500 Words Essay on My Favourite Subject

As a student, everyone excels in some subjects and not in the others. Of course, there are some students who do well in all of them, but that number is low. However, almost every student has a favourite subject. It does not matter if it’s related to academics or arts.

Essay on My Favourite Subject

Personally, my favorite subject is English. I have always scored well on the subject because I understand it well. It makes learning effortless and I always manage to get good marks. There are other subjects I like too but English definitely tops my list. I never get bored of it and am always ready to study it.

Reason For Favouritism

There are many reasons as to why I enjoy studying English. The major one is that it enhances my reading skills. Ever since my childhood, my mother has always read stories to me. So, I developed a habit of reading and listening to stories. As my reading skills get polished through English, it helps me in other subjects too. I grasp the concepts better through reading.

Furthermore, through English, I developed a knack for writing. I absolutely enjoy writing essays and articles. It is only through English, that I started writing my own work. This helps me in forming incredible answers for other subjects as well. It gives me the experience to use accurate words and sentences to convey my message better.

Most importantly, I love fictional stories in English. I love how it always has some lessons in them to learn. They also apply in real life and help me make wise decisions. The stories in English novels and plays always keeps me entertained. It also enhances my imagination powers.

A Scoring Subject

English is definitely a scoring subject which makes it even more special for me. I am an average student who does not take much interest in Science. I manage to get decent marks in the subjects, but in English, I score well. When we compare English to other subjects, we see it is most scoring.

English does not demand word to word answers. It gives the child a chance to play with words. It gives them the creative liberty to speak their minds out. For instance, in Maths, you cannot create your own formulas. You must copy the same exact one taught in the syllabus. But, in English, we can compose our own answers based on our understanding and intelligence.

In addition, English teachers are usually more approachable and understanding. In other subjects, the teachers always have to stick by the book and literally make students mug up the formulas and theories. The English teacher takes time to make them understand each phrase. They allow the students to interpret it as per their intellect. This empowers the child too so they can put their own thinking in it.

In short, I absolutely love English. It gives me the chance to excel without putting too much pressure on me. I get to play with words and form my own interpretations. This helps me get the creative freedom I do not get in other subjects.

Choosing a favourite subject helps a person to stay genuinely focused during their course of study. The person becomes more committed to learning new things about that subject. It adds meaning to life. The benefits of choosing a favourite subject solely depend on the subject selected. For example, if we choose mathematics, then it improves calculation skills and is advantageous in daily life courses. If we decide English, it helps in improving vocabulary and speaking skills. Each subject has something more to offer us other than just bookish knowledge. It teaches us something new, something that leads to a better perspective on life. This knowledge opens doors to an unimaginable world. From the tip of a pen to the distant bright stars, we are surrounded by different subject knowledge.

How do planets orbit the Sun? How do animals and plants reproduce? Why can birds fly, but humans can’t? How angles describe the motion of any object? There are numerous questions, and there is a wide range of possibilities to answer these questions. Also, we can only answer them if we know that subject. These questions and answers bring interest to a subject. To discover the unknown roads of science & technology, mathematics, English, history, biology, etc. we develop a compelling interest in a subject and that is what makes life more enjoyable.

My Favourite Subject – Essay 2

When I was in standard five, I happened to fail in history in the first unit test, and then daddy began teaching me history. He is a professor of history and is an expert in the subject.

He explained to me the events and incidents given in the textbooks as if they were all interesting stories. I did very well in history as in the next examination.

But more than that, I had developed an abiding love for the subject. From then on, history has always been my favourite subject. I love reading about the Battles of Panipat , about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s victories and the great Indian freedom struggle. The bravery of the Rani of Jhansi fascinates me.

I always in search of books that tell me more about these great people, especially their childhood. There is the story of how Gandhiji refused to copy the word he had mis-spelt.

Or the one about how tilak, in the school he had not thrown peanut shells on the floor. Or the one of how Vallabhbhai Patel took a hot iron to burn a boil under his armpit. These stories show me how brave and truthful these great leaders were, even as children. Many of my friends complain that history is a very dull and hard subject. Thankfully, it isn’t for me. It shall always be my one and only favourite subject.

My Favourite Subject is Maths

Many student fears to Maths subject, I was among them only. Once I failed in the Mathematics, I was depressed. My friends start making fun of me.

I was lucky that my mother was a Maths Teacher, she always prompts me that, Rahul lets ply with maths, but I didn’t take that seriously.

When I told, my mother that I have failed in maths subject, she got shocked. But thankfully, she didn’t shout at me, instead of that she give me an inspirational speech.

Later on she start teaching me Mathematics, she taught me to play with maths and really I enjoyed a lot, from that day Maths became my favourite subject.

I score out of marks in this subject. Now I also teach those friends who really fear to Maths. They have set a mentality of that maths subject is very difficult and it has hell lot of formula to remember.

But my mother taught me maths in fun way; I used that technique to solve the problem. Now I generally search for problem to solve them. From this my confidence level has increase and I’m happy that most difficult subject has become a game for me.

Becoming engineer is my ambition, and in Engineering there are hell lots of complex problem, so I wish it will be easy for me.

My Favourite Subject is Science

My favourite subject in school is Science. It is my favourite subject because I never face any problem while learning it and it came easy to me. I always score good marks in my science test.

According to me, everything that surrounds us is science. Everything that we use someway or somehow is made by science. Science is nothing but discovering something new and then find what it can be capable of and where it can fit in use.

Other subject like mathematics has many formulae and every step in solving problem is done logically. Remembering the formulas and other facts is hard work compared to the ease and simplicity of science. Although it requires a lot of memory work but I never have any difficulty.

While science is simple to me, some of my friends finds it difficult. They often get stuck and give up, so I try to help them out.

The one advantage that I have in being good in science I study regularly and do my homework on time. I prepare some test paper on my own to test my skills. This way I don’t have to spend more time on it and I get enough time to study other subjects as well.

Today science has taken us to a new level, from fast computers to smartphones and it has been a huge breakthrough in science.

Science is both physics and chemistry. In science of chemistry, various elements are discovered and these elements are used in chemical bonding. In physics, there are many discovered laws and properties.

I have come to realize that every person has their own ability. If a person is good in something it is not necessary that he/she would be good in everything. If you’re good in something than don’t make fun others who are not, instead try to help them.

My Favourite Subject is English

English is my favourite subject, because I have never faced any problem to achieve good marks. My teacher Mrs. Leena helps me a lot to improve my grammar.

Earlier, English subject was not my favourite, but once I failed in this subject. I got depressed, but my mother as well as my teacher boost my confidence and help me a lot.

It includes: narrating and entertaining writing a story , explaining and informing , writing a research paper, writing to express an opinion , writing to persuade , tools and tips, writing process, write a description , but there is prewriting where you choose a topic, explore it and organize it, writing a working draft revising proofreading and publishing. One Long Essay on My Favourite Subject with a word limit of 600 and another Short Essay on My Favourite Subject with a word limit of 200. Both essays can be used for assignment and tests.

Long Essay on My Favourite Subject 600 Words in English

My Favourite Subject Essay is usually given to classes 7, 8, 9, and 10.

My favourite subject at school is physics. Being one of the toughest subjects of all, I always prefer studying for physics than any other subject because of the fact that it is challenging, interesting and helps me build my career as a physicist. My inspiration to become a theoretical physicist is Albert Einstein. A not so academically inclined student from a humble background who went on to change the way we see the world is what inspires me. There various other people in the field of physics who has been my inspiration to become a scientist, some of them are CV Raman, Isaac Newton, Thomas Alva Edison, Nikola Tesla and most recently and the most popular scientists of all, Steven Hawking.

I consider these people as my source of inspiration because they have dedicated their entire lives for science and have discovered many things that have helped this world become a better place. From inventing the atomic bomb to discovering a black hole in the universe, physicists and scientists studying it know no bounds.

I particularly love physics because of the real-life impacts it has on our lives. Science is the only subject that has the potential to solve many problems in the world like water problem, climate change, distress and medical problems. Given the gravity of the impact that science has on our lives, I could not turn my eyes away from studying it. I specifically fell in love with physics in the branch of science because it includes the aspects of both mathematics and chemistry, my other two favourite subjects in school.

I always happen to score well in these subjects because I love studying them and no one has to force me into studying. I find subjects like geography or history boring and I would rather study physics on my own than being forced to study other subjects like civics, history or moral science. I understand that our education system is designed such that all subjects, irrespective of whether we like it or not, are stuffed into our brains. I study other subjects only to pass and get a good overall grade, but ultimately the main subject I’ll be studying in under graduation and post-graduation is physics.

The only reason I study other subjects is to score good overall grades because I want to do further studies in the field of physics at Harvard University. And to get into this university, my overall grade in school should be good. It’s not only about grades, this university looks into our extracurricular and co-curricular activities as well as a part of the admission process. Being only a book worm will not get me into this prestigious university. I should be an all-rounded achiever in all spectrums such as sports, arts and culture. I participate in my school sports activities and have won a few awards. I also take acting lessons in mime because I find it interesting.

Other than physics,  I love chemistry, maths and to a certain extent biology. Infact, my parents want me to become a doctor which means biology should have been my subject of interest. Although I love the subject and also love the job of the doctor, I believe a scientist plays a greater role in shaping our society than any other professionals.

Short Essay on My Favourite Subject 200 Words in English

My Favourite Subject Essay is usually given to classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

My favourite subject is physics. Physics is perceived by my friends as the toughest subject of all as it is an amalgamation of maths and chemistry. But I happen to love physics mainly because of the broad everyday impact it has on society. Since I happen to like the subject, I’m good at it and usually score well and better than my classmates. As a result of which, I am almost like a tutor to my friends during physics examination time. Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking are two of my greatest role models in life. Other than being legendary theoretical physicists and having achieved great steps in their own field, they are a true inspiration with respect to their personal lives as well. While Albert Einstein having faced the difficulties and atrocities during the World War, especially having born in a humble family, went on to discover the theory of relativity in spite of all the hardships.

This is what makes Albert Einstein the greatest scientists of all time. And the thing about another widely popular scientist, Steven Hawking is much more inspirational than other scientists. Being a differently-abled person, and having stuck on a wheelchair for years, he discovered a black hole on the universe which has cascading effects on other inventions and our understanding of the universe. I want to grow up to be like them and make a worthwhile contribution to the field of physics. I aspire to study at top institutions in the world such as Harvard, CalTech and Princeton University. I one daydream of winning the Nobel Prize for physics.

My love for English bloomed at a very early age when I had an illustrated picture book of fairytales. My mother used to read me stories from that book. That is how I fell in love with this book. When I learned to read, I used to read short rhymes and poems from any English book I could get my hands on. Soon, I developed an interest in learning more about this subject. I remember spending long hours practising grammar and solving different grammatical problems.

Also,  my love for English opened a whole new chapter for learning different other subjects. The best books and study materials are always written in English, and knowing this language opens up a vast world of learning other things. Learning English helped me increase my skills of comprehension. With each book I read, I learn more, and my vocabulary becomes polished.

English is my favourite subject also because  I want to be a writer. There are so many books in the world, and they make me feel inspired by their different narrative styles, writing techniques and information. I enjoy writing short essays and articles, and I decided to become a writer when I grew up. I feel fascinated by short stories, poems, and fiction. In future, I want to have my own book of stories to be published.

That is why it is very important for me to learn more about this language. Being a writer easier said than done. I try to be very careful about each word I use for each expression. I still have a lot more to learn about this language and English literature before I feel confident about writing anything. But until then, I want to keep learning.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I not only love reading English, but I have also been the highest scorer in English in my class. Of course, I am not the best scorer in all the subjects. But, having a good grasp of English has also helped me score decently in other subjects as well. My love for my favourite subject will never reduce. It will grow with me as I grow older and learn more.

Essay on My Favourite Subject | For Students

In the world of learning, there’s one subject that stands out for me, shining like a beacon of curiosity and inspiration. That subject is science, and in this essay, I will argue why it’s my favorite subject. Science is not just a school subject; it’s a key that unlocks the secrets of the universe, a window into the wonders of our world.

Exploration and Discovery

Science is all about exploration and discovery. It’s like going on an adventure every day, where you’re the explorer, and the world is your playground. According to the National Science Teachers Association, science helps us understand how things work and allows us to make sense of the world around us. I love the feeling of uncovering new facts and asking questions like a detective on a mission.

Hands-On Learning

What makes science even more exciting is that it’s hands-on. We get to conduct experiments, mix chemicals, observe reactions, and build models. These experiences help us learn by doing, which research from the National Research Council suggests is one of the most effective ways to understand and remember information. When I’m in the science lab, I feel like a real scientist, making discoveries and solving mysteries.

Real-World Applications

Science is not just a subject confined to the classroom; it has real-world applications that impact our lives every day. Take the field of medicine, for example. Doctors use scientific knowledge to diagnose and treat illnesses, improving our health and well-being. According to the World Health Organization, advances in medical science have led to longer and healthier lives. Learning about these practical applications of science makes me feel like I’m learning something that truly matters.

Solving Puzzles

Science is like a giant puzzle, with pieces waiting to be put together. Every experiment, every equation, and every observation are pieces of that puzzle. When we solve a science problem, it’s like finding the missing piece and watching the whole picture come together. The feeling of accomplishment and understanding is truly rewarding. A study in the journal “Learning and Instruction” suggests that problem-solving in science improves critical thinking skills and enhances overall cognitive development.

The Beauty of Nature

Science allows us to appreciate the beauty of nature in a whole new way. Whether it’s understanding the colors of a rainbow or the intricate patterns of a snowflake, science helps us see the world’s beauty through a scientific lens. The American Psychological Association suggests that appreciating nature has numerous mental and emotional benefits. I’ve learned to see the magic in everyday things, like the way a leaf changes color in the fall or the way a flower blooms in the spring.

Inspiring Role Models

In the realm of science, numerous inspiring role models have made remarkable discoveries, altering the course of history. For instance, individuals such as Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, and Jane Goodall have demonstrated the potency of curiosity and unwavering determination. Consequently, their stories serve as a poignant reminder that regardless of one’s background, it is possible to create a significant impact on the world through science. Consequently, gaining insights into the lives of these role models serves as a strong motivator for me to pursue my own scientific aspirations.

Global Impact

Science extends beyond our immediate surroundings; moreover, it holds a global influence. Furthermore, scientists from various nations unite to tackle critical global problems, ranging from climate change to disease outbreaks. According to the United Nations, international collaboration in science is indispensable for addressing worldwide challenges. Consequently, recognizing that my beloved subject possesses the capacity to create a constructive influence on the world motivates me to continue my journey of learning and exploration

Conclusion of Essay on My Favourite Subject

In conclusion, science is my favorite subject because it offers endless opportunities for exploration, hands-on learning, and discovery. It has real-world applications that improve our lives, and it allows me to solve puzzles and appreciate the beauty of nature in a whole new way. Science also introduces me to inspiring role models and reminds me of the global impact that knowledge and curiosity can have.

As I continue my journey in the fascinating world of science, I am excited about the mysteries I have yet to unravel and the discoveries I have yet to make. Science isn’t just a subject; it’s a lifelong adventure, a journey of curiosity, and a path to understanding the world and our place in it. So, for me, science will always be more than just a subject; it’s a passion, a way of thinking, and a source of endless wonder.

I have always had a passion for reading. I was the child that co,uld not be found without a book pressed up against her nose. I was never the biggest, strongest, or the most athletically inclined student. With a book in hand I could become anyone I wanted to be, there were no limits to my abilities. To me, every day was a new adventure. As a small child, I could become a fearless pirate, a beautiful mermaid, or a terrifying giant barging through the clouds. (This was a favorite adventure of mine as I stand just less than five feet tall.) The authors of these titles felt like friends more than narrators.

Recess may have excited the other children in my classes, but I was more likely to find a shady spot and sit with a friend and read. The smell of a library excited me more than the scent of outdoors. I would never skip an opportunity to escape real life, even if it were just for a moment. I believe this appreciation of fictional literature drove me to my love of English.

My fascination with reading literature propelled me to a love of writing as well. I envied the artistry that I found in others’ writings. I wanted to be able to evoke the same emotions into individuals as other authors had done for me time after time. When assigned short stories to write, I manifested this idea into every work. I tried to impress others with my ability to dream up wild stories and transcribe them to paper. Seeing the interest of others in what I had to write fueled my appetite to create stories. Now if I was not reading, I was writing; I became infatuated with the use of words and grammar. Never was I satisfied with an ordinary word - I would search fervently through thesauruses to find the exact word I needed. It had to make my reader exhibit the emotion and mental picture I wanted them to have. The fair maiden of my tale would not just be beautiful. She would be “magnificent” or “radiate elegance from her every pore.” A knight would not be brave; he would be “valiant, and audacious!”

I have not gotten this far on passion alone. I have had so many great teachers along the way who have encouraged everything I do. These teachers have pushed me past the curriculum and encouraged me to read novels that may seem daunting. They challenge me to push myself past the level of expectations that I held for myself. I have learned that if it is not challenging me, then I am not getting any better. With this mind set, I have been able to excel in this subject. Watching an instructor’s eyes light up when discussing an author or literary subject has helped pave a path of success for me. It has helped me to become the student I am today. Seeing the passion in others reinforces my appreciation of the subject. These teachers were the ones who encouraged me to compete in UIL Spelling and Vocabulary.

At my school, I have had the honor of serving in a club that is an advocate for spreading literacy to children. Our school’s Interact Club partners with our local Rotary Club to participate in The Green Bus Project. We have converted a donated bus into a kid friendly mobile library. This bus contains shelves and shelves of books providing a positive atmosphere to children who may not have much access to literature, especially during the summer months. This brightly colored bus travels to low-income neighborhoods offering stories and sack lunches to children who otherwise might not receive food while not at school. I do not just enjoy helping the children, but it also gives me an opportunity to share with them what I love. I can offer advice on which books to read that I read when I was in elementary. I can select my favorite stories to read aloud to the group. Our hope is to spark a love of literature into younger generations. This has become my favorite of the service projects I do in school because I can connect to this on a personal level. Seeing the same excitement on a child’s face that I had also felt, made every Saturday I spent with them beyond worth it. Nothing compares to sharing your passion with young spirits.

A love of English is a journey. English is the core of our ability to communicate from individual to individual. This subject has taught me countless skills and has helped me to become an analytically minded person. This varies my perspective on issues, and allows me to form new opinions. English has been able to flourish my overall growth as a young person. It has showed me the many points of views, ideas, and beliefs of the everyday man. Studying more about Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Mark Twain, and Geoffrey Chaucer has given me an insight into human nature. The amount this subject has taught me is endless and it opens up gateways to all others subjects. With such great teachers as role models and amazing adventures at my disposal I doubt I will ever lose my passion for literature.

I have always been fascinated by the wonders of the natural world and the way in which science helps us to understand and explain these phenomena. From a young age, I was drawn to the subject because of its ability to answer questions and solve problems through observation, experimentation, and critical thinking.

One of the reasons why I love science is because of its practical applications in everyday life. Science is not just a theoretical subject that exists in textbooks and classrooms; it is a discipline that is constantly evolving and shaping the world around us. Whether it is the technology we use, the medicines we take, or the food we eat, science plays a crucial role in improving our quality of life and advancing human progress.

Another reason why I am drawn to science is because of its emphasis on evidence-based reasoning and logical thinking. In science, we are taught to question everything, to seek out the truth through experimentation and observation, and to base our conclusions on empirical evidence. This approach to learning has helped me to develop critical thinking skills and a healthy skepticism towards unsubstantiated claims and pseudoscience.

Furthermore, I love science because of its interdisciplinary nature. Science is not just one subject, but a combination of various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. One of my favourite aspects of science is its ability to inspire wonder and awe. Whether it is the beauty of a starry night sky, the complexity of a living organism, or the elegance of a mathematical equation, science has a way of captivating our imagination and sparking our curiosity. [This article is part of a new series where we will be dissecting each of the UC essay prompts in depth, providing examples and tips on how you can make your application stand out.]

Click here to read yesterday’s post about UC Prompt #5.

Prompt #6: Think about an academic subject that inspires you. Describe how you have furthered this interest inside and/or outside of the classroom.

Struggling with writing your college application essay?

Read our Ultimate Guide to Stand Out College Essays to learn the tips and techniques on writing a winning essay and maximize your college admission chances!

This is as straightforward of a prompt as you’re going to get in arguably the entire college application process. There’s no secret interpretation of this prompt; it’s literally just asking you to describe how you came to love and demonstrate your favorite academic subject.

If you had an immediate answer in your head after you read this prompt, this one is a must-write. If this subject is directly related to what you want to major in or your future career path, then this is your opportunity to show the UCs your expertise in this topic. Ideally, it’s a subject that you also excel at in terms of grades and connections with teachers.

Just because the prompt is very straightforward does not mean that your answer should be overly straightforward. Many students fall into the trap of writing something along the lines of, “My favorite subject in school is math, because it’s something I excelled in as a kid and then I continued to have great teachers…”

These are all generalizations about the subject that any student could theoretically say. It doesn’t help admissions officers believe that your interest in the subject is special or worth investing in. In other words, you must provide specific examples that show that you - and only you - have this unique path to why you love this subject.

If you want to give credit to a teacher for steering you to your love of this subject, it’s not enough to just say that you loved that teacher. Tell us what the teacher did specifically or what your relationship was like in detail in order to convince us that this was a special connection.

Moreover, we recommend that you choose a subject that you ideally have some sort of outside-of-the-classroom experience with in order to really stand out amongst your peers. Maybe you were lucky enough to have a related internship, maybe you tutored someone else in this subject, or maybe you started a club dedicated to this subject. Whatever it may be, you need to explain how it furthered your already extensive knowledge of the topic. Universities are looking for students who can take what they learn in the classroom and apply it in the real world.

It’s also great if you include a little bit at the end about how you plan on pursuing this subject in the future . While the prompt doesn’t specifically call for it, it’s always good to remind UCs what you could potentially contribute to their campus.

How you might structure this essay:

An anecdote of a specific instance of you loving the subject, learning a particular topic, or making some intellectual realization

Explain the reason behind why the anecdote is important to your love of the subject

Maybe another anecdote that shows the progression of your relationship with the subject in the classroom

If you have out of the classroom experience, write another anecdote and explain how it furthers your interests

Reflect on how this entire academic journey shaped you as a person and how you plan on furthering it in the future

Essay on my favorite subject

Essay on my favorite subject: A Guide to Academic and Professional Success

Identifying our favorite subjects is crucial as it sets the trajectory for our academic and professional paths. Our preferred subjects serve as indicators of our inherent aptitudes, and pursuing higher education in these fields often leads to remarkable success.

  • Essay on my favorite subject

Academic interests vary greatly from one student to another. Some students prefer to study scientific subjects such as physics, chemistry, and biology, while others prefer to study literature, poetry, and languages, and still others prefer to study mathematics and statistics. There are also those who prefer to study history and geography.

This great diversity in subjects allows each student to study their favorite subjects. In an essay about my favorite subject, we will explain the importance of specialization in study. The philosopher Cicero said: “Knowledge is an art, but teaching is another art in itself.”

One of my favorite subjects is mathematics. I excel in it greatly, and I always get the highest grades in math exams. I prefer it because it is a subject that requires a lot of thinking, it develops the mind, and it contains many theories and concepts that are used in industry or architecture or other practical fields.

When I study mathematics, I feel a great challenge, because this subject includes a variety of problems, including direct problems that can be easily solved after knowing the mathematical theory or law, and other problems that are similar to puzzles and are indirect and require a lot of attention, thinking, deduction, and the use of more than one theory to solve them. These problems are my favorite because they develop my mind and my ability to think and understand.

In an essay about my favorite subject, I will mention my favorite subject, which is learning foreign languages. Learning languages provides us with many benefits, including learning about the culture of other peoples by reading their writings, or talking to people from different countries and getting to know their ideas, especially through social media, which has greatly helped in communicating with people around the world. Learning languages is also useful in studies, so that I can study at a prestigious university outside my country.

Learning languages allowed me to make friends with many people around the world. We exchange ideas and get to know each other’s cultures. This is very beneficial, and we must benefit from the civilization and culture of other countries. It is not necessary that everything that is different from our culture is bad, and we must choose what suits us from the civilization of others without giving up our principles.

It is important for a person to learn other languages other than his mother tongue, because this will allow him to learn everything new in the field of science and technology.

In fact, it was good to publish scientific research in English, because it is the most widely spoken language in the world, and thus it became easy to obtain information and follow up on modern discoveries and inventions. And there are other favorite topics that I will mention in an essay about my favorite subject.

I also love studying biology, which is an interesting subject because it deals with the study of living organisms, and I love to learn information about the human body and the function of each organ of the body.

Knowing the function of each organ in the body makes us follow health guidelines, and this helps us maintain good health.

I also love drawing, which is my favorite hobby. I love drawing natural landscapes, so I go to gardens or the beach on weekends. There I can practice my hobby and draw beautiful paintings. I also love reading because it is very important for everyone. George Santayana said: “The child whose education is limited to school is a child who has not learned.”

In conclusion to the essay about my favorite subject, I have presented to you some of the subjects that I prefer, and these subjects reflect my interests and are the subjects that qualify me to enter the college I want to study in.

I want to be an engineer in the future, so I am interested in studying mathematics.

Every student must know his or her interests and the job he or she dreams of, and he or she must be interested in studying the subjects that will help him or her achieve his or her future goal.

There is a saying that I liked that says: “The misfortune is to study without thinking, and the greater misfortune is to think without studying.”

I hope you have benefited from the essay about my favorite subject, and I would be happy to receive your comments.

My Favourite Subject Essay in English for Class 3 Students

Essay on my favourite subject for class 3 students.

Writing an essay on My Favorite Subject in English helps students from class 3 to express why the subject is close to them and what makes it interesting for them. Here, Vedantu has provided a Short Essay on My Favorite Subject for Class 3 Students so that it becomes easier for them to understand the importance of the subject and compose an essay on a topic of My Favorite Subject.

All students have one favorite subject out of all the different subjects they study at school. For most of the students, English is their favorite subject. English is one of the most interesting subjects. Students from class 3 can learn new words and read so many wonderful stories with English subjects. English not only helps students from class 3 to write better but also teaches them many new lessons.

Essay writing tasks are introduced in the syllabus of junior school so as to improve the English writing skills of young kids. It also helps the kids learn to put their ideas into meaningful sentences and paragraphs. While writing an essay on ‘My Favorite Subject’, kids will be able to communicate what exactly they are interested in when it comes to academics. We at Vedantu have come up with two essays on ‘My Favorite Subject’ that are easy to understand for the kids of class 3.

My Favorite Subject: Mathematics

My favorite subject is Mathematics and Miss Olivera teaches us this subject in school. Our school has given us three books on this subject. One book is for mental math, another book is full of worksheets and the third book has all the chapters explained with example sums.

Of all the subjects, I like doing math homework the most. I like solving the sums on double-digit addition and carry over subtraction. Whenever my mother takes me to the market along with her, I try to add up all the money spent before the shopkeeper makes the bill. Sometimes I can add it faster than the shopkeeper does.

I also like to solve the sums on Time and Calendar. My friends and I make teams and play games on time sums, at school. Another Math chapter that I find very interesting is Metric Measures. I do not like to learn all the conversions in this chapter, but I love to measure the lengths of my play tent and my teddy bear with a ruler. My father asks me to convert the length of my play tent into the other units of length that are given in my Math book. He keeps giving me a new task every day to calculate something.

My father helps me with my mathematics homework on the weekends. He always sets a timer on his mobile phone and asks me to finish all the sums within that time. He takes me out for an ice-cream treat whenever I am able to finish all the sums before the timer goes off. He keeps on telling me that I will be able to do good in Math if I practice more.

My Favorite Subject: English

My favorite subject is English and I love to read the stories in my English book. Miss Stephen is our English teacher at school. Our school follows two textbooks for English of which one is for English Grammar and another is for English Literature. Most of the stories and poems in my English book have interesting pictures illustrating the main plot. These pictures help me to understand the stories even better.

I get to learn many new words from each chapter in my English book. The meanings of the new words in every chapter are always given at the end of it. I find it very interesting to make sentences with every new English word that I learn. Also, our English teacher gives us five new vocabulary words to learn at home, every week. We have to write a spelling test on these vocabulary words, at the beginning of every week. I like to use these new vocabulary words when I write or speak to others in English.

In our school, inter-house competitions are held every month and I always participate in the activity of creative writing. All the stories and poems that I get to learn in the English classes help me perform better in this inter-house activity. My mother always tells me to write simple sentences in English so that the reader can understand my message. I love creative writing tasks as I get an opportunity to explore my imaginations more and to express my thoughts into words.

English is not only a regular subject but it also has a creative side. I like to write and express myself with these writings. English being my favorite subject, I love to read books and write poems and poetries too. This helps me with exploring my skills to write and communicate by learning new words every day through various lessons from the textbook.

One of the main reasons why English is my favorite subject out of all the subjects is because our English teacher is very kind and she teaches us very well. English is a subject that I want to learn more and more about in future.

In English, I not only study grammar but also get to read many different interesting stories and poems. The lessons contained in the English subject have interesting stories and poems that help me improve my reading skills as well as writing skills. When I read these stories and poems from English, I can relate to the characters and love to learn more about them.

10 Lines on English Is My Favorite Subject

English is my favorite subject out of all the subjects that I study in school.

English also helps me express myself and write on different topics by myself.

I like studying English and learning the grammatical rules that help me write better.

Our English teacher is very kind and teaches us very well, which helps me to learn better.

My vocabulary improves as I learn each lesson of the English subject.

I love English as a subject. It gives me an opportunity to explore my writing skills and reading skills.

English is more interesting for me than all the other subjects I learn in school.

I like reading stories and poems from my English textbook. It helps me to improve my English language and also experience many different new stories.

English is a very nice language, and it is a pleasure to learn more about it.

The stories from English also teach me various lessons and morals that help me become a better person.

What Is Your Favorite Subject: The Answer Might Surprise You!

By: Author Valerie Forgeard

Categories Education

You’ve always had that one subject you’re drawn to, haven’t you?

Whether it’s the thrill of solving math problems or the allure of historical tales, your favorite subject can significantly shape your learning experience and future aspirations.

This article explores how these preferences form, their impact on your academic performance, career choices, and personal development. Let’s delve into what makes a subject your ‘favorite’.

Key Takeaways

  • Favorite subjects have a strong influence on career choices and job satisfaction.
  • Personal interests and emotions play a significant role in subject selection and engagement.
  • Teachers play a crucial role in shaping students’ subject inclinations and enjoyment.
  • Favorite subjects can enhance learning, critical thinking skills, self-confidence, and academic success.

Analyzing the Importance of Favorite Subjects

It’s crucial to understand why we’re drawn to our favorite subjects, as they often shape our future career paths. This attraction can be attributed to a particular subject bias and individual learning styles.

Subject bias is your inclination towards a particular field due to personal interest or perceived ease of understanding. You might find science class fascinating or history class enthralling because they resonate with you in ways other subjects don’t.

Then, there are your unique learning styles. Some people are visual learners, others prefer auditory or kinesthetic means – these preferences can significantly influence which subjects you favor.

It’s important for you to recognize this interplay between subject bias and learning styles when choosing your path of study; it could mean the difference between struggling and thriving in your chosen field.

The Psychology Behind Favorite Subjects

You’ve identified your favorite subjects, but have you ever considered the deeper psychological mechanisms at work here?

Delve into the role your personal interests play in this preference and explore how they’re intertwined with your emotional connections to these subjects.

This analysis will provide a greater understanding of why you’re drawn to certain topics more than others, shedding light on the intricate relationship between individual interest, emotion, and learning.

Influence of Personal Interests

Your personal interests can greatly influence what you’ll choose as your favorite subject. Interest development is a critical factor in this process. Consider how your hobbies, passions, and fascinations shape the topics that engage you most profoundly.

Now, beware of subjective bias in this selection process. It’s easy to favor subjects that align with pre-existing interests or experiences. This bias might lead you to overlook potentially fascinating fields outside your comfort zone. To mitigate this, try exploring diverse topics and exposing yourself to different perspectives.

In essence, while personal interests play a role in determining your favorite subject, it’s important not to let these preferences restrict your academic exploration. After all, education is about expanding horizons rather than limiting them.

Emotional Connection to Subjects

Feeling an emotional connection to certain topics can influence what you’ll gravitate towards in your studies. This subjective affinity, a blend of personal interests and emotions, shapes your academic choices and fuels emotional learning. You’re more likely to dive deeper into subjects that stir up strong feelings or relate to your life experiences.

It’s not just about understanding concepts; it’s about relating them to yourself. Studies show that emotional learning boosts memory retention, as we remember emotionally charged events better than neutral ones. So, don’t ignore the power of your emotions when choosing a subject for study. They can provide meaningful insights and foster greater engagement with the material at hand.

The Influence of Teachers on Favorite Subjects

You’ve likely noticed that a great teacher can profoundly impact your preference for certain subjects. This relationship isn’t merely anecdotal; there’s considerable research suggesting the influence educators wield over students’ subject inclinations is significant.

Let’s delve into an analytical exploration of this dynamic, examining pedagogical strategies and their potential to shape your academic preferences.

Teacher’s Role

In any subject, it’s the teacher’s role that often determines a student’s level of interest and understanding. As a facilitator of learning, you must create effective classroom dynamics that foster a conducive learning environment, making various subjects more accessible.

To do this, consider the following strategies:

  • Engage students in interactive discussions to stimulate critical thinking.
  • Apply real-life examples to make complex concepts easier to grasp.
  • Encourage teamwork through group activities for collaborative learning experiences.
  • Foster an inclusive environment where each student feels valued and heard.

These tactics can significantly influence how your students perceive not only their favorite subjects but also those they find challenging. Remember, it’s not just about teaching; it’s about inspiring curiosity and fostering lifelong learners.

Impact on Subject Preference

It’s undeniable that a teacher’s approach can greatly impact a student’s preference for certain academic areas. The way you’re taught, the techniques employed by your educators, and their ability to adapt to different learning styles all play significant roles in subject enjoyment.

Think about it: Does a lecture heavy style ignite your passion for history? Or does an interactive science experiment spark your interest more? Crucially, there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ method; teachers must consider diversity in learning styles. They need to adjust their strategies accordingly, fostering an inclusive educational environment.

Research suggests that when teaching methods align with students’ preferred learning styles, they’re more likely to enjoy the subject. Thus, teacher’s approach is instrumental in shaping students’ academic inclinations.

Impact of Favorite Subjects on Career Choices

Choosing a career that’s related to your favorite subject can really boost your job satisfaction. Aligning your profession with what you enjoy studying not only fosters enthusiasm but also promotes productivity.

Subject enjoyment and career alignment are profoundly interconnected, and this connection impacts both personal contentment and professional success.

To picture this, consider the following:

  • A math lover working as an accountant or engineer
  • A language enthusiast becoming a translator or writer
  • An art aficionado embracing a career in design or photography
  • A science devotee pursuing medicine or research

Your love for a subject can fuel your work ethic, enhance skill acquisition, and deepen job satisfaction. Therefore, choosing a career aligned with your preferred subject is indeed beneficial for longevity and fulfillment.

The Role of Personal Interests in Selecting Favorite Subjects

Personal interests play a crucial role when it’s time to select topics you’re most drawn to in school. This concept is known as interest-driven learning, where your subjective fascination guides your educational choices. Studies have shown that students learn more effectively and retain information longer when they are genuinely interested in the material.

Subjects that captivate you foster deeper engagement, leading to better understanding and retention of knowledge. This model of schooling taps into intrinsic motivation, making learning less about external rewards and more about personal fulfillment.

The Connection Between Favorite Subjects and Academic Performance

There’s a strong correlation between the topics students are most passionate about and their overall academic performance. Your subject passion plays a vital role in shaping your learning patterns, leading to improved comprehension and retention of knowledge.

Consider this:

  • The more you enjoy a subject, the more likely you’ll delve deeper into it.
  • Passionate learners often show initiative by researching additional material beyond classroom instruction.
  • Interest-driven study reduces procrastination and enhances productivity.
  • Engaging with beloved subjects helps develop critical thinking skills.

Essentially, when you align education with your interests, it doesn’t feel like work. This positive emotional response can boost self-confidence and promote a lifelong love for learning – key components for academic success.

How Favorite Subjects Can Shape Future Goals

It’s fascinating to see how an affinity for certain school topics can directly influence a student’s future aspirations and career paths. This subject passion plays a pivotal role in steering your academic journey, shaping your interests and ultimately, your future orientation.

For instance, a student who adores mathematics might aspire to become an engineer or economist. The love for English could translate into a pursuit of journalism or creative writing. Science enthusiasts often foresee themselves as researchers or doctors. Your favorite subjects don’t just enhance your scholastic performance; they act as compasses guiding you towards career paths that resonate with you.

Understanding this connection between subject passions and future orientation can help educators devise strategies to foster students’ intrinsic motivations, thereby driving them towards success in their desired fields.
