The search box Enter one or more words. You will be able to continue narrowing your search in the discovery tool EDS, where the majority of the library information resources can be found.

Filters in the search box

Articles: Articles from scholarly journals. Using the peer-review facet in the left menu you will limit to articles reviewed by experts in the field.

E-books and printed books: Online books in full text as well as print books. Please note that theses are not found using this filter.

Printed books: Make a request if the book is currently on loan or if you want to collect it at a different branch library.

E-journals: Enter words from the title of the journal to get to the list of e-journals .

Databases : Enter words from the database title or subject area to get to the list of List of databases . Use English terms. Databases often cover large areas and the search terms therefore need to be broad, for example Physics.

Chalmers Publications : In research.chalmers.se you will find information regarding research at Chalmers, projects, researchers and publications.

Student Theses : Theses by Chalmers students is found at Chalmers Open Digital Repository - Student Theses .

BSc and MSc theses from Chalmers are available in  Chalmers ODR Student Theses . From 2010 the coverage is good and the full text is often available. You can loan older theses from the library and you may find them by searching the   Main Search Box .  If a thesis you are looking for is not available at the library or in Chalmers ODR Student Theses, contact the respective department at Chalmers.

E-publication and printing.

There is still a lot you need to think about after you have finished your degree project. Here, you will find everything you need to know about rules for e-publication and how to order printing if needed.

Degree projects published electronically are freely available and searchable

Degree projects are registered and published in the Chalmers ODR Student Theses service. As an author, you can decline electronic publication, but registration (searchable post without full text) is mandatory. For electronic publication of the full text, all the authors must have approved the publication contract on the work card by means of their signatures.

Both registration and e-publication are carried out by staff at the department. The degree project must be presented in accordance with specified templates and delivered in PDF format. 

Chalmers’ libraries do not accept printed degree projects, with the exception of the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library, which does accept printed copies from the architecture programmes.

If your degree project will be printed, your department will order the printing. If you order printing, you must submit a request with the camera-ready copy (print-ready files). The request must be signed by the Head of Department or equivalent, including their email address, the name of your supervisor(s), the title of the report/degree project and the author(s) (including their extension number and email). The request must also state the paying department or equivalent, the cost centre, reference code, project number, and the activity number if applicable. Submit the request with the camera-ready copy (print-ready files).

Please note that images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Black-and-white images must be in grey scale. RGB is for images displayed on screen, not for printing.

Deliver as a PDF

If your work will be printed, it must be presented according to specified templates (see the design of degree projects) and delivered as a PDF file.

• Bild saknas Post Fault Impedance Characterization for High Voltage Applications in Power Systems ( 2024 ) Swaminathan, Rangarajan ; Chalmers tekniska högskola / Institutionen för elektroteknik ; Le, Ahn Tuan ; Wang, Jianping ; Tajdinian, Mohsen Visa mer Abstract The thesis investigates the effects of the characteristics of high impedance faults on the performance of line distance protection. Two typical models are implemented.The verification of those models is done both with conventional sources and with a renewable source of Type-3 and Type-4 wind turbines. The results are compared with the standard PSCAD fault block model available in the software library. When modeling the conventional source and considering the time-varying characteristic of high-impedance fault, the difference is mainly observed in the fault detection time and the final impedance calculation by the relay. This is due to the time-variant and asymmetric nature of high Impedance Faults. The impact is that the fault detection time for high impedance faults is higher, e.g., 70 ms compared to the standard PSCAD fault block cases with a constant fault resistance whose fault detection time is 30 ms. Also, a simple compensation block for correcting the resistance is implemented and analysis is done. The renewable source study is done to understand why traditional fault calculation techniques cannot be applied due to the system behavior during the fault scenario. The time-variant behavior of high-impedance faults has been found to affect the fault detection time. The asymmetric behavior affects the final impedance calculated by the relay which could lead to the relay not detecting the fault. Visa mer
