कुत्रा हा एक पाळीव प्राणी आहे. त्यातल्या त्यात कुत्रा आहे खरच खूपच लोकप्रिय प्राणी आहेत. भारतामध्ये बहुतांश घरांमध्ये कुत्रा हा प्राणी सांभाळला जातो.

कुत्रा माणसाची खूप मदत करतो. तसेच कुत्र्याला एक निष्ठा आणि इमानदार प्राणी म्हणून देखील ओळखले जाते. एक प्रकार एक कुत्र्याला माणसाचा खरा मित्र मानला जातो.

प्राचीन काळापासूनच कुत्रा हा प्राणी माणसाच्या सहवासामध्ये राहात आलेला आहे कुत्र्याला माणसाच्या साने त्यात राहायला खूप आवडते असे मानले जाते. वैदिक वाड्:मयांमध्ये देखील कुत्र्याचा उल्लेख आढळलेला दिसतो.

काहीही असो परंतु कुत्रा हा आपला माणूस यासाठी एक इमानदार प्राणी आहे व तो वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारे आपल्याला मनुष्याचे मदत देखील करतो.

कुत्रा प्राण्याची शरीररचना :

साधारण त्या सर्वांच्या परिचयाचा एकमेव प्राणी म्हणजे कुत्रा प्राणी होय. साधारणता माणसाच्या सहवासामध्ये व मनुष्य वस्ती मध्ये कुत्रा हा प्राणी पहायला मिळतात. कुत्र्याला दोन डोळे, दोन मोठे आणि तीक्ष्ण कान व एक शेपूट असते.

कुत्र्याचे आयुष्य साधारणता दहा ते चौदा वर्षाचे असते. कुत्र्याची वास घेण्याचे आणि कोणतीही गोष्ट अतिशय तीक्ष्ण स्वरूपाने ऐकणे क्षमता खूप असते. कुत्र्याला चार पाय असतात पुढील दोन पायांना पाच आणि मागील दोन पायांना चार नख्या असतात.

कुत्र्याचे कान इतके ती कशा असतात की 24 मीटरच्या अंतरावर झालेल्या हालचाली सुद्धा त्याला ऐकायला येतात. तसेच कुत्र्याची नजर देखील खूप तीक्ष्ण असते रात्रीच्या काळाकुट्ट अंधारामध्ये देखील त्याला सर्व वस्तू स्पष्टपणे दिसतात. पण कुत्र्याचे रंग ओळखण्याची क्षमता थोडी कमी असते.

एकदा पाहिलेला माणसाला कुत्रा पुन्हा कधीही विसरत नाही. तसेच वास घेऊन एखाद्या माणसाचे पारख करतो. कुत्रा पाण्यामध्ये देखील चांगल्या प्रकारे पोहू शकतो. कुत्र्याचा पळण्याचा ताशी वेग हा एकोणीस किलोमीटर एवढा आहे.

कुत्र्याचा उपयोग :

साधारणता कुत्र्या हा पाणी पाळीव प्राणी म्हणून सांभाळला जातो. कुत्रा एक निष्ठा आणि इमानदार प्राणी असल्याने पत्र्याचा वापर घरात राखण्यासाठी, संरक्षणासाठी, शिकार करण्यासाठी तसेच गुन्हेगार व करण्यासाठी केला जातो.

तसेच काही प्रशिक्षित कुत्रे आंधळा व्यक्तींना, आजारी व्यक्तींना मदत करण्यासाठी सांभाळले जातात. हाऊंड जातीचे कुत्रे अनेक अंतरावरील वासाने शिकारा चा शोध घेतात. तर बर्फाळ भागामधील काही कूत्रांचा वापर स्लेज गाडी ओढण्यासाठी केला जातो.

कुत्र्यांच्या विविध प्रजाती :

संपूर्ण जगामध्ये कुत्र्याच्या खूप प्रजाति आहेत. साधारणता 400 पेक्षा अधिक प्रजातींचे कुत्रे जगभरामध्ये पहायला मिळतात. ग्रेहाऊंड, जर्मन शेफर्ड, अल्सेयिन, पेमेरियन इत्यादी काही प्रसिद्ध अशा कुत्र्याच्या मुख्यता पाळीव कुत्र्यांच्या प्रजाती आहेत.

माझा टायगर दिसायला जितका सुंदर आणि आकर्षित आहे तितकाच तो घातक सुद्धा आहे. रात्रीच्या वेळी किंवा दिवसा आमच्या घराकडे कोणी अनोळखी व्यक्ती दिसताच टायगर मोठ्या आवाजात भोकात या व्यक्तीच्या अंगावर जातो. त्यामुळे एखादा अनोळखी व्यक्ती आमच्या घराकडे येण्यासाठी खूप घाबरतो. कारण माझ्या टायगरला बघून खूप जण घाबरतात.

माझा कुत्रा टायगर हा दोन महिन्यांचा होता तेव्हापासून मी त्याला सांभाळत आहे. आज माझा टायगर हा पाच वर्षाचा एक तरुण कुत्रा झाला आहे. लहानपणापासूनच मला कुत्रे खूप आवडत होती, त्यामुळे मी गावातील लहान लहान कुत्र्याच्या पिल्ल्या ला घरी घेऊन यायचो. परंतु गावातील कुत्र्यांची पिल्ले थोडावेळ माझ्यासोबत खेळ नंतर परत त्यांच्या आई कडे जायची.

मी जे सांगेल तो माझा टायगर ऐकतो थोडक्यात माझ्या सर्व आज्ञांचे पालन माझ्या टायगर करतो.

मी टायगर ला बसायला सांगितले की तो बसतो, उठायला सांगीतले की उठतो. टायगर ला जर मी “गो” म्हणून इशारा केला की तो धावतो. माझ्यातील आणि टायगर मधील संबंध इतके घट्ट झाले की मी दुरून देखील टायगर ला आवाज दिला की तो लगेच इकडे तिकडे करत मला शोधतो. मी कुठल्याही कारणामुळे घराबाहेर पडलो किंवा शाळेला चाल्लो की टायगर माझ्या सोबतच येतो.

टायगर रात्रभर जागे राहून माझ्या घराचे रक्षण करतो. टायगर खूप हुशार आहे त्याचे काल नेहमी उभे असतात आजूबाजूला जरा ही कोणाची चाहूल लागताच टायगर भुंकण्यास सुरुवात करतो.

माझा टायगर हा शाकाहारी आहे लहानपणापासून मी त्याला मांसाहारी अन्न खायला दिले नाही त्यामुळे तो माणसांप्रमाणे शाकाहारीच जेवण करतो. टायगर हा आमच्या घरातील एक खंबीर सदस्य आहे. कारण तो रात्रभर जागून आमच्या घराचे रक्षण करतो. पण अनोळखी व्यक्ती चोर -भराटे यांना आमच्या घराच्या आजूबाजूला देखील यायला देत नाही. टायगर असल्यामुळे आम्ही कशाचीही चिंता न करता घरात निवांत झोपतो.

असा हा माझा आवडता प्राणी कुत्रा म्हणजेच माझा टायगर मला खूप खूप आवडतो.

• कुत्रा हा पाळीव प्राण्यांपैकी सर्वात लोकप्रिय प्राणी आहे. विविध प्रकारे तो माणसांची मदत करतो त्यामुळे माणसांचा खरा मित्र म्हणून प्रसिद्ध आहे.
• कुत्रा हा इमानदार प्राणी आहे ज्याचा उपयोग घराची राखण करण्यासाठी, संरक्षणासाठी, शिकार करण्यासाठी तसेच गुन्ह्याच्या तपासणीमध्येही करतात. याशिवाय काही कुत्रे आंधळ्या व्यक्तींना, आजारी व्यक्तींना मदत करण्यासाठी प्रशिक्षित असतात.
• जगभरात कुत्र्यांच्या सुमारे ४०० हून अधिक जाती आहेत. ग्रेहाउंड, जर्मन शेपर्ड, डॉबरमॅन, बुलडॉग, लॅब्रेडोर, अल्सेशियन, बुलटेरिअर, पोमेरेनियन, रिट्रिव्हर या काही प्रसिद्ध पाळीव कुत्र्यांच्या जाती आहेत.

• कुत्र्याला उत्तम पोहता येते परंतु तो झाडावर चढू शकत नाही. कुत्र्यांचा पळण्याचा सरासरी वेग ताशी एकोणीस मैल आहे
• कुत्रे सतत जीभ बाहेर ठेवतात व जिभेवरील लाळेच्या बाष्पीभवनामुळे त्यांच्या शरीराचे तापमान नियंत्रित ठेवण्यास त्यांना मदत होते.

• कुत्र्यांना पुढील पायाला पाच आणि मागील पायाला चार नखे असतात. परंतु काही कुत्र्यांना यापेक्षा जास्त असू शकतात. ज्या कुत्र्यांना जास्त नखे असतात ते जास्त चतुर समजले जातात.
• कुत्रे त्यांच्या क्षेत्राबाबत खूप संवेदनशील असतात व तिथे अनोळखी व्यक्ती किंवा इतर कुत्र्यांचा प्रवेश त्यांना सहन होत नाही आणि हि बाब ते गुरगुरणे, भुंकणे, अंगावर धावून जाणे या प्रकारे व्यक्त करतात.
• काही कुत्रे पूर्णतः मांसाहारी असतात तर काही कुत्रे शाकाहारी खाद्य सुद्धा खातात. पूर्णतः मांसाहारी कुत्रे जास्त आक्रमक असतात.
• हाउंड जातीचे कुत्रे अनेक तासानंतर सुद्धा वासाने शिकारीचा माग काढू शकतात त्यामुळे हे कुत्रे शिकारीसाठी उत्तम सोबत आहेत. अल्सेशियन आणि डॉबरमॅन हे कुत्रे घराची राखण करण्यासाठी उपयोगी येतात. बर्फाळ प्रदेशात स्लेज गाडी ओढण्यासाठी सुद्धा कुत्र्यांचा उपयोग केला जातो.
• कुत्र्यांचे आयुष्यमान सुमारे १० ते १४ वर्षे असते.

मला कुत्रा हा प्राणी आवडण्याचे कारण म्हणजे कुत्रा हा एक प्रामाणिक प्राणी म्हणून ओळखले जाते आणि त्याच्यापेक्षा प्रामाणिक या जगामध्ये कोणीच नाही असे मानले तसेच कुत्रा हा प्राणी मनुष्याला अनेक क्षेत्रामध्ये मदत करतो तसेच घराची राखण करतो आणि आपल्या घरी कुत्रा असला कि आपल्याला तो आपल्या कुटुंबाचा एक भागच वाटू लागतो. कुत्र्याला चार पाय, दोन डोळे, दोन मोठे व तीक्ष्ण कान, एक तोंड व एक तीक्ष्ण नाक असते. तीक्ष्ण नाक आणि कान असल्यामुळेच कुत्र्याची वास घेण्याची आणि ऐकण्याची क्षमता अतिशय उत्तम असते.

त्याचबरोबर कुत्र्याला धार धार दात असतात आणि ते विषारी हि असतात तसेच कुत्र्यांना पुढील पायाला पाच तर मागील पायाला चार नखे असतात. पण काही कुत्र्यांना त्यापेक्षा जास्ती नखे असू शकतात आणि कुत्र्याची शरीर रचना असते. कुत्र्याला वास घेण्याची आणि ऐकण्याची क्षमता तीक्ष्ण असल्यामुळे कुत्र्याचा वापरा अनेक क्षेत्रामध्ये करतात जसे कि कुत्रा हा पाळीव प्राणी असून देखील त्याचा उपयोग गुन्ह्याचा तपास करण्यासाठी केला जातो म्हणजेच कुत्रा हा प्राणी पोलीस स्टेशन, विमान तळ किंवा देश्याच्या सीमेवर गुन्ह्याचा तपास घेण्यासाठी वापरले जातात.

तसेच कुत्रा हा प्राणी आपल्या वास घेण्याच्या जोरावर ड्रग्स, स्पोटके, काही विशिष्ट पदार्थ, पैसे किवा माणूस अगदी सहज पणे शोधून काढतात. काही कुत्र्यांचा वापर अभिनय करण्यासाठी हि करून घेतला जातो त्याचबरोबर कुत्र्याचा वापर मार्गदर्शन करण्यासाठी, बचाव कार्य करण्यासाठी, युध्द क्षेत्रामध्ये अश्या वेगवेगळ्या क्षेत्रामध्ये कुत्र्याचा वापर केला जातो आणि कुत्रा हा असा प्राणी आहे जो कोणत्याही क्षेत्रामध्ये असो तो प्रामाणिक पणे आपले काम करतो आणि म्हणूनच मला कुत्रा हा प्राणी खूप आवडतो.

कुत्रा ह्या प्राण्याच्या वैशिष्ठ्या बद्दल सांगायचे म्हटले तर कुत्रा हा प्राणी एक तासाला १९ मैल अंतर पूर्ण करू शकतो त्यामुळे कुत्र्याला वेगवान प्राणी म्हणून देखील ओळखले जाते तसेच कुत्र्याला वास घेण्याची क्षमता उत्तम असते आणि कुत्रा हा प्राणी २४ मीटर अंतरावरील आवाज स्पष्टपणे ऐकू शकतो म्हणजेच त्याची ऐकण्याची क्षमता देखील चांगली असते.

कुत्रा ह्या प्राण्यापासून माणसाला शक्यतो धोका नसतो आणि कुत्रा प्राणी मानवाला कोणत्याही प्रकारची इजा करू शकत नाही आणि जर त्याने इजा केलीच तर ती आपला जीव वाचवण्यासाठी किंवा कोणत्यातरी माणसाने त्यांची कळ काढली तर किंवा त्यांना विनाकारण त्रास दिला तरच करतात.

कुत्रा ह्या प्राण्याच्या आहाराबद्दल सांगायचे म्हटले तर कुत्रा हा प्राणी सर्व प्रकारचे अन्न खातो जसे कि मांस, मासे, दुध व इतर कोणतेही पदार्थ जे सर्वसामान्य लोक खातात. काही कुत्रे पूर्णपणे मांसाहारी अन्न ग्रहण करणारे असतात व ते जास्त आक्रमक पण असतात आणि काही कुत्रे शाकाहारी अन्न हि ग्रहण करतात. सध्या घरगुती पाळीव कुत्र्यांना बाजारातून विकत आणलेले प्रोटीन युक्त आहार (उदाहरणार्थ : पेडिग्री) आपल्या कुत्र्यांना खाऊ घालतात.

प्रत्येक कुत्र्याच्या हालचालीचे काही गुणधर्म किंवा असतात म्हणजे जर कुत्रा जर कुत्रा भुंकत असेल तर तो आक्रमक असतो आणि जर तो शेपूट हलवत असेल तर तो मैत्रीपूर्ण असतो. तसेच कुत्रा जीभ बाहेर काढून ओठांवर फिरवत असेल तर तो एक तर दुखी असतो किवा आनंदी असतो आणि काही कुत्र्यांची शेपूट एकदम सरळ आणि कान पाठीमागे असतील आणि ते भुंकत असतील तर त्यांना दुसरी कुत्री किवा अनोळखी व्यक्ती त्यांच्या area मध्ये आलेली आवडत नाही.

अश्या प्रकारे कुत्रा हा आपल्या भावना वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारे व्यक्त करत असतो तसेच कुत्रा माणसांच्या भावना देखील समजावून घेण्यचा प्रयत्न करतात ते eye contact करून लोकांच्या भावना समजून घेवू शकतात. जगभरात ४०० हून अधिक जाती आहेत कुत्र्यांच्या आणि त्यामधील काही लोकप्रिय आहेत तर काही जाती नामशेष होत चालल्या आहेत. डॉबरमॅन, लॅब्रेडोर, जर्मन शेपर्ड, बुलडॉग, गोल्डन रिट्रीव्हर, पोमेरेनियन ह्या काही प्रसिध्द कुत्र्यांच्या जाती आहेत.

कुत्रा हा एक प्रामाणिक, एकनिष्ठ आणि प्रेमळ प्राणी आहे हे आपण छ त्रपती शिवाजी महाराज्यांच्या वाघ्या या कुत्र्यावरून देखील समजू शकतो कारण वाघ्या ह्या कुत्र्याने शिवाजी महाराजांचे निधन झाले तेव्हा वाघ्या ने शिवाजी महाराज्यांच्या चिते मध्ये उडी घेवून आपले हि आयुष्य शिवाजी महाराज्यान सोबत संपवले म्हणून या वाघ्याला स्वामिनिष्ठ कुत्रा म्हणून ओळखले जाते आणि म्हणून मला कुत्रा हा प्राणी खूप आवडतो आणि म्हणूनच आमच्या घरी देखील आम्हीहि एक कुत्रा बाळगला आहे तो आमच्या कुटुंबाचा भाग आहे आणि तो आमच्या घरातील सर्वांचा लाडका आणि आवडता आहे.

कुत्रा - माझा आवडता प्राणी

कुत्रा हा एक अत्यंत प्रेमळ प्राणी आहे. कुत्र्या इतका इमानदार कुठलाच प्राणी नाही. कुत्रा नेहमी आपल्या मालकाची रक्षा करतो तसेच कोणी अनओळखी माणूस आपल्या घरा जवल आला तर तो लगेच भुंकून इशारा देतो. म्हणूनच लोक आपल्या घरात कुत्रा पळतात.

मला पण कुत्रे फार आवडतात माल कुत्र्यांन विषयी फारशी माहिती आहे, आणि मी सुद्धा एक कुत्रा पळला आहे. माझ्या कुत्र्याचे नाव "प्रीन्स" आहे, तो जर्मन शेपर्ड ह्या जातीचा कुत्रा आहे. प्रिन्स दिसायला खूप सुंदर दिसतो पण तो तितकाच घातक पण आहे. सोमोर प्रिन्स दिसला कि कोणीही अनओळखी माणूस त्याच्या समोर येण्याची हिंमत करत नाही, त्याला बघून सर्वे घाबरतात.

माझा कुत्रा प्रिन्स माझ्या कडे अगदी तो लहान होता तेव्हा पासून आहे. मला कुत्रे फार आवडतात म्हणून माझ्या बाबांनी माझ्या वाढदिवसाला मला हा कुत्रा भेट म्हणून दिला होता. आता पर्यंत हि माझी सर्वात आवडती भेटवस्तू आहे. प्रिन्स ला आता सात वर्ष झाली आहेत आणि तो एक केवळ प्राणी नसून तो आमच्या कुटुंबाचा एक भाग आहे.

प्रिन्स सर्वांचाच लढका आहे त्याची त्याची आणि माझी फार चांगली मैत्री आहे, जे मी सांगेन तो ते ऐकतो. त्याला बस सांगितले कि बसतो आणि उठ सांगितले कि उठतो. त्यला जर मी प्रिन्स "गो" म्हणाला आणि हातातचा इशारा दिला कि समोरच्याचे काही खरे नाही, तो इशारा मिळताच भुंकत धावून जातो. आणि मी सांगितले कि एका आवाजात तो शांत होतो.

प्रिन्स ला सांगितले शेक ह्यांड कि तो लगेच बसतो आणि आपला एक हात वर करतो आणि समोरच्या व्यक्तीच्या हातात हात देतो आणि त्याची जीभ बाहेर काढतो. माझा कुत्रा प्रिन्स हा खूपच प्रेमळ कुत्रा आहे तो माझ्या वर खूप प्रेम करतो. त्याचे केस खूप सुंदर आहेत आणि मोठे सुद्धा मी त्याला दर दोन आठवड्याने आंघोळ घालतो.

प्रिन्स खूप हुशार आहे त्याचे कान नेहमी उभे असतात कोणी अनओळखी आले कि तो लगेच भुंकून इशारा देतो त्याचे नाकाची गोष्टच वेगली आहे कुठलीही वस्तू त्याला लगेच वास घेऊन कळते. क्रिकेट खेळताना तो लगेच बोल शोधून आनतो. कधी घराच्या बाहेर गेले आणि उशिरा घरी येतात तित पर्यंत प्रिन्स आमची वाट बागात राहतो. माझी आजी प्रिन्स चे खूप लाढ करायची जेव्हा आजी वारली (मेली) तेव्हा घरी सर्व रडत होते आणि प्रिन्स सुद्धा रडत होता तो वेगलाच आवाज काढत होता ज्यात तो दुखी आहे असे जाणवत होते.

असा हा कुत्रा फारच हुशार असतो तो एक अत्यंत प्रेमळ आणि इमानदार प्राणी आहे त्याच्या कडे कुठली हि वस्तू वास घेऊन शोधण्याची शमता आहे म्हणून आर्मी आणि पोलीस कुत्रा पाळतात कुत्र्याच्या ह्याच गुनान मुळे कुत्रा हा माझा आवडता प्राणी आहे.

कुत्र्याचे कान अतिशय तीक्ष्ण असतात जराही चाहूल येताचं कुत्रा इकडे तिकडे पाहतो व आपले कान उभा करून सतर्क होतो. यासोबतच कुत्र्याकडे वास घेण्याची क्षमता अतिशय जास्त आहे. कुत्रा खूप हुशार प्राणी आहे तो नेहमी सावध असतो. जगभरामध्ये कुत्र्याच्या विविध जाती पाहायला मिळतात जसे की, लॅब्राडॉर, जर्मन शेफर्ड, बुलडॉग , पुडल, पिटबुल, रॉटविलर, ग्रेहाऊंड यासारखे कित्येक प्रकारच्या जातीचे कुत्रे पाहायला मिळतात.

कुत्र्यांना मनुष्याचा सगळ्यात चांगला मित्र म्हणले तरी चुकीचे ठरणार नाही कारण पुतळा हा आपल्या मालकाची जात मरेपर्यंत सोडत नाही. कुत्रा हा अतिशय प्रेमळ आणि निष्ठावंत प्राणी आहे. असा हा निष्ठावंत प्राणी असलेला कुत्रा याचे आयुष्यमान 14 वर्षाची आहे. म्हणजेच एक कुत्रा साधारणता 14 वर्षे जगू शकतो. मादी कुत्रा हे पिलांना जन्म देते एका वेळेस चार ते पाच पिल्लांना जन्म देते. व पिले मोठी होईपर्यंत मादी त्यांचे संगोपन करते.

कुत्रा हा एक पाळीव प्राणी आहे. तो स्वामीभक्त असतो. घरांच्या रक्षणासाठी तो फार उपयोगी आहे. त्‍याच्‍या  अनेक जाती असतात. काही तर फार समजदार असतात. त्यांची गंधसंवेदना फार तीव्र असते. म्हणून पोलिस गुन्हेगारांना पकडण्यासाठी कुत्र्यांची मदत घेतात.

कुत्र्याला चार पाय, दोन डोळे, दोन कान, शेपूट असते . कुत्रे अनेक रंगाचे असतात. त्यांचे आकारही वेगवेगळे असतात. काही सशासारखे लहान व गोजिरवाणे तर काही वाघा एवढे मोठे व मजबूत असतात. अनेक लोक घराच्या राखणीसाठी कुत्रे पाळतात. दारावरची घंटी वाजताच कुत्रे सावध होतात. अनोळखी माणसे पाहिली की भुंकू लागतात. रात्रीच्या वेळी चोर आले तर त्याच्या भुंकण्याने लोक जागे होतात. मग चोर एक तर पळून जातो किंवा पकडला जातो. काही लोक आवड किंवा हौस म्हणून कुत्रे पाळतात.

कुत्रा जरी उपयोगी प्राणी असला तरी तो पिसाळला की धोकादायक बनतो तो चावला तर इंजेक्शन घेणे अत्यावश्यक असते. असे न केल्यास ज्याला कुत्रे चावले तो पिसाळू शकतो. भटक्या जमातीचे लोक नेहमी आपल्याबरोबर कुत्रे बाळगतात. त्यात शिकारी कुत्रे पण असतात. त्यांचे मालक लहान, जंगली जनावरांची शिकार करताना या कुत्र्यांची मदत घेतात. कुत्र्याच्या स्वामीभक्तीच्या अनेक कथा प्रसिद्ध आहेत. धर्मराजाला स्वर्गापर्यंत घेऊन जाणारा एक कुत्राच होता. असा हा इमानदार प्राणी माणसाचा खरा मित्र आहे.
