Could you play a vital role in improving outcomes and the life chances of children and young people with SEND?

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes and the life chances of children and young people with SEND.

At Herts for Learning, we believe that every young person, through access to a great education, should be able to realise their potential, regardless of where they live, their background or circumstances.

If you believe in the capacity of all learners to achieve great outcomes and you want to make a positive contribution to the quality of SEN provision in mainstream schools, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking a candidate whose current post may be within a school, a trust, a teaching hub, a local authority, or an organisation providing services to educational settings, with experience of delivering impactful professional development activities within your own school and beyond.

As a current or more recently experience Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) with outstanding classroom practice and success as a senior leader, you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to enable you to support, monitor and challenge mainstream schools and school leaders across all phases. You will have high quality written and oral communication skills and work well as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills combined with a high level of problem-solving and creative thinking skills are essential prerequisites for the role.

You will be able to organise and prioritise your own workload, be flexible and prepared to travel to trusts and schools as needed throughout Hertfordshire. The ability to reach different locations by car will be essential for this role. If you drive, then a full driving licence and appropriate car insurance will be required

As the UK’s largest School Company, we operate as a social enterprise on a not-for-profit basis and we are a leading provider of school improvement and business support services, training and resources, that enable schools, settings and trusts to deliver a great education.  You can find out more about us here.

Benefits: We offer a competitive salary, a generous employer pension contribution, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 31 days after five-years) or the equivalent paid for Term Time employees, company performance bonus, benefits schemes for discounts and cashback offers, professional development opportunities, family-friendly policies, and hybrid working.
