elder sister came, the atmosphere got worse than before. She didn't see him since he was 10 years old. We were waiting for my sister and aunt to come from Europe to fix the burial day. His friends, classmates and even people who were unknown by the family came to pay respect. His girlfriend and parents also came over to extend their sympathies but she couldn't come to the burial ceremony because she was not strong enough to attend it. Many people read out the message that they have written to my brother on that day, one of his friends said 'The days when I was desperate, you held me up, I had no money you bought me food, I had nowhere to go you took me to your house. Thank you, you will always remain as my brother. I love you.' We prayed for him in the church, the father gave him his last blessing, and buried him, I felt like half of me was gone, people couldn't believe what had happened .They were shocked and the same goes to my family and I. My grandmother was holding my mom on the way back home, everyone could express their feelings but for mom and dad this sad tragedy was a nightmare, they would have like it to be a true nightmare, so that they could wake up and live the normal and complete life we once had. What is the point of this new car? It came to facilitate our life or to take a part of us? What if I had stopped him from going? Would God have let him alive? I wish there was a reverse button to live a life over again. Written by : Fazi Gissile from Guinea Conakary HOPE IT HELPS YOU

Unforgettable Event It was a sunny evening, I felt so sleepy at that moment but there is curriculum class. I decided to take a short nap before attending the class. But unfortunately, I did not awake by the alarm that I had set. When I was wake up, it is already 2. 20 pm. There was only left 10 minutes for me to prepare all the things and rush to volley ball's field. I Just quickly wash my face and simply pick a shirt in my cupboard. Luckily, I still manage to be at volley ball's court on time.

Before starting the practice, the lecture gave us some brief about the technique of playing volley ball. He taught us how to pass, set and serve the ball. After the briefing, we start o

ur practice while our lecture was standing beside with a whistle observe us. Most of us blame about the hot weather but as the practice going on, slowly we started to enjoy the game. We decided to have a competition among our self and the lecture will be the referee to Judge our match. We had choosing 5 people for each team and I was chosen as one of them.

I was so excited as it is my first time having valley ball competition. After waiting for half an hour, it is my turn to play. I and my team members were ready steadily in the court waiting to beat down the opponent. But the luck seems like did not stand on our side, in 20 minutes time, our team had lose 5 marks that is 19-14. I felt a bit nervou

as the game will end soon. After 5 more minutes, we managed to catch up the opponent with the same score, 24-24. Finally, it was match point for the game.

At that moment, all of the supporters were watching the game Tuttle and I did feel the nervous and critical situation. Fortunately, I was given a chance by my team member to give a spike to the opponent. I Jumped as high as possible and gave a critical hit for the last mark! Suddenly, a 'Bismarck sound was breaking up the silent situation. Yeah, I was successful to contribute for the match point but I did not hear any clap for me, what I heard is only laughing from my friends. I Just realized that my pant was broken!

I can felt that my face was reddening and I closed the broken part with my hands. This action makes my friends felt funnier and I could hear more and more laugher. Some of my friends even tried to take off my hand and started Joking on me. I was so embarrassed as there were also some girls at the volley ball's court. As my hand was closing the broken part of the pant, I could not walk normally, I walked like a duck toward the lecture to ask for the permission for going back the hostel to change a new pant. I found that the lecture was also laughed at me and asked me to change a new pant.

Without wasting any time, I ran like a furious duck toward the hostel. After changing a new pant, I was so shy to go down the

volley ball's court for listening on their laughing. I decided for not to going down and sleep on the bed. Even though this embarrassed event had pass for a few months, but I still heard some of my classmate talk about it. After this unforgettable incident, I will check my pant carefully before wearing it. It was really an unforgettable event and I think I will remember it for the rest of my life. By examiner

Essay About an Unforgettable Event

Chichén Itzá is a large Mayan city famous for a large, pyramid temple built by the Maya civilization. It is located on the Yucatan Peninsula to the east of Merida. The most recognizable structure in Chichén Itzá is the Temple of Kukulkan, also known as El Castillo. The temple has 365 steps, one for each day of the year. Each of the temple’s four sides has 91 steps, and the top platform makes the 365th. Twice a year on the spring and autumn equinoxes, a shadow falls on the pyramid in the shape of a serpent. As the sun sets, this snake descends the steps to eventually join a stone serpent head at the base of the great staircase up the pyramid’s side.

The Mayan’s astronomical skills were so advanced they could even predict solar eclipses, and an impressive and sophisticated observatory structure remains on the site today. Chichén Itzá is named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Visiting Chichén Itzá is a trip to the past. To be there we reflect on how the Maya lived so wisely and mystically in all their surroundings, that the sciences, religion and daily life mixed perfectly.

Without paying upfront

Observing the Temple of Kukulkan is breathtaking, but what gets more impressive is listening to the story behind it that the tour guides tell. I liked how they explained everything so precisely that you can picture it perfectly. At the end of the explanation, the tour guides also provide us with many interesting conspiracy theories about the fall of the Mayan culture. Since 2007 it is not allowed to climb the steps of the pyramids due to the deterioration it has had. An impressive effect is the echo that is reflected in the upper part of the castle, when several tourists simultaneously applaud in the lower part at the same time, it is indescribable the sensation that you feel when you hear the characteristic sound of a bird in the area and the echo it creates.

The weather in Chichen Itzá depends on the season. I visited Chichen Itzá as part of my trip to Cancun in July of 2018. The weather was hot but there’re plenty of trees and shade around the site, it is also recommendable to wear sun screen and carry an umbrella or a hat. We were also told to carry a raincoat because rain can come at random, which it did in the afternoon. After visiting Chichen Itzá, the tour includes a visit to a nearby village called Valladolid. In Valladolid we got to enjoy delicious Mexican dishes like cochinita pibil and lime soup. We also got to visit a cenote until out of nowhere it started raining.

Visiting Chichen Itzá is a great experience because we get to lean about a different culture and see the incredible pyramids and temples the Mayans built. Although it is a great learning experience, I wouldn’t recommend little children attending due to the hot weather and long walks. A good recommendation is to arrive early to get a good view, because at it gets late it starts to get really crowded with a lot of tourists and the weather is not very hot. Teenagers and adults would most likely benefit from this experience. It is advisable to visit Chichén Itzá with a tour guide because of the great amount of information and history the place has and to make the visit more enjoyable. Along the site, you can encounter a great number of souvenirs sellers which are great if you want to take a reminder of that experience to your friends and family and for yourself.

When arriving at the complex the most impressive thing is the great Pyramid of Kukulkan, a wonder of the world. The faces on the pyramid are perfectly oriented to each cardinal point. The Mayans were undoubtedly a very intelligent civilization; the things they knew at that time were surprising. How they used astronomy and mathematics so efficiently, is amazing to observe. My visit to Chichen Itzá was fascinating. The tour guide’s timing was perfect so that we could get to enjoy the different places we visited. It was an unforgettable day and it was wonderful to learn about the history of this wonderful civilization.

At USC, she received the Haynes Lindley Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship for 2022-2023 and the Annenberg Graduate School Fellowship for 2023-2024.

Prior to beginning her doctoral work at Annenberg, Robertson completed a master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Cambridge, where her thesis also related to the Olympics: “Contesting the media event: Alternative media at the Rio 2016 Olympics.” She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies from Harvard University.

Robertson focuses on how power is formed, networked, wielded, and challenged in contests over cities’ futures. She researches spectacular urban development projects and sports mega-events, as well as everyday struggles for survival and dignity.

Her work has appeared in academic journals such as International Journal of Communication, Journal of Urban Technology, Interface, and Communication & Sport. She has been invited to write book chapters that have been published in Oxford University Press and Routledge.

She has worked in the United States, South Africa, Botswana, Germany, and Brazil. Sensible Ways to Fight Terrorism

To the Editor:

Re “ The West Still Hasn’t Figured Out How to Beat ISIS ,” by Christopher P. Costa and Colin P. Clarke (Opinion guest essay, April 1):

Two clear lessons have emerged in the decade since ISIS exploded on the world scene. First, as the authors note, pulling all U.S. troops and intelligence assets from fragile conflict zones is a boon to globalized terror movements. Despite political promises, the full U.S. withdrawal from Iraq in 2011 and Afghanistan in 2021 did not “end” those wars; it transformed them into more complex and potentially more deadly challenges.

Second, we must reckon with the underlying grievances that make violent anti-Western ideologies, including militant jihadism, attractive to so many in the first place. These include the ill effects of globalization, and a “rules-based” world order increasingly insensitive to the needs of developing countries and regions.

Simply maintaining a military or intelligence presence in terror hot spots does nothing to reduce the sticky recruiting power of militant movements. Unless the United States and its allies and partners begin offering tangible policies that counter jihadi ideology and propaganda, we will just continue attacking the symptoms, not the causes.

Stuart Gottlieb New York The writer teaches American foreign policy and international security at Columbia University.

The Islamic State’s territorial caliphate in Iraq and Syria may have been eliminated years ago, but as Christopher P. Costa and Colin P. Clarke write, the terrorist group itself is very much in business. ISIS-K, its branch in Afghanistan, has conducted two large-scale external attacks over the last two months — one in Iran that killed more than 80 people and another near Moscow that took the lives of more than 130.

If the United States and its allies haven’t found a way to defeat ISIS-K in its entirety, it’s because terrorism itself is an enemy that can’t be defeated in the traditional sense of the term. This is why the war on terror framework, initiated under the George W. Bush administration immediately after the 9/11 attacks, was such poor terminology. Terrorism is going to be with us for as long as humanity exists.

Viewed this way, terrorism is a conflict management problem, not one that can be solved. While this may sound defeatist to many, it’s also the coldhearted truth. Assuming otherwise risks enacting policies, like invading whole countries (Iraq and Afghanistan), that are likely to create even more anti-U.S. terrorism than we started with.

Of course, all countries should remain vigilant. Terrorism will continue to be a part of the threat environment. The U.S. intelligence community must ensure that its counterterrorism infrastructure is well resourced and continues to focus on areas, like Afghanistan, where the U.S. no longer has a troop presence. But for the U.S., a big part of the solution is keeping our ambitions realistic and prioritizing among terrorist threats lest the system gets overloaded or pulled in too many directions at once.

While all terrorism is tragic, not all terrorist groups are created equal. Local and even regional groups with local objectives aren’t as important to the U.S. as groups that have transnational aims and the capabilities to strike U.S. targets. This, combined with keeping a cool head instead of trafficking in threat inflation, is key to a successful response.

Daniel R. DePetris New Rochelle, N.Y. The writer is a fellow at Defense Priorities, a foreign policy think tank in Washington.

Kennedy Jr.’s concern about the Biden administration’s “censorship” of misinformation might be viewed as legitimate if the American public demonstrated more responsibility about fact-checking what they see and hear on social media and other information platforms masquerading as legitimate sources of news.

Sadly, many in this country, and indeed the world, have abdicated responsibility for being factually informed about current events. As long as bad actors have unfettered access to social media platforms, it will be necessary to “censor” the misinformation they claim as fact. The world has become the proverbial crowded theater where one cannot yell “fire.”

Re “ The Great Struggle for Liberalism ,” by David Brooks (column, March 29):

In face of growing populism at home and abroad, Mr. Brooks issues a cri de coeur on behalf of liberal democracy and democratic capitalism, which provide the means to a “richer, fuller and more dynamic life.”

His impassioned plea for “we the people” of these United States to experience a sense of common purpose, to build a society in which culture is celebrated and families thrive, is made despite existential challenges to American liberalism:

1) We do not share an overarching belief in who we are as a people, as a nation.

2) Trust in our three branches of government, in checks and balances, is broken amid warring partisanship.

3) There is, for many, as Mr. Brooks notes, an “absence of meaning, belonging and recognition” that drives a tilt to authoritarianism in search of the restoration of “cultural, moral and civic stability” by any means necessary.

The ballot box in a free and open society allows for choice, and there are those who, in exercising their right to vote, would choose to cancel the aspirational hopes of the preamble to our Constitution.

David Brooks sees the full measure of the choices facing America and the world in 2024. Do we?

Re “ New Ways to Bring Wealth to Nations ,” by Patricia Cohen (news analysis, Business, April 4):

Ms. Cohen is right to argue that the service sector will be the key to economic growth in the future. However, it’s essential to consider what service jobs are — and who will be doing them.

Of course, the service industry includes office workers in tech hubs like Bengaluru, as highlighted by Ms. Cohen. Currently, these jobs are held predominantly by men, so to spur inclusive growth, employers and governments must make sure women have equal access.

But the service sector also includes hundreds of millions of people — mostly women — who are teachers and who care for children, older people and those with disabilities and illnesses. To seize the opportunity ahead, governments must position care jobs as careers of the future for women and men, alongside tech jobs. This requires making sure these positions provide good pay and working conditions.

If the goal is sustainable growth, the best approach leverages the critical care sector to generate income in the short run and prepare healthy, well-educated young people, which maintains progress in the long run.

NVC in the Path of Totality of the Total Solar Eclipse

April 2, 2024

Garden of Telescopes, Scientists, Students, Entertainment, and Music

SAN ANTONIO, TX  (April 2, 2024) – Northwest Vista College (NVC) and the Alamo Colleges District will host an unforgettable celestial event of the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8 from 11 am to 3 pm. The event, which is sponsored by Boeing, includes a garden of telescopes, scientists, college professors, college students, elementary and middle schools, food trucks, music, other entertainment, and the Scobee Education Center and Planetarium.

“We are delighted to host the San Antonio community and visitors to Northwest Vista College for this once-in-a-lifetime total solar eclipse viewing opportunity, and our faculty and scientists are thrilled to share their knowledge of this scientific experience with students and the public,” said Northwest Vista College President Dr. Amy Bosley.

This free event will be held in Parking Lot No. 6, overlooking the picturesque Cedar Elm STEM Center, Northwest Vista College’s newest building. College professors and scientists from both Northwest Visa College and the Scobee Education Center and Planetarium at San Antonio College, will provide expert information and guide the solar viewing for the community. The Scobee Education Center will provide 10,000 approved solar glasses. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and hats.

This is the first time in over 600 years that San Antonio residents will experience a total solar eclipse. According to NASA, the path of totality – where viewers can see the Moon block the Sun, revealing the star’s outer atmosphere, called the corona – is much wider with this year’s solar eclipse than it was during the eclipse in 2017. The next total solar eclipse viewable in the contiguous United States will be on Aug. 23, 2044.
