10-line essay on ‘my country’ in english, short essay on my country for classes 1 & 2, long paragraph on my country for class 3, what will your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grader learn from ‘my country’ essay.

Our country has a rich history, diverse culture, valuable heritage and many unique aspects. Learning about these aspects lays the foundation of patriotism in children. The pride in their country motivates them to be good citizens and think about themselves as part of a larger community. In school, students are asked to write an essay on their country to increase their general knowledge and improve their writing skills. This can be a fairly difficult topic to write about, as students will need lots of guidance on how to weave the facts with their thoughts. Here are some sample essays on ‘My Country’ for classes 1, 2 and 3.

Writing an essay about their country requires students to balance some facts about the country with their own perspectives. Here are some tips on how to compose an essay on ‘my country’:

  • For short essays in simple lines, stick to essential facts that define the country.
  • For short paragraph essays, children will have to express their thoughts about different aspects of their country.
  • For long essays on the country, students will be required to memorise important facts about the country, balanced with their perspectives.

A short essay for class 1 and class 2 can include facts about the country, and its important accomplishments. Here is an example for a simple one-line essay on our country:

  • India is my motherland, and I am a proud citizen of my country.
  • India has a large population with diverse people.
  • India is peninsular, forming the southern tip of Asia.
  • My country is vast and beautiful, surrounded by great seas to the south and the tallest mountain peaks to the north.
  • India got its independence from the British in 1947. It is now the largest democracy in the world.

My country, India, is an ancient country with a history that goes back thousands of years. We have a rich cultural heritage which is respected all over the world. India has also made remarkable contributions to science and technology.

India is part of the Asian continent. It is peninsular, surrounded by the Bay of Bengal to the east, the Arabian Sea to the west, and the great Indian Ocean to the south. Towards the north, the country is surrounded by great mountain ranges with the tallest peaks in the world called the Himalayas.

India has a vast and diverse population, making it the second-most populous country and the largest democracy in the world. India has various cultures, traditions, faiths, languages and even cuisines. I am proud of my country’s rich heritage and all its achievements.

To write a long paragraph on ‘my country’ for class 3, students will have to remember important facts about India. The essay can start with an introductory paragraph on modern India and its ancient roots. It can then go on to talk about various geographical features and cultures. Here is an example:

India is my country. It is a land of diverse cultures, languages, and religions living in unity and harmony. India is also called ‘Bharat’ or ‘Hindustan’ in its native languages. The Indian flag is tricoloured with stripes of saffron at the top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom with the Ashoka Chakra in the centre. India is an ancient country with a culture that spans thousands of years.

India is the world’s largest democracy, having the second-largest population. It has 28 states and eight union territories. It is the seventh-largest country by landmass. It is surrounded by the great Himalayas in the North and vast oceans to the South. India shares its borders with neighbouring countries such as China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar.

Historically the name India can be traced back to the river Indus, derived from the word ‘Sindhu.’ The country’s national animal is the tiger, and the national bird is the peacock.

India is also known as the land of spirituality and philosophy. People from different countries come to India to seek spiritual guidance. Even the practice of Yoga, now globally popular, originated in ancient India.

I am a proud Indian. If we strive for it, we can make India prosper and become a world leader in the future.

Writing an essay on their country encourages children to learn about their motherland and pick up some facts and general knowledge about their heritage. The essay also teaches children how to assimilate these facts and put them together in a coherent written format for their writing assignments. The essay can touch upon various aspects of the country, such as history, geographical and demographic facts, and noteworthy accomplishments. Students can then weave a good narrative around the facts and express their perspectives.

How to Write an Essay about a Country

In this tutorial, you will learn how to write an essay about any country.

This method will work for a paper you have to write for Sociology, Economics, a History class, or for any other discipline you can imagine.

The biggest challenge when writing an essay is coming up with material.

And the easiest way to keep your ideas flowing is to break your topic into subtopics.

Let’s see how this works.

Our subject is a country. Any country.

How would we go about breaking the idea of a country into aspects or parts?

What are some of the parts a country may have?

The easiest way to break up a topic is to use the Power of Three!

And which three aspects are relevant to any country? Which three things does any country have?

  • Any country has a political aspect. Politics is all about the government. It answers the question, “What are the political forces and relationships among them?”
  • Any country has a social aspect. This part of the paper will answer the question, “How do people live in this country?” The social aspect is about the people of the country.
  • “What are the major economic forces in this country”
  • “How do they shape the country?”
  • “Is the country going through an economic hardship?”

These are three wonderful ways to discuss and to structure an essay about a country.

What else can we do?

We can talk about a country in terms of the past, the present, and the future. Let’s see what this looks like.

  • The past. This section will answer the question, “How was this country in the past?”
  • The present. This section will the answer the question, “How is the country doing today?”
  • The future. This part will answer the question, “What can be predicted about this country?”

Again, this is a wonderful way to discuss any country.

You can combine these different aspects to form a longer essay.

In fact, you can write as long an essay as you want.

Let’s say we’re writing about a country in terms of the past, the present and the future. What could we write about in each section?

We are already using the Power of Three to create the main structure. Now we can use the Power of Three to break up each of the sections into three subsections.

  • And we can talk about the political, social ,and economic aspects in section 1 about the past. In other words, how was this country in the past politically, socially, and economically?
  • In the next section, we discuss how this country fares in the present politically, socially, and economically.
  • And finally, what can be predicted about this country politically, socially, and economically?

Hope this makes sense.

You can actually do this differently. You can have three sections that are devoted to politics, society, and economics.

You can still use the Power of Three, and you can use it in reverse.

  • In the first section , you would talk about the past, the present, and the future of this country in terms of politics.
  • In the next section , you would talk about the society in the past, in the present, and in the future.
  • And in the final section , you would talk about the past, the present and the future of this country’s economy.

Note that countries have a lot more different aspects to them. For example, you can discuss any country in terms of:

  • Ethnic diversity

You can use any of these aspects. Just don’t forget to use the Power of Three to make your life easier 🙂

Our country India is also known by the names Hindustan and Bharat. We got Independence on 15th August 1947. Many patriots sacrificed their lives for this land and to give freedom to their future generation.

Much of the country’s economy is dependent on this agriculture. The highest irrigated crop here are sugarcane, cotton, wheat and rice. Even though people of different religions live here and they worship their Gods yet they live in so much peace and harmony.

They are free to follow their own cultures and speak their own language without any hindrance. That is why India is famous for its ‘unity in diversity’. We should be proud that our country is admired all over the world for its rich cultures and traditions.

Our country is our proud. Our people have made many contributions in the field of science, arts, math, music, dance, mathematics and sports and earned many medals for country. We are proud to be the inhabitants of this country.

Many people devoted their lives just to make this country free from the chains of slavery. Now it is up to this young generation to maintain the uniqueness and make this country prouder. We need to understand that we will strengthen our country when we work together.

Notorious British actress Vivien Leigh, known for playing Scarlett O’Hara in the classic “ Gone With the Wind” was born Vivian Mary Hartley on Nov. 5, 1913, in Darjeeling, India. She returned to England when Vivian was 6 times old.

Most Indians do not watch Bollywood pictures, according to the BBC. The country said to be obsessed with their grandiose musical products has veritably many cinema defences-- compared with defences in the United States.

4. Why were the British reluctant to lose India?

India was maybe the most important to Britain of the homes in the conglomerate. It was run in a different way from the utmost other corridors of the conglomerate because it had been different from other corridors of the conglomerate. India was largely populated. It had been economically developed. There have been countries with governments that were even as complex as Britain. As a result, Britain couldn't march by and take over. British rule developed through a mixture of military units and alliances with Indian autocrats.

By the 1800s, British rule in India was strong. Still, there were only a bitsy number of British dogfaces and directors in India. Indian civil retainers did the maturity of the day-to-day work that allowed British rule to operate. By the 1800s, there were numerous thousands of middle-class Indians who worked in the administration, who spoke English and who had an English education ( frequently entered in India).

5. Is India a good place to live in?

A check reflecting perceptions about 73 countries has thrown up both good and bad news for India. The check says India is among the stylish 25 countries to live in 2020. There are only four other Asian countries; China, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates in the list.

India has moved two places up within the check, conducted by the US News and therefore the World Report in association with the Wharton School of the US, over its 2019 ranking. It was ranked 27 last time.

But the check also showed that people don't have a truly good perception about India in the matters of raising children in the country or the status of women also.

In the list of stylish countries to raise children, India stands at 59th position. A disciplinarian nation like Singapore is ranked 22, and indeed countries facing internal strife analogous to Kenya and Egypt are placed above India in the list of stylish countries to raise children.

6. Why did the British give freedom to India?

World War II had a profound effect on the social powers because it completely destroyed their husbandry. Hitler destroyed the husbandry of Britain and France to such an extent that they were no longer suitable to financially maintain their military forces, and were hence unfit to contain the burgeoning freedom movements in their colonies. It's worth noting that Britain was in such bad shape that it entered about one-fourth of the total aid given under the Marshall Plan.

Anyhow, Gandhi or any other leader, Britain would have left India in 1947 purely for financial reasons, due to its wholly collapsed economy. After WWII, Britain left not only India but nearly all its other goods, including Jordan in 1946, Palestine in 1947, Sri Lanka in 1948, Myanmar in 1948, Egypt in 1952 and Malaysia in 1957.

For the same reason, France also had to grant independence to Laos in 1949 and Cambodia in 1953, and had to leave Vietnam in 1954; the Netherlands also left the ultimate of its colonies called Dutch East Indies, mainly Indonesia in 1949. Had there been no Hitler and no World War II, it most presumably would have taken another 30 or farther times for India and some of the other colonies to achieve independence.

Duty of a person is the responsibility which he/she needs to perform individually. A citizen living in the society, community or country has various duties and responsibilities towards the society, community and country to be performed in right manner. People should have faith in goodness and never ignore important duties towards their country.

My Duties towards my Country as being a Citizen

Years have been passed since our country got independence from the British rule by the sacrifices of many great freedom fighters. They were real followers of their duties towards country who really made possible the dream of freedom in the country by paying very costly cost of lives of millions of people. After independence of India, rich people and politicians got involved in their own development only and not the country. It is true that we have been independent from the British rule however not from the greediness, crimes, corruption, irresponsibility, social issues, child labour, poverty, cruelty, terrorism, female infanticide, gender inequality, dowry death, gang rape, and other illegal activities.

It is not enough making only rules, regulations, laws, acts, campaigns and programmes by the government, they are needed to be followed strictly by each and every Indian citizen to be really free from all the illegal activities. Indian citizens need to perform their loyal duties towards country for the betterment of everyone by eliminating poverty, gender inequality, child labour, crimes against women and other social issues. Indian citizens have right to select their own political leader which can lead their country in right direction towards development. So, they do not have right to blame bad people in their life. They must keep their eyes opened while voting their political leaders and chose the one who is really free of corrupt mind and has capability to lead a country.

It is must for the people of India to perform their duties individually towards country to really become independent in true sense. It is very necessary for the development of the country which can be possible only from the end of its disciplined, punctual, dutiful and honest citizens.

Duty towards my Country Essay 400 words

A person has various duties in his/her life towards himself, family, parents, kids, wife, husband, neighbors, society, community and most importantly towards the country. Duties of a person towards country are very important to maintain its dignity, bright future, and lead it towards betterment.

I am an Indian citizen as I took birth here. As being a responsible citizen of the country, I have many duties towards my country which I must fulfill all that. I have to perform my duties in various aspects and all that related to the development of my country.

What is Duty

Duty is a task or action needed to be performed by each and every individual of the country on regular basis for the betterment and more development. Performing duty loyally is the responsibility of Indian citizens and is the demand of development in country.

What are my Duties towards my Country

Citizen of a country is the person who lives almost his/her full life and leaves his/her ancestors too, so everyone has some duties towards country. Take an example of home in which various members live together however everyone has to follow all the rules and regulations made by a most senior person or head of the family for the betterment and peaceful life in the home. Just like that, our country is like a home in which people of various religions live together however they need to follow some rules and regulations made by the government for more development in the country. Loyal duties of citizens aim to remove all the social issues, bring real independence in the country and come under the category of developed countries.

People working in the government or private offices, must go on time and perform their duties loyally without wasting time as there is a true saying that “if we destroy time, time will destroy us”. Time never waits anyone, it runs continuously and we should learn from the time. We should not stay until we get the goal in our life. The most important goal of our life is to make our country a great country in true sense.

We should not be selfish people and understand our duties towards country. It’s we, not others who are both, the victim and the benefiter. Our each and every activity affects us in positive and negative manner (if we do positive we become benefiter and if we do negative we become victim). So, why we do not take pledge today to take our each and every step positively in right direction in order to get protected from being a victim in our own country. It is us who have right to rule the country by selecting a good leader. So, why we blame others or politicians, we should blame only us and not others as it’s we who are not performing duties according to the demand. We have been involved in our own daily routine only and have not any mean to other’s life, extracurricular activities, political affairs of the country, etc. It is our mistake that our country is still in the category of developing country and not in the developed country.

It is a big problem man; we should not take it easy. We should not be greedy and selfish; we should live and let others live a healthy and peaceful life. The bright future of our country is in our own hand. Still there is a time and chance for us, we can do better. Start living with open eyes and perform true duties towards the country. We should maintain the cleanliness of our heart, body, mind and surrounding areas for the good start.

Why do the characters claim that the only way through which they can go back to England is to have sexual intercourse with one another?

Sex is used in this play as a metaphor for freedom. The characters who are inmates have little personal freedoms left and even more few reasons for happiness. They are however allowed to engage in meaningless sex which offers them happiness at least for a short period of time. When the characters claim that they can reach England only by having sexual intercourse the characters imply the idea that this is their only way of experiencing freedom and happiness. Thus, even though the inmates know the possibility to return home is minimal, they still cling to every little reminder of happiness.

Why are the prisoners sent to Australia?

The reason why the prisoners are sent to Australia is that the jail system in Great Britain in the 18th and 19th centuries was so overtaxed, that the need to create a prison colony arose. The jails and prisons in England were extremely overcrowded and there was no more space where to put the new inmates. This problem was caused by the judiciary system which punished even the slightest transgression with hard prison years. The claim that only murdered and extremely dangerous inmates were sent to Australia is a complete lie as many people caught for stealing food to survive were often sent there as well.

How were the aboriginal people affected by the British coming to the island?

The aboriginals are briefly mentioned in Act I, Scene II and are described as watching from afar as the British ships approach the land. It is estimated that before the arrival of the British people, between 500,000 to 750,000 aboriginal people lived in Australia as nomadic tribes or even more advanced settlements which had a well-developed agricultural system. The British did not try to sign treaties with the aboriginals at first and the tendency of the many settlers was to treat the Australian aboriginals as being the same with the Native Americans which many encounter. The native population was almost decimated by the many European diseases introduced to the island.

In time, the settlers began to claim more and more land and to turn it into grazing pastures for sheep. This affected greatly the traditional life of the Aboriginal people, many surviving from hunting and gathering. After a few years on the island, the British began to catch aboriginals and enslave them. The women also suffered a great deal, often being forced into prostitution and seen as desirable because of their exotic attributes. In comparison with the Native Americans, the Australian aboriginals did not try to get involved in armed conflicts. In fact, the aboriginal groups began to rise against the white settlers only at the beginning of the 20th century and in extremely small groups which were easily overpowered.

What It Means To Love Our Country

  • July 3, 2018

our country essay

As we celebrate the anniversary of our country’s founding, singing songs of our love for America, it is appropriate to consider whether our country really is worth loving and, if she is, what it means to love her. This question is more important now than ever before: it is perhaps the dominant dividing line in America today.

Take the recent strife over the national anthem. While some Americans use the anthem as an occasion for protest , other Americans see a failure to stand during its performance as a betrayal of the land they love. This is not merely a dispute over etiquette. It is a deep disagreement over that most fundamental of political questions: whether—and how—Americans ought to love their country. Many of the other conflicts currently roiling America’s public life—conflicts over symbols of America’s past , over immigration and refugees—emerge from disputes over this same question.

This essay offers a possible answer. It begins with an explanation of how and why we can love America well, in a way that is not only defensible but noble, and it concludes by considering how this love should affect our politics.

Patriotic Affection

Start your day with Public Discourse

Patriotic love properly begins with affection: the appreciation, the comprehension and esteem, of that which is good in its object. True affection appreciates only what is worthy of esteem. To esteem the vices in our country is not to love her well; indeed, it is not to love her at all.

The affection we have for America ought to be prompted by the good things in her: the beauty of her rolling hills and soaring mountains, the nobility in her history, the justice in her laws and courts, the art and ideas her people have bequeathed to the world. And the highest sort of affection appreciates its object’s highest virtues. Americans ought to follow Pericles in appreciating that “[o]ur government does not copy our neighbors, but is an example to them.”  Athens, like America, had its share of Olympic medals; but better to exult in the constitution of our republic than in the constitution of our athletes.

One might object here that this affection is too thin to be called patriotism . Affection cannot explain the unique love that American s feel for America. After all, one need not reside within our country’s borders to savor Steinbeck’s stories or marvel at Madison’s handiwork.

The answer is that, as St. Augustine pointed out long ago, “nothing can be loved unless it be known.” No one can love America like an American because no one knows her like an American.

But to say that knowledge is essential to love does not imply that patriotism is the unique province of intellectuals. The knowledge that leads to love of country is not necessarily or even frequently propositional. Rather, it is the firsthand experience of a place that gradually helps us see what is beautiful about it. Nor does this imply that only those born in America can genuinely love her. An immigrant who has suffered under the oppression of authoritarianism is in some ways especially capable of knowing the value of the freedom Americans enjoy.

A perusal of the The  Federalist  might give an interested Frenchman an understanding of our governmental institutions. But true affection for our Constitution can come only from living under the government it structures, participating in the politics it makes possible, and exercising the freedoms it secures. In a word, we love our country because she is, in some important sense, ours .

Protecting and Promoting America’s Goodness

But our love for America should not be limited to this. Patriotic affection ought to elicit a further desire to protect and promote America’s goodness. Americans today are the beneficiaries of those who pledged their lives and sacred honor to form this country, those who spent their lives in the struggle to keep it, and those who have worked tirelessly to shape it into a more perfect union. We have many blessings to be grateful for, and the appropriate product of our gratitude is a desire to promote these blessings.

This desire to protect and promote our country’s goodness is properly called patriotism, but it is patriotism of a particular kind. When our country struggles or our government errs, patriotism arouses us to safeguard the things we love. Our love for our country is originally founded on all the countless lovely things about her. But our love for America does not rest on its remaining lovely. If it did, it would be no love at all. Such a false patriotism is, as C.S. Lewis once put it, “like loving your children only if they’re good, your wife only while she keeps her looks, your husband only so long as he is famous and successful.”

Because true patriotism appreciates America’s charms but refuses to esteem her faults, it does not cause us to blindly endorse everything our country is and has been. It will not even permit us to be unmoved by our country’s sins. We promote our country’s goodness both by celebrating its virtues and by identifying—and remedying—its vices. This patriotism will not allow us to mark as noble what is ignoble. It compels us to cherish those goods that ought to be cherished and to remedy those evils that ought to be remedied.

This patriotism thus aims to protect and promote America’s goodness , not her government . It entails no particular commitment to, or satisfaction with, the ruling authority of the state. On the contrary, it will sometimes require criticizing our government when it fails to promote and protect what is good about America. We ought to have affection for the justice and peace that our government secures, and our love for our country ought to compel us to promote these blessings—including by holding our government to account. An unpatriotic heart is thus characterized not by agitation, but by apathy.

Objections against Patriotism

Patriotism is frequently criticized as an unjustifiable preference for people who happen to reside within the same arbitrary lines on a map. Patriotism conceives of one’s country as a morally relevant object, as something to which we are loyal and of which we take special consideration. Yet morality is typically—and rightly—understood to be universal, with individual human beings the locus of moral concern. A critic might be left wondering how any patriotism can justify treating a subset of human beings as deserving of special solicitude. There are at least three reasons why the patriotism described here is in fact justifiable.

First, this patriotism describes an inclination of the heart. The critic might say that we ought to replace our desire to protect and promote our country’s goodness with a desire to protect and promote the world’s goodness. But when it comes to the inclinations of our hearts, cosmopolitan love is outside the reach of mere mortals; our hearts would break were we to experience the world’s tragedies as if each had happened to our own mother. One can recognize universal love as the ideal while still praising people’s progress  toward that ideal. Man’s natural inclination is to selfishness, not charity, and patriotism helps move him closer to the charity he ought to have. To return to Lewis: “those who do not love the fellow-villagers or fellow-townsmen whom they have seen are not likely to have got very far towards loving ‘Man’ whom they have not.”

Second, this patriotism is constituted by a desire for our country’s good —not just her material prosperity, but her moral good as well. This patriotism therefore cannot justify ignoring the moral significance of non-Americans. All agree, for example, that we ought to love our family, and most even agree that this love rightfully privileges our family’s interests over others. But a familial love that justifies injustice to others is, in truth, an idolatrous imitator of love. Indeed, a proper patriotism, rather than promoting injustice, helps prevent it. As G.K. Chesterton argued , what is “really need[ed] for the frustration and overthrow of a deaf and raucous Jingoism is a renascence of the love of the native land.”

Third, those inclined to take moral instruction from the Christian Bible have good reasons to affirm the nobility of loving one’s country as one’s country . Christ wept for Jerusalem. Paul was ready to sacrifice himself for his people. And there must be something to the story of Peter’s sermon at Pentecost: the miracle was not that those assembled heard the sermon in Peter’s language, but that they understood it in their own . The nations’ differences were not eliminated, but affirmed.

Patriotism understood in this way—as the desire to protect and promote our country’s goodness—is not only justifiable. It is good. It stirs us to celebrate our country’s loveliness and inspires us to rectify her ugliness.

How Patriotism Affects Politics

On its surface, the patriotism outlined above shares some resemblance to the “new nationalism” some conservatives have celebrated in the current presidential administration. Matthew Continetti , for example, explains that the new nationalism binds Americans together “by our love of the land, its natural beauty, its inhabitants, its history, by what our people have achieved, what they have lost, what they have endured.” Likewise, Rich Lowry and Ramesh Ponnuru have endorsed a nationalism that “includes loyalty to one’s country: a sense of belonging, allegiance, and gratitude to it . . . [that] attaches to the country’s people and culture, not just to its political institutions and laws.”

Continetti, Lowry, and Ponnuru are eager to craft policy recommendations from this new nationalism. But while the policies these writers recommend may or may not be prudent, it is difficult to see how they follow from an appreciation for, say, the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains or the courage of Dr. King’s convictions. The patriotism described in this essay certainly does not entail them. Desiring to protect and promote the goodness in America will lead to us to care deeply about what our government does, yes; but arriving at particular policy prescriptions requires identifying not only what is good about America but also which policies will protect and promote this goodness.

Take, as examples, limiting immigration and promoting the exclusive use of the English language, two of the policies suggested both by Continetti and by Lowry and Ponurru. These policies follow from our patriotic sentiments only if they further, rather than hinder, what is good about America. But how to decide? The magnificent dome of St. Josaphat’s Basilica in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is ringed with verses written in the Polish spoken by the church’s original parishioners. Today, Spanish-language flyers cover its interior. Is this an example of something about America that needs correction—say, the unfortunate reality that English is not as universally spoken as some Americans might like—or is it an example of what is good about America—say, America’s tradition of welcoming immigrants?

History alone, while important, cannot give us the answer. As Ross Douthat has incisively observed, “the real American past was particularist as well as universalist.” That is, America is and has been a country of immigrants from all across the world, and it is and has been a country of Protestant, Lockean Englishmen. Each American, drawing on his own moral principles and aesthetic predilections, must decide which elements in America’s topography and culture and history are worthy of his affection—which elements are worth protecting and promoting.

This debate will always be difficult. But it is essential that we see that those who disagree with us on this question are no less patriotic than we are.

The bad news is that we will never reach consensus on exactly what is worth loving in our country. The good news is that many of the things Americans love about America are not mutually exclusive. Most of the time, our countrymen are right to love these things, for they are truly good things. Loving America well requires the capacity to relish the countless visions of her goodness held by Americans across our country.

Most of all, loving America well means taking her seriously—working to preserve what is lovely about her and to fix what is not. No one can love America like an American, and that is precisely why we are called to do it.

Our Duty our Honor our Country

How it works

What does the three words duty, honor, country mean to you? These words are more than just simple definitions, but are the keywords that define us as true patriotic Americans. These words are what every true American should try their best to follow and fulfill. These words shape not just us as individuals, but our country as a whole. Without duty, honor, country, America could not be nearly as strong as it is today.

Obviously, in order to fulfill these three words, you have to understand what each of them mean.

Duty is the act of serving your country whether it be through military service, emergency services, working an everyday job, or even just helping out your community with community service. By fulfilling our duty we help keep our country together and strong. Honor is the act of showing respect to your country by saluting during the national anthem or doing the pledge to the American flag every morning, but it also means to respect your fellow Americans as well. Showing respect to each other and our country makes our bond as a country even stronger. Country is the act of putting your country before yourself, whether it be to help your fellow Americans in time of need, or enlisting to help fight off an enemy force. By fulfilling this, we, of course, make our country stronger.

Now as for I, I am still young, so my actions for this country are not quite that significant as of now, though there are a few ways that I have fulfilled the meanings of duty, honor, country. For example, I have done a good amount of community service for my community by assisting with the local recycling center, picking up trash around my community, and even helping my fellow Americans with any work they needed to get done at times. By doing this I have shown acts of duty. As for honor, I ensure that I fully say the pledge every morning, and always make sure to stand tall and salute whenever I hear the national anthem play, along with showing kindness and respect to my fellow Americans and peers. By doing this, I have shown acts of honor towards my country. For country, I haven’t really done much if i’m entirely honest. For country, I have assisted in the collection of donations of both toys and money to buy toys in order to provide poor American families with toys in order to ensure that their children get the nice and enjoyable christmas that they deserve. By doing this, I believe that I have shown acts of country.

Showing sacrifice for duty, honor, country is very important for not just our country, but for Americans as a whole. Fulfilling our duty ensures that the country is safe, secured, well-maintained, and continues to grow even stronger. Honor helps ensure that we have pride for our country and that we will always stand tall for our country and our fellow Americans no matter what obstacles we may encounter. Showing sacrifice for country could be the most important of all, though. By showing sacrifice for country, we ensure that our country will stand strong and united for years to come, and shows just how much we care about our country. By showing sacrifice for duty, honor, country, we are ensuring that our country continues to stay strong, grow stronger, and allows Americans to become even more united as one.

As Americans, we must always ensure that we are doing our best to fulfill the ideals of duty, honor, country. We must be willing to stand strong and do what it takes to make our country proud. We do this by helping out our communities, serving in the armed forces, the emergency services, or even in an everyday job, along with showing respect to each other and our colors. We must be willing to show sacrifice in order to ensure that our country stands tall, strong, and united. Now, what will you do in order to fulfill your duty, your honor, and your country?

image_pdf

[ Hints: Introduction, Situations and its area Its population, Main Crops, and fruits, Main Rivers, Main poets, Natural beauties, Conclusion.]

Introduction: The name of our country is Bangladesh. It became independent in 1971 through a bloody liberation war. About thirty lakhs men and women laid down their lives for the cause of independence. It is one most beautiful countries of the world, with its green fields and lots of trees and plants.

Situation and its area: Bangladesh lies in the eastern part of South Asia. It is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal in the south and borders on India and Myanmar in the cast, and only India in the west. Its total land area including rivers is 147.570 square kilometers.

Its population: Bangladesh is a small country. But it has a big -population. There are about one hundred and twenty million people living this small land. Here the density of population is high. About 800 people live per square kilometer. Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country and most of its people are farmers.

Main Crops and Fruits: The soil of Bangladesh is very fertile. It gets lots of rain and sunshine. So, rice, jute, sugar-cane, and tea grow abundantly here. Many kinds of fruits also grow in Bangladesh. Of them, jackfruits, mangoes, bananas, pineapples, guavas, and water-melons are most famous.

Main rivers: Bangladesh is called the land of rivers. It is crisscrossed by hundreds of big and small rivers. Of them, the Padma the Jamuna, the Meghna, the Brahmaputra, and the Karnafully are worth mentioning.

Main Poets: There are many poets in Bangladesh. Sufia Kamal and Shamsur Rahman are the most famous. Kazi Nazrul Islam, who died a few years ago, is our National poet Jasimuddin was also a great poet.

Natural beauties: Bangladesh is known as the darling child of Nature. There are many interesting places with scenic beauty here. The Sundarbans, Rangamati and the tea gardens of Sylhet are very Attractive. The Cox’s Bazar Sea beach, which is 120 kilometers long, is the longest beach in the world. The beach with its green background looks very charming.

Conclusion: Though Bangladesh is an uncommonly beautiful country, most of its people live below the poverty line. They work very hard, yet they do not have enough to eat. The reason is that we are too many people for this small land. However, our government has started a campaign for poverty. Alleviation and some pragmatic steps have been taken in this respect. We hope that our country will be free from hunger and poverty by the early part of the 2Ist century.
