The peacock has great importance in Hinduism because the peacock’s feather is carried by Lord Krishna on his head and the peacock is also the vehicle of Lord Shiva’s son Karthik.

Impressed by the beauty of the peacock, the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan had ordered a throne like peacock feathers.

But even today, this birds are hunted, the government needs to pay special attention to it.

The peacock is male, while the peahen is female. The peahen is not so beautiful in appearance, it does not even have big wings. The peahen has small wings and their color is brown. It has smaller body than peacock.

A small part of the peacock’s neck is found green. Morni lays 4 to 5 eggs twice a year, of which only one or two are safe.

When the monsoon arrives in India, the peacock is very happy and spreads his wings and dances at a slow pace, which is very beautiful to watch as well as the female peacock is attracted by this gesture of peacock.

He is so happy while dancing that he does not know what is happening around him and the hunter takes advantage of this and hunts down the peacock.

The Peacock, they say, did not at first have the beautiful feathers in which he now takes so much pride. Then, decked in his finery, gleaming with emerald, gold, purple, and azure, he strutted proudly among the birds. All regarded him with envy. Presently the Peacock saw an Eagle soaring high up in the blue sky and felt a desire to fly, as he had been accustomed to do. Lifting his wings he tried to rise from the ground. But the weight of his magnificent train held him down. Instead of flying up to greet the first rays of the morning sun or to bathe in the rosy light among the floating clouds at sunset, he would have to walk the ground more encumbered and oppressed than any common barnyard fowl.

Do not sacrifice your freedom for the sake of pomp and show.
