Why EducationUSA?

Proud to be ‘Your official source on U.S. Higher Education’- we at EducationUSA supports students across the world with accurate, current and comprehensive information about the opportunities to study in the United States. Through the ‘Your 5 Steps to the U.S. Study’ model, we help you with information about Research Your Options, Finance Your Studies, Complete Your Application, Apply for Your Student Visa and Prepare for Your Departure.

Due to lack of authentic and comprehensive information about the admission, funding and career progression scope, students and parents often get misled. Hence, as the official source on U.S. Higher Education, EducationUSA provides free admission and scholarship information as well as application preparation sessions.

How do we do it?

Supported by the U.S. Embassy – Bangladesh, EducationUSA center at EMK Center provides a variety of services, including individual and group admission advising, higher education research, standardized testing preparation, libraries, and related capacity-building programs for youth and professionals across Bangladesh.

EducationUSA Facilities:

  • Group Advising on U.S. University Applications: We assist students in finding universities and scholarships that are suitable for their requirements through different group advising sessions in our weekly sessions.
  • Scholarship Info: We post most updated scholarship information and links regularly, which we receive directly from the top US College/University.
  • Visa Info Session: Through EducationUSA Bangladesh’s Facebook page, we provide F1 Student Visa Information. Visit here for the recorded live, where a Consular Officer from the U.S. Embassy Dhaka talks about U.S. student visa application process and the different steps involved.
  • Individual Advising by Appointments: The EducationUSA Advisers work as a personal mentor; and students can talk about any issues related to higher education in the United States to get accurate, current, and comprehensive information and guidelines – upon attending any EducationUSA event.
  • Outreach Activities: We conduct virtual and physical sessions on application/admission process to High School, College and Universities; programs such as Olympiads, Fairs in order to bridge the information gap.
  • EducationUSA Library: EduUSA has a comprehensive library of resources about preparing for study in the USA; including various Testing systems, University and Scholarship Search, Writing Admission Essay, College Major (including Medical & MBA), PhD preparation and more.
  • Advising Appointmen: To book an appointment with us at the EducationUSA, one must attend atleast two group advising sessions and be a member of the center.

Early intervention and special education services for children

Learn how to get your child evaluated for early intervention and special education services to help with their development and learning.

Early intervention services

Early intervention programs can provide support and services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. These services will depend on the needs of your child. They can include speech therapy, physical therapy, and more. Every U.S. state and territory offers early intervention services.

  • For children from birth to 3 years old - contact your state’s early intervention service for information on how to receive services.
  • For children 3 years or older - contact your local elementary school or school district to request an evaluation. Your child can be evaluated even if they do not attend public school.

Special education services

Special education services are designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities. When students qualify for special education, they receive an Individualized Education Program (IEP). The IEP plans out instruction and resources to best support each child. These resources are available at no cost to families.

  • Learn more about the process of having your child’s needs identified, and special education services put in place.
  • If you have concerns about your child’s development, you can request an evaluation through your local school district. Your child can be evaluated even if they do not attend public school.

Where else to get help

  • You may be able to find additional educational support services in your state through Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs). They provide information and services for children and young adults from birth to ages 26 and their families. Find a Parent Center in your state.
  • If you have concerns that your child is not receiving the special education services they need, learn about communicating with your state education department and filing a complaint if necessary .
